When RP takes control IC thread

Skyler

She was shocked, but relieved to see Dominic as he leapt from the bushes and slammed his staff across the guys back. She was still unable to move, she had no idea what the hell this guy had done to her.

She was startled as Kryss appeared at her side. She could barely move, enough to turn and look to her, “I think it was a combination of spells, something to hurt then hold.” In fact even in the darkness there was a slight blue glow on the front of Skyler’s shirt. On closer inspection Kryss would find what looked like a half-dollar sized gemlike item attached to it, and that was the source of the glow.

As of yet unknown man

He turned when Dominic hit him, he was a big man huge was more like it, and by his actions they could tell he was another player. His dark eyes gleamed in the darkness as he faced Dominic. “Oh how sweet defending the assassin that was sent to kill you.” He raised the two handed sword and stepped towards Dominic, “I should have known not to hire a woman, men always seem able to complete the job, but then I thought this little vampire bitch might have it in her to get to you as she has the other men. But I am not a patient man, you shouldn’t have left town in the first place. Now I will do what she failed to complete.”

Dominic

"I'm not a patient man either." I growled, lifting my staff into a defensive position. "And it doesn't take an oracle to see that your mission won't be completed."

Well, that was a bluff. But I can't appear afraid here....

...Skyler wants me dead? Why? I thought we were becoming friends. I thought we were becoming-SWORD!

I brought my staff up quickly to block the swinging blade. Chunks of wood from my staff blasted into the sky. He came around with another strike and I barely got my staff there in time. How was he swinging such a massive sword so quickly? I don't think I can win combat here. Let's try talking.

"Listen to me!" I yelled as we clashed again. More wood shards flew through the air. "This game has us trapped! If you kill me here, I'll die in real life! And I don't want to kill you!"

"Don't worry. You won't." He snarled and jabbed his sword out. I side stepped it and brought the staff down toward his head. He reached his hand up and caught the end. With a sharp twist, he wrenched it from my grasp. He tossed it over his head into the bushes.

"Shit!" I yelled, stepping back. He smiled and swung his sword again. I leaned back, but not far enough. The tip of the blade dug into my cheek and dragged up across the bridge of my nose. I yelled in pain; it hurt worse then anything I had ever felt; it felt like I was actually being sliced in real life. My glasses flew off onto the ground. Blood flowed freely down my nose and splattered on the ground. I tumbled back and landed harshly on the forest ground. The blood was washing my face; I felt it leak slowly into my eyes. I shook my head to get it out of my vision. When I opened my eyes again, there was the tip of his sword.

"It is a pleasure to finally get rid of you." He said simply. With my remaining energy, I rolled to the side and onto my knees. He swung his massive sword at me. I realized too late that I had no staff anymore. My hands quickly went to my belt and freed two throwing knives. I brought them up and crossed them, blocking the incoming blade. Sparks flew at the clash. I could see my blood still sparkling on his long sword.

"Why don't you just die?" The man growled.

"You first." I responded. "Slip! Blind him!"

The small green lizard crawled out of his hiding place behind me onto my shoulder. There was a hocking noise, then he spit in the big man's eyes. The man yelled and backed off, wiping his eyes. I stood up, using my sleeve to sop up as much blood as possible. I spun the knives around in my hands.

Thanks Slip.

Don't "thanks Slip" me. You nearly squished my ass. The lizard retorted. I nodded and held my knives out in a fighting stance at the offender.

"I'll say it again. I don't want to kill you. Release your grip on Skyler and get away from us. NOW."

Skyler

She watched in horror as the big man went after Dominic. She was then thankful that she couldn't move as his sword sliced Dominic's face and the scent of fresh blood filled the air.

She looked to Kryss then back to Dom, she had to help Dominic. She knew this guy had now blown what she had begun to develop with him, he would probably never trust her again. Hell she didn't blame him, she probably should have said something.

She fought hard against the spell eminating from the item clasped to the front of her shirt and reached for it, her hand moved, though it was very slowly, as if in slow motion. She grasped it and pulled the item from her shirt and dropped it to the ground. Once the item was off of her she was able to move, she was still sore but alble to move.

She got to her feet, looked to Kryss. "We've got to help him or Dirk will kill him. He'll think it is even better that the game is real, he's that much of a creep."

