What have you learned?

I have learned that I am loved.

I have learned that I have real friends who will be there for me no matter how bizarre my requests.

I have learned I would slit my (bad) sister's throat if I ever see her again.

I have learned that people really do like my stories even if I'm experimenting with a pacing I'm not sure of.

I have learned to not do that again. Electricity hurts.

I have learned that I can fall down the stairs now without being rushed to the hospital.

I have learned, my dad forgot I had back surgery o.0;;;;;

First time I have ever teared up over elephant dung!

Question: Is there anything our group of Litezines can gather on your behalf to send along with them?

C
ps, this was brought to question because of a commercial here for women products. Female children who have hit puberity miss school because of not having sufficient supplies of sanitary products.

I don't think there is anything the AH can do to help him. He, and his friends, are doing wonders but the real problem is the remoteness of the village. They are hundreds of miles from the nearest postal delivery and any transport has to be rugged 4-wheel drive when the roads are dry.

One thing we can all do is click on this site, and the associated sites shown on the tabs:

Breast Cancer

The other tabs require clicks to provide food for hungry children, to save some rainforest, to provide books to help children to read, and animal welfare. You can click on each and every one every day at no cost to you but each click helps the charities. (Thanks to EnglishLady for directing me to it).

Then, for US Litizens, there is the Pine Ridge reservation. Here They always have needs, especially for the women and children. All my winnings from Lit contests have gone to Pine Ridge. A few dollars would make little difference to me by the time the banks have taken their cut for exchanging dollars for pounds, but thanks to Laurel accepting my suggestion, all my dollar winnings have been spent at Pine Ridge. Here is the link to the Wikipedia article on the Reservation: Wiki

I've learned that sometimes you just have to know when enough's enough, stop worrying, and go for it.

I learned, I stopped, I went.

September Song.

When I was a young man courting the girls
I played me a waiting game
If a maid refused me with tossing curls
I'd let the old Earth make a couple of whirls
While I plied her with tears in lieu of pearls
And as time came around she came my way
As time came around, she came

When you meet with the young girls early in the Spring
You court them in song and rhyme
They answer with words and a clover ring
But if you could examine the goods they bring
They have little to offer but the songs they sing
And the plentiful waste of time of day
A plentiful waste of time

Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game

Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I'll spend with you
These precious days I'll spend with you

I've learnt that loosing your cellphone in one of the sex shops in Amsterdam after 2 am on a Saturday morning is not a good idea.

I've learnt that I adore architecture, and I still get that incredible feeling of awe when I am in the presence of something great and magnificent.

I've learnt that I don't understand the dynamics between love, trust and intimacy or even what I thought I knew about it.

I've learnt that looking forward to home is sometimes better than getting there.

I've learnt that I still have a hell of a long road to travel before I find my place in this world.

I've learnt that most of the time when I'm not balanced, I crave familiar comfort.

I've learnt that familiar comfort, is elusive.

I've always known that you're amazing. :rose:

My cats are scared of me while I"m sick so they aren't much comfort. I think it's all the coughing.

I've learned that there are more boring people in the world who think they are interesting than I ever thought possible.
