What made you smile or laugh today? Part IV

Got a brand spanking new Cuisinart food processor to replace a very old one. Had the frozen bananas out thawing to make some banana bread. I'll be damned if I could get the lid to connect to the bowl so it would turn on! Handle goes at the front and feed tube goes to the back...or so I read...but it's different from my old one. Tried for about 20 minutes in various combinations. Finally gave up...laughing. Just used my Kitchen Aid instead.

Far be it from me to be the guy who jumps in to solve a problem when a woman clearly wants only to be heard, but have you considered reading the instructions?

More importantly, does it LIKE to be spanked? And, are you spanking it the right way?

I like Hawaiian pizza okay...what am I missing here?

The ongoing pizza feud that seems to consume us here from time to time.

I consider it to be Canada's National Shame (it was either invented in Coburg Ontario, east of Toronto or London Ontario, depending on who you believe). Both cities admit their guilt.

In its place I offer the Canadian: Pepperoni, (Back) Bacon and Mushrooms

All this time I thought Canada's National Shame was Canadian bacon. The things I learn...

No, seriously, I'd like to be able to work the damn thing...I just don't expect anyone from here to offer to come do that for me. *smarty pants* You'd be amazed how sparse the instructions are on how to put the lid on the bowl. The answer to your question is 'yes' plus the answers to this question on the site I bought it from. Appears I'm not the only one that can't figure it out.

I have noticed that assembly instructions seem to be evolving toward the absurdly minimal. IKEA may be thevworst offender but they have competition. I recently bought a new TV and the instructions for assembling and attaching the stand had me puzzled for a very long time.

Not to brag, but my Cuisinart from 1983 is still going strong, though I did have to replace the work bowl a year or so ago.

Not a brag. I clearly use mine more than you do. My original one was from the mid 70s. Had a metal blade. Should have kept it, since the second one had a plastic blade and the base wasn't as sturdy, but my son appreciated my old one. This new one not only has a metal blade but now the base is stainless steel and the bowl is larger.

Glad to hear yours is still going strong. One of my sons is coming over for dinner this weekend, so I'm sure he will be able to figure it out and show me. We all need my pumpkin pie in a couple of weeks and I make the pastry in the Cusinart.

Today's smile was brought to me by the sun, which was warm enough to let me wear shorts, after I had put them away for fall.

I just realized you are a fellow Canadian. Which makes me smile.

Have you tried a flogger or verbal abuse on the Cuisinart?

Making the right choice.
Realizing I made the right choice a while back as well.
