When RP takes control IC thread

Jasleth

Jasleth looked back over his shoulder at Skyler's words. He hadn't been expecting that. The fighter part he knew, it was obvious to his eyes...although there was something odd about that too. Maybe it was just the vampire aspect, that certainly would change the way one fought. He stood slowly, and turned so that both the archer and the others were in his sight.

"Vampire, huh?" He rubbed at his chin speculatively, "Hmmm, I bet you have some powers that could come in real handy." "Now I definately want you on the team." He shrugged, "Can't say that the vampire thing completely thrills me, but I don't know you." "Just being a vampire doesn't make you bad, it's what you do with your power, you know?" "I could be one evil son of a ***** if I wanted to, it's all about choices." He grinned at the striking woman, "I guess I'm saying that I'm willing to give you just as much credit as anyone else."

"More importantly though, I do realize that I should have introduced myself. earlier." "Dominic and I have been introduced, though just briefly." "Forgot, my manners, heat of the moment, I guess." Jasleth bowed low to the assembled group, before striking a dramatic pose. "I am Jasleth, The Prodigious Youth!" "I'm hipper than Jet Li, and sexier than Chow Yun Fat!" "I cannot be defeated!" He winked and grinned broadly, showing that he was playing around. Partially, anyway

"I know the name's a mouthful." "A lot of folks just call me Jas, so feel free." "Skyler, Kryss, it's a definate pleasure." He laughed, "Sorry about the intro, I got carried away." He turned a look to the archer, "Like I said, I act before I think sometimes." "May we have the honor of your name?"

A taper finger went to rub at her chin.

Treasure was always good - company was too. But mayhaps this was the wrong sort of crowd that she wanted to get invovled with. Already the addition of the other girls made her cringe inwardly. She didn't mind the vamp...whatsherface, Skylar, but that other one, the dancing witch, she would be trouble.

"If there is an addition of another to this party, I'll join. But for the time being, I dunno. I don't like being around tramps or lying monks." A gesture to Skylar. "She seems to be the only one suitable for travelling with. There's nothing that says that you or the wench won't go back on your word about this treasure thing. If I see an honorable deed from you and her, then I'll join."

She glanced back over to the vampire. Hum. In fact, she seemed to be the most welcoming out of them all. So why not make friends with her first? Right hand was held out to her.

"I'm Soliel Etoile. No fancy introduction, the name should say it all." Her left folded across her chest as she bowed slightly.

The rest would be ignored as she stood next to the vampire, wishing that she was taller. A cliche in the people so far, but that was to be expected in this Game where no one had any appreciable imagination. Already you had the cocky bastard, the slut, and the mystery woman. She beamed to herself, priding her own actions. It was good to be stubborn, better to be a rude little witch.

Skyler

She smiled briefly as introductions were made. She liked the Archer's attitude, she even liked the name, and wished she had been more imaginative when creating her own. Well so much for not knowing what you were doing when first starting out.

She smiled towards Soliel as she came closer. "Nice to meet you as well, Soliel. Nice to meet you all, it's not often I get asked to join an adventuring party."

She cut her words short, she wasn't going to be the talkative on ein the group, they annoyed her even when she was in a good mood.

She glanced over to the Oracle, as he was yet to speak.

Jasleth

Jasleth ground his teeth in frustration. Damn it to hell, why did he ever try to be clever? Soliel did have a point though...what he had done had been a bit deceptive, even if it had just been one of his skills in use.

He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand. "All right, fine." "Look, I said I'm sorry and I meant it." "I didn't mean to offend anyone's honor, but if you want me to prove myself I will." He crossed his arms over his chest, tryng not to let his temper flare, "Did you have a specific task or deed in mind?" "Or should I just improvise?" "How about this?" "I give you everything I get that isn't cash money or a Monk-specific item." "I'll thinkof it as a fine for my...," he wanted to say preventing a huge fight, but thought better of it, "lying to you." "Fair?" "I'll even let you search me if you think I'm holding something back."

It hurt to offer, but he wanted to hit the castle hard and good archers were hard to come by. OF course, there was also the fact that his pride was hurt by the continuing accusations. He constantly went out of his way to help out new players, bail people out of trouble, and now he needed to prove his honor? It was taking a lot of control not to blow up at the arrogant bowman. It was fine for him to just go tossing arrows around at anyone who annoyed him, but try and prevent bloodshed? You monster.

"Well, what do you think?"

The she wanna be man was slowly starting to get on my nerves, but I didn't show it. With almost arrogant tone all I said was

"Well I don't have and nor will I *prove * myself worthy of anyones company. I am here because I have nothing else to do and I want to kill things. As for loot, well, I could care less about that. So like I said tuff titty said the kitty. If you do not like me, then stay away from and don't speak to me or call me anymore of those petty names."
Ok so it wasn't as short as I'd like and may have shown alittle irritation in the words. Oh well, it's true. I didn't care for people that accused me of such things, wpecialy when they know nothing about me, like everyone else that did what she is doing, I just simply ignored them.