She winced as she moved, she fought the urge to run for Dominic, since he was still bleeding. She ran for Dirk and jumped on his back. She wrapped an arm around his neck and with her other reached for her dagger. He grabbed her and pulled her over his head, then threw her at Dominic. "Now you both will die."

He raised his sword and swung it down towards the pair, not caring who he hit first. Skyler rushed in low at his legs, knocking him off balance enough that the sword missed Dominic, but putting her where Dirk could get ahold of her. Which he did by grabbing her hair and pulling her up against him.

He dropped the sword, he knew it was heavy enough to keep Dominic or the other girl to pick it up and try to use it. He pulled a dagger from his belt and brought it to Skyler's throat. He looked to Dominic, "Another time Oracle."

He then whispered in Skyler's ear. "This is so you know you are mine. Even though you travel with others, you owe me." He then took the dagger and lightly sliced it across her neck, not deep enough to kill, but enough to hurt like hell and leave a nice scar once healed. He then threw her hard at Dominic, knocking them back against a tree.

Dirk then looked to Kryss, he seemed not at all threatened by her being there, since she was very small in size compared to him. "Don't try anything there pretty one or I will change that." He turned and left the three of them there in the woods.

Kryss~

I helped SKyler get the gem off her shirt before she finished reaching it. She got to her feet then went after him. For some reason my mind was clouded for a few moments, then seemed like out of no where, I was casting a spell didn't have to dance for it. I saw that my hands held flames, it was clear that no one else saw it. Right when I was about to point towards the guy he grabed for Skyler, then looked at me. This interupted the spell for I did not want to burn her.

"Don't try anything there pretty one or I will change that."

I just kept silent when he spoke, my hands still held the flames. This seriously shocked me more than anything. I held back, trying to make the flames die down as he left. It wasn't the fact that I didn't want to attack him, because I did. I just couldn't, never had this happen. Unsure of these flames let alone how to control them. I just sat there looking at my hands like they were not mine.

Once the guy was out of sight the flames seem to die out, Saw Skylers neck. Went up to her and put a light touch to the wound to heal it some. Still had a scar, but at least it wasn't bleeding any longer. Then I walked back to the hut, in complete silence, just looking at my hands the whole time.
Wonder why no one else saw that? Let alone how the hell is that possible? I can't use fire like that, least I'm not supose to.
As I walked off was some what talking to myself, asking these question, talking to myself in total confusion as I walked away.

Dominic

I goraned as I leaned back against the tree and closed my eyes. It was over for now. I watched Kryss heal Skyler and walk off. I was actually glad she didn't stop to heal me; the pain was keeping my mind off of everything else.

I slunk down so I was sitting down on the ground. Rain began to tumbled down from the sky and pelted my head. Water ran down my face, mixing with the blood from the cut.

My eyes wandered from my feet over to Skyler, who was sitting a few feet away from me. Her eyes were staring at the ground. I blinked the rain away and reached down, pulling my glasses from the mud.

Finally, the slience began to wear down. Skyler looked up at me, her eyes were glazed with sadness. The look she was giving me should have made me crumble and want to hold her right now.

But my eyes were glazed with betrayal.

Skyler seemed about to say something, but I cut her off. "Save it." I said shortly. "I've had enough of being lied to. I have had enough of being used. This is why you joined us, isn't it? To get to me. And why you tried to seduce me. I guess the stableboy saved my life."

"Some fucking Oracle I am...I can see some odd flicker of the future, but I can't see what was right in front of my face." I stood up slowly. "For once, I don't know what the future holds...but I don't think it involves you." I turned and walked off through the bushes. I needed to be alone. I needed to think. I needed to cry. The rain came down harder.

A few seconds after I left, Slip crawled over to Skyler and crawled up her shoulder. He stayed there for a few moments before giving her a sympathetic lick.

When it rains, it pours.

Skyler

She looked after him as he left. She didn't care about the rain, all she felt was bad for making him think that way. She looked to Slip as he crawled up to her shoulder, "It's not like he thinks not at all."

"Maybe initially, but not anymore." She just sat there, she wanted to go after him to explain. "I think it's too late now to talk with him, he hates me now."

She knew that Slip really didn't like her either and she wondered why he had stayed behind, but she felt a little better to be able to tell him something. "He has it wrong you know, I wasn't trying to seduce him in the room to kill him. I had decided long before that not to do it."

