A friend of mine found a stray cat in the road today and caught the little guy. They posted pics to local FB groups and found his owner! He'd gotten out of an open door in September and ran off, the family definitely thought he was gone for good.

Amazing that he made it ~4 months out in the world and was found.

I chose French since it's a national language here and I'm already exposed to it every day--it's on all government websites and documents, all product labels in stores...

Doesn't the government mandate learning both of the national languages when you're at school?

It's... complicated in my situation.

Different provinces start their French education in different grades. I went to 15 schools in 3 different provinces and my French education got absolutely fucked, I basically never had it at all.

I did take ~4 years' worth of Spanish in just 2 years of high school, though.

Yeah, it was... something. Shortest time at a school was a few weeks. Longest was my final high school, I went there for 3.5 years.
