Maybe if geometry would had been taught in a similar fashion I might have gasped something. But then again it could have just been the teacher.

Here's the deal: originally the school superintendent said that he planned to have a "long conversation" with the teacher in question but would otherwise not discipline him. Are you kidding me? No discipline for drawing the attention of the Secret Service? Yikes. After two days of relentless phone calls to the district office, the teacher is now on administrative (i.e., paid) leave but will apparently be terminated at the end of the school year.

On the other hand, a teacher who once showed a movie to Alabama high school students in which President G W Bush was called an asshole was slapped with disciplinary action immediately and fired within a week or so.