She started to stand, "Should we go after him? It isn't safe out here."

Slip

The iguana let out a sigh as he perched on her shoulder.

Look, Skyler. I don't know if I trust you. I mean, you are a vampire assassin. It doesn't get much worse than that. And after this...you really hurt Dominic bad. I really don't have a high opinion of you.

But, I also know that you are the only person who could possibly cheer him up. As much as I hate to admit it, he needs you. And I think now more than ever. So I want you to go to him, snap him out of that funk and kiss him so hard tht it rekindles that feeling in him that makes his eyes glow whenever he sees you. Or I swear to God I will give you the tail-lashing of a lifetime.

Skyler

Slip’s words hit her kind of hard, she knew the lizard hadn’t liked her from the beginning, but she really didn’t know that Dominic liked her. Of course she hoped so, since her liking of him is what really caused her to not complete what she was hired to do. She had known it was wrong to take on hits against players, but did it because Dirk paid well and she had never really run into any of the characters on his list, until now.

“I’ll go, I just hope I can get him to listen.” She reached for Slip and gently lowered him to the ground, and then she stood. “I know you don’t trust me and you have every right not to, but know this Slip, I did not want to hurt him like this.”

She turned then, and followed his faint trail; the rain was making his scent weaker by the moment. She followed quickly, not wanting anything out here to get to him. She wasn’t sure what she’d say when she caught up with him, but she sure hoped the right words would come and that he would listen.

It didn’t take her long to find him, he hadn’t gone too far before he stopped. His back was to her as she stepped into the slight clearing. She hesitated a moment before she spoke. “Dominic, I know I am the last person you wanted to talk to right now, but there are a few things you need to know.” She looked to him a moment before going on.

“Yes I was hired to take you out of the game, I actually have a fairly long list of names. But that was before… before I actually started to talk with you and get to know you. I became an assassin, because it was an easy way to make money in this game, but then I also knew it would be harder to find players, so it was an easy way to earn money and not have to really take anyone out.”

She took a breath, she didn’t know if he was really listening or not but she was going to say what she had to and then let him decide from there. “You should know, if I had wanted to go through with my job, I could have in town when I first spotted you or after we left and fought the spiders. But what happened in your room at the Inn, was not done so I could kill you, it was done because I wanted to be with you.”

She sighed then, “Well, I make one terrible assassin and right now one terrible person in general, and I will understand if you don’t want me to go any further on this quest with the group. I want you to know one thing though, meeting you in the game and now with it being our RL, has been one of the best things that happened to me in awhile. In all actuality, I wasn’t even going to do anything to harm you, I had given that up and hadn’t had time with all the changes in the game to be able to tell you that.”

She looked to him, she hoped he was listening; “Now it’s too late and I am sorry.” Then she decided to go ahead and lay her cards on the table, she knew she had been developing strong feelings for him and had been fighting them incase things got fixed in the game and they returned to RL, and he probably lived too far away to develop a relationship. “Dominic, I just want you to know I am so sorry for hurting you like this, I’ll go back and get my pack and head out on my own. You don’t need me holding you back if you don’t trust me. Just know this, I feel bad for not telling you sooner and for possibly loosing someone special, before they ever really got to be that way.”

She stopped talking, and hoped he had heard the sincerity in her words. She wanted more than anything to move closer, grab him and turn him around, look into his eyes and tell him, she had deeper feelings for him, but she was afraid she had ruined all that by keeping her mouth shut. Thinking she should have told him before now, but she had no idea she would run into Dirk like that, if ever again with the game screwed up.

She waited for what seemed like an eternity to her to see what he would say next. She was determined she would tell him of her feelings no matter how he now felt, for her she would have to get it out in the open… but then before he could speak, she made up her mind.

“Just one more thing, then I’ll stop. I want you to know, that even though we really haven’t known each other all that long, and I may not know a lot about you personally. I like you a lot, more than that and now that I have screwed that up and you hate me. I just figured you should know I am truly sorry and I don’t blame you for hating me now, but know this character I am playing is not my true personality, I just wish now that I had handled things completely different.” It was then she stopped and didn’t dare speak another word; the rain seemed to lighten up as she waited.

If he told her to go she would, she didn’t want him to hurt anymore because of her. She hated the fact that she had caused this and she wanted nothing more than to be able to fix it, but felt it was probably too bad off now to fix, it would depend on how he took what she said.

