Not sure this is the right thread, but it's going here anyway. If it makes any of you say "fuck" then at least on one level, its worked.

Am I alone in feeling completely baffled by the world we live in? There's no end of reasons to feel like that, of course but I've come across something in the last few days which has blown my mind.

That thing is...Conformity Gate. This, from what I can gather, is what Stranger Things fans were dubbing the title of an episode they believed was going to air today. After the 2 hour finale last week tied the show up (no spoilers). Now, I love ST. Was it perfect? No, no show is (not even The Wire, which is the greatest thing ever to have graced a television screen). But people who didn't get the ending THEY wanted dissected the show and seemingly arbitrarily decided that because they found a load of "clues" that there would be another episode today which tied into what they wanted to happen. Oh, and shitloads of them sent the creators, crew and cast of the show a shitload of abuse online as well.

Like...is this what we have come to? Have we lost all capacity for critical thought meaning people are being reduced to this?

Anyway, rant over, sorry.

Fuck.
