Aw, ok then. Thanks for wanting, Renza Ma.

For months and months, nearly every day, I've listened to The Beautiful South. I have all their albums and burned CDs of different fave songs. Fave albums: Blue is the Colour, Choke and Miaow.

I have everything recorded by Maria Callas; listen to her for days at a time.

Current new album, Wagner love duets performed by Deborah Voigt and Placido Domingo.

For special times: da blooze, as my brother calls them. J.L. Hooker, R. Johnson, M. Waters, L. Hopkins. And too many women to name but you probably know them all.

Perdita

Nope, Shock Chick wasn't "shocked"!!! ;)

For some inexplicable reason, I've also got very much into Metallica recently...

*whistles nonchalantly*

Lou :D

well if we're talking metal what of coal chamber
and Reveille and Rob Zombie a little Manson and Powerman 5000 too and lest we forget slayer.

I have been listening to the whole of Massive Attack's Mezzanine
Coldplay's The Scientist
Brand New's Sic Transit Gloria
Fefe Dobson's Bye Bye Boyfriend
Kill Bill Soundtrack
Henry and June Soudtrack
Blondie
Early punk and even something new from Iggy Pop

I seem to have misplaced the Outkast album I just bought, but am thinking it's in someone's car, and been craving Alberta Hunter, but she's hard to come bye . . . and I can't find . . . uh huh, the TAPE.

Blondie was Blondie and Debbie Harry is immortally 'parallel lines' in my mind - though I hear she does some good jazz these days :)

I like drum n bass - esp Ronnie Size, DJ shadow, DJ zinc - all the regulars from the Mutiny line up.

I've also been invloved in the break-beat movement in the uk.

And Kylie Minogue - la la la, can't get you out of my bed - fantastic!

Metallica - rustica more like, chortle chortle, I'm so funny... :)) )

Spoken like a true Blondie fan...does me proud (wiping tear from eye ). Did they just release a new CD? I thought I heard of another one after NO EXIT.

Lime, I have similar taste to you.

Are you the "Dad" in Dad's Mix, or is it your dad? I'm always trying to "educate my two musical kids. I play them Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Burning Spear, Sly and Robbie, Chaka Khan, Parliament, Miles Davis and John Coltrane.

The older one listens politely, then picks out stuff to sample from my collection for his Hip-hop beats which he makes in my recording studio: "A library of British Bird Songs", Beethoven string quartets, "The Coasters 20 Great Originals", "The Firesign Theater - Everything you Know Is Wrong".

The younger one listens to "Comedy Revue" -- a 1954 album featuring stand-up comedy and novelty songs from the Borscht Belt.

What do I like? Tuneful melodies and good lyrics, mostly.

Dire Straits, for Mark Knopfler's astonishing guitar playing, musicianship and lyrical technique.

Clint Black for his jazz-influenced musical ability and versatile voice.

Aerosmith, for simply being the best rock 'n roll back in the world.

Stevie Ray Vaughn.. Har, yes - The best blues guitarist that ever lived. If Mark Knopfler is my inspiration, SRV is my hero.

Alabama for being the Aerosmith of country music and for managing to sound down-home and polished at the same time.

Queen, because unlike Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury actually is a man for whom musicians should mourn.

Rush, because nobody, not even Mark Knopfler, writes lyrics like Neil Peart.

p.s. I forgot one imporant one:

The Eagles, because no one outside of the Beach Boys has done four-part harmony that good.

Oh, my. We have a lot of the same taste in music (see my Aerosmith list above- actually got to meet them twice, and I'M NOT WORTHY)

I agree with you completely about Freddie Mercury....what an absolute MUSICIAN he was!

Stevie Ray Vaughan is/was the best! Kenny Wayne Shepherd is good, and getting better, but don't know if he'll ever approach the master.

Rush - what can I say? Only time a bass was used for lead, and what a band for a concert!

Alabama....well, there I kinda disagree, but not because of their music, but because I live maybe 20 miles from them, have met them all several times, and, well, to put it politely, they're buttheads.

Eagles......no one does it the way they did.

You're a poetry nut too, I've noticed. Wouldn't happen to have read her brother's book 'House of Leaves' would you?

~lucky (listened to Haunted for nearly 3 weeks straight in my car when I first got it.)
