I personally find that a lot of red H's are undeserved. Most of them have an army of sycophantic love trolls slavering all over the author. Nothing is a bigger turn off than to see that red H on a story that might be interesting according to the title and sub-title sitting there with a 'NEW' tag for just a day or two. It smacks of a legion of fans that love the slop by that author in particular... or maybe a slew of love bots that are scheduled to run and vote 5 on the stories.

Based on a typical vote to view ratio of 1:100 the overall views should have gone up by 1,400. Even spread between seven stories, that should have moved the decimal place of the thousands of views stat up noticeably. It didn’t move.

This is a set of stories that no one is reading, but which still accrued 14 votes, averaging 1.29️.

All perfectly normal.

It's the whole attitude that 'I don't read stories that rate less than 3, because they are all largely a bunch of shit' that get me riled. My recent stories have had all sorts of shenanigans. In a sane world, you’d need a lot of views to get 14 votes. And them all being 1s and 2s is just .

Surprisingly, being hammered down from 4.10 to 3.90 is not overly traumatic. It’s so evident that the votes have been manipulated that is almost farcical.

Where are they, then? At this point, the OP is basically preaching to the choir from a pyre they lit under themselves.

No matter how many Red Hs someone has, they have almost undoubtedly been trolled, and are well aware of it. They've been knocked off a toplist, or beaten down in a themed contest, or get 1s out of the gate on every new release, or all of the above. Some may be more balanced and understand that heightened exposure can lead to perfectly legitimate scores less than 5, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't believe trolling is a thing on Lit. LOL
