When does Joe Biden's Senility timetable become an issue?

And would it be out of bounds for another democratic candidate, during a debate, to say words to the effect,"Joe, I think you're a nice guy who has tried to do some good during your time in office, but you simply don't comprehend information as well as you might have, say, 10 years ago."

The same could be said for all the angry old white men who voted for Trump. As well as Trump himself!

Except old bastards like yourself and others aren't running for President, just the old bastard Biden. So, we don't have to worry about your senility and approaching Alzheimers sitting in the White House.

Well the difference is that it seems like Trump is going to be (practcially) unopposed for the Republican nomination, and his base has chosen to interpret his habit of blurting(wrong) things out as his mischievous way of trolling opponents, whether true or not. The Biden situation isn't quite the same.

You claim to be "less than 50", so I seriously doubt you remember what a dumpster fire Reagan's second term was (Iran-Contra anyone?).

Having said that, the OP has a valid point: Biden, Sanders AND Trump are all past their "best used by" date.

It's time to pass the torch to a new, younger generation.

Tell me about the Reagan 2nd term. I read somewhere he died of Alzheimers but I don't remember reading it had anything to do with his time in Office.

Trump is the mental superior of any of the Democrats running today. He has them totally flummoxed. Everything they try on him blows up in their face. They have no idea how to handle him, none whatsoever. He out thinks them, he outflanks them, he out communicates them, and Americans love him for it. The truth is Rob, you guys are fucked come 2020. The Democrat party has turned itself into everything productive Americans hate and fear.

"You talk about racist, Hollywood is racist. What they’re doing with the kind of movies they’re putting out is actually very dangerous for our country," President Trump told reporters Friday without citing any examples.

Here’s your fucking crazy loonytune right here.

trump makes biden look sane, healthy, on point, and a very viable threat to him

It's already an issue. If he were 66 instead of 76, he'd be a heavy favorite to be the next president.

But here's the thing: the political opposition always wants the media to make something an "issue," but there's no substitute for doing that yourself. Biden's opponents aren't likely to bring it up because old folks are not just Biden's best demographic, they're the most reliable voters. Trump is hinting at it, but he's only 3 1/2 years younger than Biden and believes airports existed in the late 18th century.

Biden would be 82 before his first term ended. I don't know how many people are "fine" at 76 but are showing real signs of mental decline by 82, but I feel safe in saying it's somewhere in the double digits of percentages.

Yes, I think Biden is too old and is noticeably slowing down. The rub is that most of the other contenders are too young and lack the experience that would be best. In many respects, the public presidential debate vehicle is largely irrelevant to the functions of the job. Being fast on your feet when being publicly challenged is a very nice to have, but the actual job is different from that. What is most important in a presidency is the support structure that comes with the position. Trump is a total loss in that on the "all the best people" joke of those he surrounds himself with and his own faulty perception of his job.

Biden (and most of the other Democratic contenders and some of the Republican "could be's" as well) would be fine--and leap years ahead of Trump--in the actual job, with a VP being trained up but already able to step in, as needed.

In terms of age, Biden, yes, is past it, but so are Trump and Sanders (and Hillary if she chose to come back into a field where all of the rest were on the ground with knives in their backs).

So, the guy who has the job and under whose watch the economy is going well is a "total loss". Yet, the guy who wants the job, but whom you admit is "too old" and is "noticeably slowing down" would be light years ahead of Trump.

Yeah, if that doesn't show a complete lack of logic on the basis of partisanship, nothing does.

BTW, what does "leap years ahead" mean? I assumed you meant "light years" but...

I don't think Biden's senility is an issue.
Let's face it he doesn't have snowballs chance in hell of winning. Come to mention it, none of the democratic ticket have a chance against Trump.
The real issue here is Trump's senility. No one has the guts to address that mounting problem and you can bet the family farm that he is going to drag the USA down to its lowest level, in every respect, over the next 6 years.
It is going to be the best reality TV show ever produced.
I've bought a new lazy boy armchair, I'm stockpiling the popcorn and Diet Coke already as I prepare to sit in comfort and watch the fun.

First, of course it's an issue because it's being discussed openly as an issue.

And, second, you don't have the foggiest assurance that Biden couldn't win. How many said the same thing about Trump up until election day 2016?

Such assertions wipe out the rest of the argument, whatever that was, because there didn't seem to be any reason to continue reading the post.

Seriously!? You snowflake liberals seriously believe that any of the democratic contenders have a chance to displace trump in 2020? You're deluded.

You need to be less doctrinaire. Trump could be dead in 2020. the man is 73, grossly overweight, wolfs down greasy burgers, is viscerally hated by millions in addition to trying to hold the tails of thousands of crazy gun nuts he's screwing, and golfs nearly every weekend in the open air at known golf courses, for fuck's sake. Your sweeping assertions are what are funny. I won't even call you a rightist. I'd just consider you lunkheaded. :D

And, certainly, obviously a nervous wishful thinker.

Bernie is the only Democratic candidate that can beat Trump.

Same answer to you as to MushroomMoments. It's a long, painful, treacherous road to November 2020. You don't have any special knowledge of that particular future, and you lose all credibility to claim that you do.

Well... Here's hoping... Dead by 2020.
That would ruin the best reality TV show in history.
For the record, I'm a socialist from way back.

He had brain surgery a while back and it made him a bit eccentric.

The moment he's not the front runner and the great white hope to beat Trump.

Until then, "That's just Joe..."
