What's your take on the various types of incest?

Sibling/sibling, cousins, aunt/uncle/niece/nephew, step-whatever is OK though I try to avoid older male >> younger for some reason.

Curiosity question - I suspect most I&T writers are men, but for the women who write in the category, what relationship do they generally write? Does anyone have a feel for that?

I've written cousins, step-brother/step-sister, and aunt/nephew (although not biologically related, he's from her ex husband's side of the family).

I don't buy the "bridge too far argument" for any of it, but mom/son or dad/daughter don't interest me. Never had a story idea where it made sense and haven't gone looking for one.

Like Simon, I'm the father of two daughters, so I had an initial hesitation to write a father daughter story. My fear was if anyone ever found it that they'd think I had those types of thoughts. I eventually pushed past it-the fact my daughters were both over 18 and no longer living at home I think helped a little bit-and have written a handful of them.

In the taboo rankings, D/D is well behind sibling and not even within sight of mom/son, and my opinion has always been a double standard that exists not just in taboo, but erotica itself.

In mother son you have a parent/adult child dynamic, and in all parent/child situations the parent should know better, and unlike siblings who are peers, this is not an even relationship. You were raised to obey your parent, your parent-even as a lover in a fantasy story-will always be 'above' you because its ingrained in you. Therefore, this can be seen as an abuse of power. Yet, few if any see that in mom/son, they see it as a hot cougar with her personal cub, a young man with his very own Milf. Its a hot sexy older woman and what young man says no?

But father daughter has a different feel to it. No matter what the author's intent is, there is an inherent feel of abuse involved. The same power imbalance no one cares about in mom/son seems much creepier in a father daughter story. Same with aunt/uncle. Aunt, the hot milf, uncle, the sick creep who preys on his niece.

Due to that, I have usually written the daughter as the aggressor who teases and instigates the attraction while having the father conflicted over his desires, even to where, in a couple of stories there's the "what the hell is wrong with me, this is my daughter, this is sick!' to try and alleviate some of that predatory air the pairing can carry.

So you mentioned having two daughters IRL. Fantasy is fantasy, but do you even allow your mind to visualize penetrating either of them? I can't do it, but was wondering if others did.... in their minds. I am sure attraction existing or not is also a factor. I don't. I picture the characters I've created that having nothing to do with my own family members and I have a good looking family.

Do most people imagine their own family, or a fantasy family that has no bases in reality? Sometimes I don't even picture myself (and while I'm an athletic, good looking guy--so I've been told) I substitute me for my alter ego, which is the ultimate me, dialed up to hundred and replaced with everything I consider perfect.

I don't picture it, but I have gotten off on seeing other people who do or getting them to do that if I sense that in them.

Probably depends on the person.

Over time I'd say most people who have reached out to me to discuss stories or taboo in general know the line between fantasy and reality. Some have admitted to a crush of sorts on a sibling, or a mom/dad complex, but nothing that would lead to some type of action.

But there's a small percentage of the type to e-mail me with the 'reminds me of when I fucked my-fill in the blank-I generally think they're blowing smoke, or maybe I want to because some of these 'events' are not all consensual. Hazard of writing in the genre I suppose. Its the we get all kinds...

This is a hard "Hell no!" And this is true of ALL incest for me. It's not something that I actually ever fantasize about in a real way. I have no interest in relatives. It's an area where for me there's a hard and clear separation between literary fantasy and real fantasy. I like the naughty taboo aspect of incest, but only in a purely fictional sense. As I look back on my early life I realize the extent to which I grew up with a strong sense of inhibition, so exploring taboo stories is a way of dealing with and breaking free of that.

Personally, I struggle a bit more with the incest within the nuclear family. Not saying it can't be hot, I've read a couple of good stories on here about brothers and sisters hooking up, but I tend to like a degree of separation. Cousins, uncle/aunt and niece/nephew, adopted family, step-whatever and the likes just so it feels a little less weird.

And I'm sure part of that is that I've never seen my mother or sister as attractive in that way, and most all of my cousins are dudes, which isn't my cup of tea.

I'm working on a story right now that is a guy with his step-daughter and niece, with the girls initiating the whole thing.

I’ll have to check them out. I think it was you that had some other very good stories as well. I’m still struggling to get past the lit police who think my story is AI (which chat GPT won’t do. LOL). I did get my first poem out though which is cool here but mortifying if anyone else ever found it and associated it to me.

I think brother-sister probably is the most pure and the most acceptable. Power imbalances exist in any relationship and this is the one where there is the least among nuclear-relatives.

What is also nice about it is that there are probably real reasons why the sex would be really amazing. Being the combination of the same two parents, there's probably a decent likelihood (though not always) that siblings might do really well together in bed. Have similar rhythms, desires. They might even on average, have genitals perfectly designed to fit each other "just right". Same factory, similar parts.

Funny things like Dads not thinking any guy is good enough for his daughter.....but if it's his own son - an ideally good son, successful man. Who could be better in taking care of her?

If genetic risks and the taboo didn't exist, I think it would be amazing to see how many brothers and sisters might decide to hook up permanently.

I've written brother/sister, have some father/son and mother/son in one of my 750 word stories, but can't seem to come to grips with father/daughter. It just seems a bridge too far. I know it's just me, but maybe not. I was wondering how others felt.

Is there a taboo too far in that world?

I have only glanced through some of the responses on here. But it seems to me that most of the authors here are at least somewhat disconnected from the folks over on the threads, who are a much more open-minded and adventurous than some of these responses might indicate, and possibly some of their potential audiences. Of course, all of you authors should, as always, write what you want to and are comfortable with.

I'm personally not too keen on parent-child relationships, even though my highest rated and most widely read story involves a threesome involving a mother, son, and daughter; but writing about that was very weird for me. To the point where I established clear boundaries in the story itself.

As the daughter of a hardworking single dad, I could never bring myself to write a story involving a Father/Daughter relationship because whenever I think of a father, I think of my dad. He bent over backwards to make sure me and him had food on the table growing up since my mom skipped town on the both of us when I was just three years old.

Grandparent-Grandchild stories are just.....too eww for me.

Whenever I do write I/T stories, I usually go for Brother-Sister or Cousins since there isn't a terribly big power dynamic involved with those types of relationships.

I have toyed with the idea of having a Mother-Son, Aunt/Uncle-Niece/Nephew story in a Sci-Fi setting to mitigate said power dynamics to make myself feel more comfortable but it's just been on the drawing board.