Kryss~

I was so lost in my own thoughts, wondering what the hell that was all about. I forgot about Dominic, he was hurt. Maybe even worse than Skyler was. Skyler was the only one I saw at the time, saw blood then reacted without further thought.

"Damnit how could I have forgotten to heal him. I'm so stupid." He needed to be healed, and I heal the one who betrayed us." Yelling at myself at this point, I didn't mean to not heal him. It was my job to heal everyone in the party, not just one or none.
Either way it was to late to go back, I'm sure him and Skyler need to talk and since they are not back yet, they are. I'll have to make it up to him later, he didn't seem like he was seriously bad. Though because of my stupidity, he may have been worse than I realize.

I didn't go into the hut, didn't want to wake Jas up. Instead I went to a near by tree and meditated. Trying to concentrate on what happened earlier. I was still extremly shocked by it. My spells have nothing to do with fire, even if they did, other should have seen that. It was clear as day. I was in deep thought now, concentrating on the fire, seeing how much it takes to control it. I've always liked fire and it would be awesome to control it. Even if it is just for sometime because the game is screwed up.

It really didn't take much to control at all, took a few tries to have the flame stay on my hands, once I got that down looked around for a fire pit, or something I cold use safly. There was a pit just outside the hut, for bon fires and such. At this point I was able to conjure the flames with no problems. Now was to test and see how it works, if all I do is point and burn. Yup that's all I have to do, although it was kinda touchy, had to point exactly at whatever. Kinda let a tree burn, it was a small one but it was in the way. I slowly began to work on fire balls, just to see if that was possible. Just little ones for now, tossing them into the pit.

Jasleth

Jasleth awoke to darkness, blinking in the quiet of the hut. Wind ruffled the thatched roof, and rattled some fo the looser boards. There was no other sound inside...no faint breathing of the others...no rustle of cloth or movement. How long had he been asleep?

He sat up and rolled to his feet. Sniffing the air, he detected the faint smell of water. It had rained, or was going to. No sign of the others. Feeling worried, he slipped out of the hut. It took his eyes a moment to adjust, though before that he smelled a faint scent of buring wood, heard a faint crackle of a fire. Kyrs sat not far away, small balls of fire flickering from her hands into a firepit, a look of focus on her face. Behind her was the smoking remains of a small tree. He looked around...saw nothing of Dominic or Skyler.

He padded quietly over to where the dancer rested. "Hey...looking good Kryss." He shook his head. "That's pretty sweet, I didn't know you could do that." Jsleth sank into a crouch next to her, started to reach out but pulled his arm back. Best not to disrupt her when she was flinging fire about. He looked around the cleared area again. "Ummm, have I missed something big?" "Where are the others?"

Kryss~

I hadn't thought about the balls of flame anymore, was starting them up and tossing them around like they were tenis balls or something. That's about the size of them. Didn't dare to make them any bigger. I had to create some rain to wash out the tree, it was slowly getting out of hand. That's the reason for the scent of fresh rain. The clouds still remained though, I only provoked the rain for a short time.

"Well it's about time you woke up sweetz..... I didn't know I could use fire either. I'm loving it though." giggled somewhat, throwing my last ball into the pit. Turning towards him giving him a passionate kiss, a kiss like I haven't seen him in weeks or even longer. Relentlessly pulled back from the kiss.

"ummmm well, not real sure what happened to be totally honest. Skyler went off, I assume to find food. Dom went after her, I followed. She ran into him first. Some dude by the name of Dirk... I think.... Said something about not killing Dominic like she was supose to. After a small fight, Dirk left I came back here with a feeling that Skyler and Dom needed to talk." Speaking softly as I told the story in more detail. Suddenly realizing something.

"Wait, you can see the flames in my hands? The others didn't seem to see it." hmmm oh well. i'm guessing it's part of the flaw in the game. because I'm not supose to be able to do any magic without dance. Not that I mind. Still ya know." Smiled at him, started to play with the balls again, this time mindlessly and still talking to him.

Jasleth

Jasleth made a contented rumbling sound as she pulled back from the kiss. "Well...sounds like Skyler and Dom do need to talk." "I just hope they can come to terms...we're going to need each other." "Plus...they just are too good of a team."

