I just watched it last night -- and I agree with you -- not good at all. The premise is interesting but the movie was disjointed and the dialogue pretty mediocre. Special effects were good, but that's about all.

The book goes back and forth, as does the movie. I've paused it to post this.

I think the book would bring clarity to many things in the movie...though it all really doesn't get tied in until the end. It's like reading two stories.

It was recommended by a Litster, and I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone to read it.