I could have and was tempted to say, least I don't go around pretending I'm a male. I held my tongue on that one. I'm more than sure she has her reasons. Less she's just one extremely confused little girl.

I could tell that the monk was getting upset, he didn't need to prove anything either. She's just full of it.
"Well, shall we go?" Trying to act alittle excited, trying to lose the damn tension that's between all of us. Looking back at the damn archer, wanting her infront because if she did shoot another one of those messed up arrows at me, she will wake up with them gone. I may not know how to use this little dagger, but we'll also find out if it is poison, who know maybe it'll make her crotch itch with madness. Slight grin came at that thought.

Looked back at Jasleth wanting to take his hand to hopefully calm him down abit. I held back on that, it was strange, I was almost starting to feel something for this guy, and he's just another chara, interesting. I don't like it.

I started to walk in the general direction of where we were headed. Trying and hoping to get things moving.

"Kuh...!" Came her expression of bored digust. Waving her hand as if to dismiss him, she spoke again.

"You can't BUY honor, Monk - you should know that."

Really, she wasn't too impressed by this little rag-tag band, as she had thought to herself before. A hand was held up to silence the dancing girl.

"Silence, wench! Your barking troubles my ears no little bit. Perhaps you need a bone between those lips to keep em shut."

A sly grin crossed her face. It was a loaded statement and she knew it - and was even all the more smug in her ability to have generated such a comment. Wit was one thing that she certainly was not lacking in, not by any means. She remained by Skylar's side. Something was telling her that this woman would probably be the most trust-worthy one in this group, and allying herself to someone like that would be most beneficial to the both of them.

Hell, she knew she wasn't the cheating kind - although she did lie. Well, not to her friends, but to others! So, two honest people equals no one getting screwed over.

Jasleth

"Damn it!" "It was a fair offer, you don't need to throw it in my face!" Jasleth curled his hands into fists, struggling to remain calm. "Stay cool...don't make thing worse." "You need a good archer...and he's real good to tag my headband like that."

Taking a deep breath, he pulled himself back. "Excuse my outburst," he said trying somewhat unsuccessfully to keep heat out of his voice. "I'm not used to having my honor questioned...especially since my sin was preventing a fight." "You think I'll run off with loot, or leave you in a bind." He was unbuckling the bracer on his right arm as he spoke. "You're wrong." "When I'm in a team, I give my all to them." "I'm the first one into a fight and if things go south, I give everyone else time to get out." "Honor debts are blood debts, and I'll shed blood for my teammates."

As the bracer clanged to the ground, he turned to face Skyler. "I apologize for involving you in our dispute, but I need your help." "I can shed my blood to prove myself, but it wouldn't do anyone any good...unless you take it." "If you haven't fed tonight and need the blood, take mine." He held out his unprotected arm, his other hand tapping the artery at the wrist. "I offer it freely as proof of my dedication to my companions."

He looked over at Kryss, "Sorry to keep you waiting Kryss, Dominic." "It was my stupid duel that caused this problem, and I have to make amends." "Honor is one of the few possesions I do have...and I won;t have it questioned." He looked again to the archer and the vampire. "Do you accept this?"

"A fight you would have started...." She murmured to the sky, wide crimson orbs drinking in the endless field of blue.

Dedication this, dedication that. Who did he think he was fooling? If he was being honest, then he wouldn't be so easy to rile. She ran the strap to her bow along her chest absently, watching the offered wrist.

The show meant nothing, but she didn't want to see him done in by his own fool-hardy ways.

"Let her drink if she needs it, but you don't have to do it to prove yourself to me. If anything, it seems like you're trying to prove your words to yourself."

Jasleth

"Hey, as I recall, you were the one who started shooting and making threats." Jasleth bent down and picked up his bracer, tucking it into storage in the sash at his waist. Was Soliel right? No, he knew he was honorable. Wasn't he? "Skyler, my offer still stands." "I won't back out on my word."

He looked out toward the north, anticipation for the challenge ahead beginning to leak through his frustration. "If everyone is ready, let's get started." "Arctica is north from here, a good distance." "The Castle is smack inthe middle of the zone, so we can't miss it." "If we're concerned with speed, there is a horse route that goes fairly close to the castle, I'll spring for the rental if we want to go that route."

Kryss~

I didn't even hear the words of that she thing, I won't hear anything more our of her from this moment on. To me she wasn't even there. Watched as Jasleth tried to offer his blood to the other, he was trying so hard to make things work between all of us. This is going to be one tense ride.

