What pissed you off today?

That's how I learned to cannulate Sir - I practised on Him....:devil::eek::D
i almost took a dialysis job... i didn't because what the job entails is not anything like a simple blood draw and on to the next patient. My heart would have ached too much for the very sick people that i would deal with daily.

LOL - this discussion just made me remember a nursing student I knew years ago. When they were learning to do draws, she was a very popular "target" for her fellow students because her skin was next to transparent and the veins were easy to find. After a week or so of this, both her anicubitals were covered with little tiny stick scabs; when she got stopped for a traffic violation, the cop thought sure he was busting a junkie, until she showed her nursing student ID and the texts they were using for that quarter.

classmates at first lol
i haven't killed anyone yet
Do people actually volunteer to be pin cushions or do you have to bribe them? :D

This might explain why an intern I dated many many years ago used to stare lustfully at my arms... apparently I have noteworthy veins

:DLMAO. That's brilliant!

If you have nice prominent veins, and/or they're a little closer to the surface than in most people, and/or your skin is very fair so the veins show up better, you're right - he *was* lusting for your veins. And probably the rest of you, too.

All of the above. I'm practically a circulatory road map. And here I thought he liked my personality. :D Ha. It was the veins! (A girl doesn't get to say that everyday)

<Sigh> Off to (try to) call it a night (again). It's hard to sleep the night through when one starts coughing so hard one can't get a breath. I wish there were a cough suppressant that worked for more than 3-4 hours. On me  I've found that things that will knock most people out just slow me down a tad; things that stop coughing all night long for most people work, at most, for 4 hours. Just my luck that I have high tolerances for damn near everything that *should* make my life easier.

A candidate didn't turn up for an interview (and she'd already cancelled at the last minute the day before) What a waste of my time!
Only 38of the 80 people who accepted the invitation for our network event turned up. Grrr. There goes a few more hundreds of dollars down the sink (again!)

Presumably she won't get a third opportunity for an interview...

You guys keep records of those who are invited and those who show up, right? So the 38 get invites for future events; the 42 get black-balled, and others get their opportunities. Fair is fair.

The people who helped cause the gas shortage, those who bought the huge SUVs and pick-ups now get a reward of $4,500 for doing it, a reward paid for with our taxes.

I spent over 100 hours trying to get people in this small town to buy into a new idea. When my boss did a follow-up those a----s claim I never been to their shops.

So I know. I know.

I have to spend the next fortnight in a house, alone with my brother. Considering he is a grade-A+ cunt when there's a full house, I have literally no idea how the fuck I'm going to survive. As such, I also detest my parents for leaving me like this.

Good luck, MS...
I have a brother just like that.....

Colds and influensa are almost the same. I could be wrong, but see a doctor, H1N1 is very tricky. My sister-in-law's school, last May and June, average number of kid sick, 10 per class, or in a school of 410, 102 were sick every day.

Then again a garden variety cold, hell, I've had chest colds that have lasted up to six weeks, but then again I have ashmah, (spelling!?!) get phonemona easily.

Asthma. It would be smart to see a doctor, but if you have H1N1 you shouldn't be able to do anything but sweat and sleep.