He rose and moved to stand behind her. His arms encircled her waist, and he stepped up so that their bodies pressed together. "Not that I mind being alone with you for a second." "I didn't think we'd get time by ourselves until we hit the Castle." he kissed the back of the neck, then bit lightly into her soft skin. "Guess it's just my lucky day...er, night."

He watched the balls of fire dance between her hands. "Fire...how very appropriate." "Reminds me of the way you move when you dance, the way the flames seems to writhe like that." He grinned, "Reminds me of other movements of yours too, but I'll not go further than that." He chuckled, then remembered his manners. "Sorry, that was kind of crass."

Dominic

My thoughts was thoroughly clouded from all this. Her words entered my head and echoed through my mind. My hands were clenched tightly around the two throwing knives, my knuckled turning white. I dropped my head in thought as she finished her speech.

"Skyler...I don't..." I cleared my throat, unable to talk. I waited a second before trying again. "Skyler, I don't want you to go away. We need each other to find a way out of here. I said I would do the best to get you out of here, and I will stick to that promise."

"I...I believe you Skyler. I don't...I don't hate you because of what you were sent to do. But I can't forgive you."

I turned around to face her. I brushed the wet hair out of my eyes. "What angers me is that you didn't tell me. That's why I don't trust you...That's why...."

My voice stopped and I had to pause to swallow. When I started again, I changed subjects. "I had a vision. While in this clearing, I had a vision about you. To see what would happen after this. You left us. You went your own way. And you died. You were ambushed by some rogue mages and thrown from a tall cliff. You died when you hit the rocks below."

"That's why you can't leave. If you did...and you died...because of me...I couldn't live with that."

I turned back around, my back to her. "I overreacted back there. Beyond what I should have. Most of what I said back there was out of anger. Just in blind rage. I took the word of some insane murderer over the word of a friend. I was just being foolish. That's why I can't forgive you. Because you are the one who should be forgiving me."

I finally unclenched my hands and let the knives drop to the soft ground. "I also wish I handled things differently. But I know this much...the past we can't change; the future we can. And I want to change the future." I turned back around. "Will you forgive me Skyler?"

Skyler

She stood there and listened, she didn’t know why he was turning this around. He did what she would have expected to with her not telling him about what she had been hired to do.

His news of his vision stunned her, the thought of leaving was strong in her mind, now she was unsure if it was a good choice, in all actuality, knowing about the vision scared her.

She stood quietly as he spoke. He let her speak and she was going to let him say what he needed to say as well. Then he turned away once more, she couldn’t believe he had just said it was she who needed to be forgiving him for his actions. It was when he dropped them to the ground that she realized he still had his knives in hand.

Then he turned to face her again, "Will you forgive me Skyler?"

She wasn’t sure what to do, how to react, so did the first thing that came to mind, hoping it was the right thing to do, she stepped to him, looked into his eyes and then without saying a word she reached for him pulled him close and then kissed him. It was not just a light little friendly kiss, it was a passionate, want to make you forget everything around you for a very long time kiss.

Then realizing that might not have been the most appropriate thing to do she took a step back and looked to him. “Dominic, I’m sorry. I should have told you before now, honestly I had decided not long after the incident in the alley that I wasn’t going to do anything and then with the changes in the game and me worrying too much about getting out of it or fixing it, I forgot to tell you. If you’re willing to forgive me then I am willing to do the same.”

Kryss~

"A good team, possibly more. It was almost like they were meant for eachother."
"Just wish they could see that, seems like they are doing everything cept realizing that."
"Oh well no matter, it's not my place for such things."

Threw the last two balls of flame into the pit, turning my head to face him.
"No need to be sorry, I accept that as a compliment."
"I am also more than happy that we were able to get time alone as well." Softly spoken, looking deep into his eyes brining us into another more passionate kiss, this time not breaking it for nothing.

Jasleth

Jasleth's senses were full of nothing but Kryss as they kissed. All he felt was her in his arms, the warm pressure of her body against his, the sweet taste of her mouth against his, the sound of thier lips brushing together, of their quickening breaths. HIs wine red eyes watched her face as they kissed, hers closed, studying the minute details of her skin, of how her hair fell against her smooth blue skin. His tongue gently brushed her lips, then twined around hers as she opened her mouth in response to his silent offer.

