The day started with me realising that my wallet was missing. It was nowhere. I called the restaurant we ate at last night, and the one shop we stopped at on the way home. Nothing. Checked my truck. Nothing. Checked the bedroom, the hamper. Nothing. I called my bank, got a runaround, but they stopped my card, etc.
About an hour later, viv, superheroine of the day, finds my wallet, but not after I've gone through a horrendous amount of stress, dozens of phone calls, and trying to figure out how I'm going to get various things replaced.
Then my uncle dies. It was expected, but it still was not the high point of the day.
My dad has to leave town because my uncle died, and that means me overing his business while he's away. It also means a shitload of work for him as he has to prep for being away. This means even more delay before he can come by and recharge my AC, which has been out since the start of this mini-heatwave.
Go to get MIS' car back from the mechanic, and it has failed the safety inspection. They want $2700 to fix it, and the car was bought last year for only a little more than that. I say no, thanks, and take it home. I check the car out to realise that a coupla issues were utter bullshit, and hand it over to the guy that I occasionally use for exhaust welding to check the big ticket ($1600) portion of the repair. He calls me back an hour later, says it took his tech 4 minutes, and he wasn't even going to charge me. Wait, the first guy wanted $1600 for something that it took these guys 4 minutes to handle? The Fuck?!?
I get home, and my dad has made it out to the house. We start going through all the mess to recharge the system, but it isn't taking a charge. It's not taking a charge because the compressor isn't coming on. At all. I've replaced everything in this unit but the compressor last year. Now the compressor is dead. Dead dead.
I don't need this.
Sadly, there's more to this shit day, but I'm running out of energy to even rant about it. Fuck me runnin'.
