I watched the first episode last night...it s not like any Period drama I've seen...much more colourful and raunchy!

Thanks. I finished it night before last. It wasn’t bad, especially for what it was. Now I’m re-watching Bones, but that’s through Prime so I wasn’t counting it. Oooh, I just remembered I have an episode of Prodigal Son to watch. Yay!

For those enjoying Bridgerton, also try The Great (not sure if it's on Netflix there - it was on an alternative service here, so may be there as well). Also a slightly off-centre period piece, funnier, more sex, also takes a while to get into.
In fact, worth trying even for those not enjoying Bridgerton, as it is a somewhat different beast.

It's worth giving Bridgerton a couple of episodes before dismissing it - it definitely gets better as it goes.

The Great is on Hulu in the US. Far better than Bridgerton. The acting is so good.

I’m enjoying it so far but I am only four episodes in. I am enjoying it mostly for the story of the complexity of female friendship as it endures throughout their life. I struggle a little with the actress that plays Tully but I am still really enjoying. The soundtrack is also full of lovely flashbacks and songs I haven’t heard in forever which is fun.

Thanks! I just looked it up and looks like Tully is played by Katherine Heigl, who is not one of my favorite actresses. When I saw her in it during the preview I grimaced a little and wished they had cast someone else.