As the kiss deepened, Jasleth found himself assailed by more than the pleasure of the kiss and his frighteningly strong feelings for the slender dancer. This was crazy, they'd known each other for what...four days? Four days in the Game, no matter how real it had become. How could he feel so strongly when he barely knew her? He discarded that thought as irrelevent. He was enough of a romantic to believe that people could just click. Maybe he and Kryss were just right for each other...but...was Kryss Kyrss? He didn't know anything about her player...Damn it. Why was he thinking about this now? Enjoy it, enjoy her. When they found out what was wrong with the Game and fix it...he'd be back in RL. He might never see her after that.

Doubt sprang into hsi mind as it had back in town. Did he really want this to end? The quest was all he could drea, of, as was the woman in his arms, neither of which awaited him in the dull mundanity of his life outside the Game. Did he really want things to be fixed? Of course, he did. Of course. Who would want to be stuck this forever? Jasleth found himself desperately aware that right at that moment, he wanted just that.

Kryss must have sensed the dark turn of his thoughts. Instead of breaking the kiss, she pressed tighter into him, her arms crushing the two of them together. Her lips and tongue spoke for her, comforting him, teasing him, driving the troubles from his mind.

After an glorious eternity, Jasleth broke the kiss, looking downa t her and smiling, a faint flush on his face. "Your kisses would drive ment o kill, love." He laughed softly. "You know...the fire shouldn't surprise you." "You've been lighting fires in me since we met." "It's just a physical manifestation of what you've had all along." He was about to speak further, when a rustle in the trees brought his head snapping up, eyes fierce and alert. A trio of bats broke from a nearby elm and flapped off into the night, Jasleth sighing with relief. Damn. He wanted to stay right there, but maybe they should move inside. Who knew what was in the forest? Her soft, throaty laugh at his sudden shift made him grimace, then grin. Screw whatever was in the forest. He was The Prodigious Youth! And he had a lady to tend to.

He turned his gaze back to her, one hand coming up to toy with her hair as he spoke. "Normally, I'd do anything to keep you right where you are." "However, there's a nice patch of moss inthe moonlight over there that looks like it would fit two nicely." His tone became overdramatically weary, "the power of your kiss had left me weak."

He then grinned wickedly as he swept her off her feet, leaping over to the verdant spot, ignoring her small yelp of surprise. "I need to lie down...and so do you." He them tumbled to the cool moss, rolling over so that the couple were ontheir sides, their arms still wrapped about one another. "There...I know I feel better." His hand returned to playing with her hair as he leaned his face in and kissed her again, his tongue and hers joyfully wrestling, as the silvery moonlight washed over the two young lovers as if in benediction.

Dominic

Our eyes connected for a few seconds that felt like an eternity. My breaths was slow and labored. The only sound for a few moments was the soft breathing noises we were making.

Then, I reached out and grabbed her shoulders. "I forgive you, Skyler." I said and pulled her close to me, kissing her with the same passion she had earlier. I encircled her in my arms, the remaining rain dripping down off my hair.

After a few seconds, I pulled away, regaining my thoughts. "No, no." I shook my head. "This isn't right. Not with what's going on between you and Jasleth."

Jasleth

As they broke the kiss to breathe, Jasleth smiled down at her. Not saying a word, he traced the line of her jaw with one finger, just marveling at the beaty of Kryss's face. His hand then lightly ran down the graceful curve of her neck to rest at her clooarbone, just above the swell of her breasts. "Have I mentioned how gorgeous you are?" "I don't remember if I have...but I know I sure should." He leaned and kissed her neck, moving his kisses down to the collar of her top, nipping lightly at the material. "Kryss, love...I know this'll sound corny, or cheap...but I don't think we should let a night like tonight go to waste."

Skyler

They stood there for a moment and it was like nothing else mattered, then he reached out and grabbed her shoulders, ”I forgive you Skyler.”, then pulled her close again for another very passionate kiss. She was thrilled to be in his arms, but the moment ended too soon as he broke the kiss.

”No, no.” She looked to him a bit confused as he shook his head. ”This isn’t right. Not with what’s going on between you and Jasleth.”

She looked to him a moment before it dawned on her, he thought she was getting involved with Jasleth. She started to smile, “That’s not what you think. There’s nothing going on between us, he’s falling for Kryss. The only thing going on between him and I is he reiterated his offer to let me drink from him if I needed to. I think he just didn’t want to make everyone else nervous in the fact of his offer.”

