And yes, as a former high school English teacher, I can tell you that English is a tremendously difficult language to use properly, not only in vocabulary, where most words have multiple definitions and synonyms, dependent often only on context, but in pronunciation as well. Consider, just as an example, the following words: cough, rough, trough, sough, though, through, thorough, enough. Each of them (and there are more!) ends in the letters "ough," but those four letters are pronounced differently for each of the words.

It's a result of English actually being a bastard language, taking large parts of its formation from the Latinate languages, but also numerous bits and pieces from almost every other language in what was considered "the civilized world" in the 17th to 19th centuries. There is no real rhyme nor reason to its formation and structure.

I *wish* I spoke another language than English as fluently as *you* do English. I'd consider myself near-fluent, and be extremely proud of myself.

Sometimes its hard to know what word to use yes. The good thing about being wrong is that next time I will know how to say it right! :)

You're doing fine pet! Your english is coming on leaps and bounds while you are explaining complicated medical procedures in english, I'm toiling to get directions to the nearest whisky bar in czech!
 
As for what pissed me off..

Yesterday there was a football match in my town, between Olomouc (city where I live) and Scotish team from Aberdeen. I saw lots of Scots yesterday, today as well. They were very happy and acted really friendly. Well, after the match some of our damned Olomouc football fans done some mess in one of our local bar's, which is owned by one scotish guy. A. told me they broken windows of that bar and throw a gas candle inside. I didnt know about it untill A. told me it was in the news papers! sigh

I was so ashamed of the Czech fans.. and SO MAD they done this to the scotish bar owner!!! :mad: It really made me sad.


First the fucking thief taxi driver in Prague who robbed my A. of lots of money and now this! :(

I dunno what to say.. Oh well, bastards are all over the world!



Our football fans are crazy! Sometimes I think they going there just cuz of the fighting after! lol No matter if we win or lose, they ALWAYS doing probs! Bastards!!!! :mad::mad::mad:
