I was both?

And today years old when I realized not everyone else did that...

And I married a dude who is the same #lol

Did anyone else ever get lost in the rabbit hole that was random Wikipedia articles?

My grandparents gave me my very own set of encyclopedias for Christmas when I was about nine. Spicy heaven! 🤩
That's awesome. Did y'all have door to door encyclopedia salespeople back in the day? I used to think that was an oddly cool job. I just wished they sold dictionaries.

Subscribed. I have never been diagnosed with it. But i am pretty sure i have it. Pretty positive. These memes all ring true.

This is the story of how I discovered I have ADHD... twice. 😄

A couple of years ago I was googling inattentive type ADHD in girls because one of my younger daughters was really struggling. I realized that I had a lot of the same behaviors, did a quiz, et voilà! I messaged my older daughters OMG I THINK I HAVE ADHD! IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! They agreed.

A year later, daughter is struggling again, I go back to Google, recognize the behaviors in myself as well as my daughter, took a quiz, message my older girls OMG I THINK I HAVE ADHD! IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!

🙄

Their response:. We knew that a year ago, Mom.

😂😞😂

Overall Score: 5 / 6
Inattention 7 / 9
Hyperactivity/Impulsivity 2 / 9

Your results indicate that you are experiencing some signs of ADHD.

These results are not meant to be a diagnosis. You can meet with a doctor or therapist to get a diagnosis and/or access therapy or medications. Sharing these results with someone you trust can be a great place to start.

Hmmm... maybe I just don't WANT to focus. :(

What test is this! I would def talk to a psychiatrist of you are able to or w.e doctor can diagnose you.

When you answer the questions don't answer them applying the coping mechanism you have learn to make up for the adhd. If that makes any sense!

Either way you're welcomed here!

I first got tested in pate 2019 along w a bunch of tests when i first started therapy but i don't think i was at a place to be honest w myself lol and that's not why i was there

Then in 2022 i was in session w my therapist in person since the pandemic and i was talking and talking and talking and i could hear myself moving from one topic to the next and i was aware i couldn't find the reason to all my babling and i literally said outloud "omg do I have adhd" and the therapist gave me the test and yup I do lol

I am not versed in the difference between the two, but I think I have an idea. I think i may have a touch or a lot of ADD, but not ADHD.

Hello hello!!... Let's talk about body image/confidence and ADHD

I was in another thread and I asked if feeling negatively about one's body was an ADHD symptom, or if ADHD exacerbates low confidence/dislike in one's body etc etc. As you all very well know because I won't shut up about it, I go to therapy and self esteem has been a subject throughout and now that I know I have ADHD I think about it through that lens

Someone else said:
Absolutely it does!
Body dysmorphia is a massive component of it. Add to that rejection sensitive dysphoria and you’ve got a complete shit show.

And 🤯🤯... Maybe it's obvious but since I'm "newly" diagnosed I'm fascinated by all the little things I learn!

I obviously went to google because what better way to avoid actual work than to go on a google search about this stuff and found this Idk who this CHADD is and I didn't read the whole thing but what I read seem interesting and accurate.

I would love to read your thoughts on this! How was ADHD affect your body image, self esteem, confidence, your relationship with yourself, your relationships with others etc etc.

Ok back to work...