She let her eyes meet his. “I am going to do my damndest not to feed off of anyone in the party. That’s why I ran off earlier.” She grabbed the hem of her shirt and ripped off a strip of cloth, she stepped forward and reached up and patted the blood from his face. “We need to get this taken care of, the bleeding has stopped which is good, but we need to get it healed some.”

Dominic

Of course...Jasleth was just being nice. It all made sense now that I stopped to think about it. I made a mental note to strangle Slip later.

I nodded to her as she put a strip of cloth across the cut on my face to soak up the remaining blood. "Yeah..." I'm glad that my cheeks were still blood-stained as it hid my embaressment for misinterpreting her relationship with Jas and the fact that her soaked shirt just got shorter. "I suppose we should get going back. The others are probably wondering..." I turned, then checked her neck. The cut was pretty well healed; Kryss had done a good job.

"Good. Your wound is doing well." I said. I ran a finger over the cut, then put my arm around her shoulders. The rain had severly dropped the outside temperature and it had gotten pretty cold.

"So tell me about this 'Dirk' guy. Why does he have it out for me?"

Skyler

“Maybe we should get back it is a little chilly now that the rain is stopping.” Oh that’s great state the obvious. She tensed slightly as he touched the place on her throat where Dirk had cut her, Kryss had indeed done a good job in healing it, there was still an angry red mark where the cut had been, and once the wound was completely healed there would definitely be a scar there.

She slipped an arm about his waist as they began to walk back towards the huts where they had made camp. She stopped and picked up her dropped cape as they passed back by the spot where Dirk had caught her.

“Dirk, huh? Well all I know is he is another player, that has it out for anyone he feels will end up giving him a challenge and win. He decided to take out other players and hired plenty of assassins to accomplish this. Which wasn’t bad before when you died and could just reboot. I don’t know what he has out for you specifically, the pay was good and the experience gained from the job was what I was after.”

She hesitated, “But like I said that was before I actually met you.” They stopped just before entering the clearing the huts were in, she could see the glow of the fire before they had even left the trees. “Well they have gotten a fire started.” She didn’t realize the double meaning of her words until they stepped from the trees and saw the two of them there by the fire pit.

Kryss~

I didn't want to be anywhere else in the world right now. His arms felt incredible. Thoughts of what was going to happen when and if this game would be fixed. Laying next to him took all fears and other thoughts vanish.

"Jas, M'love... I don't want to break the mood... But... well.. if and when this game becomes normal..... What will become of us?" Me and you that is... I want to be with you more than anything.... yet fearful of never seeing you again.."

My words were soft abd delicate, my fingers played in his hair as I never look from his eyes. Just before kissing him, whispering

"I have fallin deep and hard for you... I ... I love you!" I was hesitant about those words. Every time I have said them before I would get hurt. I wasn't sure how he felt about them, nor did I care at this moment I kissed his again. Even though I heard the other two coming back I did not care, it felt so right to be here with him. I kept the kiss going as long as he would allow.

I stepped out into the clearing and saw the fire pit next to the huts. "Where are Jas and Kryss?" I asked, scanning the area. "I see one of them, but not the other."

Skyler coughed and pointed something out. "Oh...one is under the other...I see." I coughed as well, clearing my throat. "Well..uh...should we try for the huts or stay out in the woods longer? I don't want to intrude on them."

Skyler

"Well I think if we are quiet enough we can make our way to the hut without bothering them." She took his hand and then took a few steps forward, not paying attention to the actions of the other two.

And as she had said they were able to make thier way to the hut where their gear and Slip awaited without bothering Kryss and Jas at all. She thought they probably didn't even realize that her and Dominic had returned.

As we stealthly entered the hut, I noticed Slip was sitting on a bed post, looking forelorn. He immediatly cheered up upon seeing me in a better mood.

Well, Mr. Mopey decides to return. The lizard said, crossing his stubby arms. Have you decided to be civil now and not storm off anymore?

Scram. I said simply. Tomorrow, you and I are going to have a long talk. The lizard got the impression it wasn't going to be a pleasant talk and politely excused himself, crawling into my backpack.

I sat down on my bed. My eyes moved to the cut on her neck. I grimaced, thinking of how bad I wanted to hurt that Dirk bastard. "So, Skyler, what did Dirk mean when he said 'you are mine' and 'you owe me'? What does he have over you?"