"Horses sound like a good idea, I'll pitch in for rentals if needed as well." looking and talking straight to Jasleth, totally disregarding the pansy she wannabe he archer. The only way I'll acknowledge her presents is if she starts being nice, but only time will tell I guess. There will be a moment when she realizes I'm not all she thinks I am.

Let Jasleth get ahead of me and started to follow behind him, he didn't have to prove his honor, and now thanx to that hussy, I can tell he was questioning it. Not a good sign, I'm glad I met him, but how long will this group last acting like this.

A tall chestnut haired man walked from the trees with his arms crossed over his chest. "You people travel as silently as most orges pass wind.." He muttered, stepping past the group, he knelt down infront of a small group of white blooming flowers, plucking the heads he gently placed them into a pouch at his side.

As he stood, the light reflected through the crystallin blade at his back. "And you really should think about the ogres around here. Even with this group, I doubt you could handle the groups around here, especially when they side with the Gnolls.."

Flicking a stray strand of hair from his face, he turned to the group. "So unless you know this terrain, you might want to keep it down. When night falls, there are alot of wandering undead to acompany the monsters.." He gave a slight gesture to the vampire "Present company excluded of course..."

Slipping one hand into the rim of his belt, he walked off towards the woods again. "I'm off to slay the Mother Acranice...here there's a pretty penny for her head, not to mention the Spider's Bow, and her hoard of Spider Silk..."

Soliel

Now THERE was someone more worthy of her company.

"Hey, wait up....!" She called out after him, running after him. The sleek elegance of the ebony long bow bounced against her back lightly as she caught up to walk along side him. Not only did he seem to be trust-worthy and far less trashy than the other company, but there was also the Spider's Bow to sweeten the deal.

Tagging along side him, she glanced up at him, who towered over her with ease.

"I'm Soliel Etoile. You are....?"

She tugged the edges of her vest closed a bit more. With any luck, he'd buy into thinking that she was a guy. Unlike some other tramps, she didn't feel the need to thrust her 'features' on members of the opposite sex.

Dominic

This was good. Our party just formed and there was already bickering. This is why I travel alone.

"My name is Dominic Douglass." I said, hoping to stop the arguing. "I'm an Oracle, as you probably noticed." I decided to touch back on a point Jasleth made earlier. "You say the Frozen Flame is what you're after? Because I've read stories about that. Not even the most advanced of parties have been able to get it. The few that have come in contact with it have told horrible stories. It has the ability to switch people's bodies, or kill them on sight." I shifted my weight. "It's suicide, plain and simple."

I turned my eyes to Skyler, who I noticed had been glancing back and forth at me. So, she's a vampire, huh? I knew something was off about her...but that wasn't just it. She seemed far too interested in me. Something was up, but I was not sure of what just yet.

He tilted his head to the side to look down at the small archer. "...don't you think those clothes are a tad bit baggy on you?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow. "But don't worry, I won't tell the others your little secret. I doubt they noticed. You're footsteps give you away ever so slightly, you put more weight on the balls of your feet then a man would, even for an archer."

He turned his head forward again. "So you're going to leave your little crew all along back there? Or do you intend to just meet them again at Arctica?" He ran one hand up to force his headband above his eyes. "Because this journey should not take too long...I expected you to come, for the bow of course...would you like to know more about it?"

Soliel

"If they know, they know. I'd rather be dressed like this than throw how I'm a female in men's faces, unlike some other strumpets I know. And what crew? Ha! I'd say the only one that even appeared worthwhile was Skylar. The rest are your usual stereotypes capable only of the same stereotypical thing."

Pacing along beside him, her hands went up to remove her turban. Since she had been so hurried in replacing it before, she had messed up in the re-wrapping, and the way it sat wasn't to her liking. Once more the gold of her hair spilled down to its full length, brushing the backs of her knees. Fishing in her pockets, she found a couple of strands of pearls, and braided her hair, wrapping them up in the pearls. Once the gold was back in a stately bun atop her head, the turban was replaced, and her fingers combed the customary tuft of hair back between her eyes.

"Besides, I think those party members only had one thing on their minds, and it wasn't the treasure." She rolled her large scarlet hues. "And I have no intention of meeting up with them again. When the bow is in my hands, then I'll worry about what to do next. But, do tell me of what it's capable of. I don't want to waste my time chasing 5th rate prize."

Skyler

She stood and listened to the chatter between the archer and monk. It was a bit annoying, too much talking over this subject. She knew if they kept it up it would draw a crowd even in the darkness.

He seemed to think he needed to prove his honor to her to get her to go along, honor was nothing if proof was forced, but he was pretty insistent on needing to do just that.

Then he spoke to her directly, So much for not being involved in this. She looked to him and spoke quietly after he made his offer. “You offer is appreciated, but not needed, so please accept my declining it at this time. Honor is not at stake here, foolishness is. We’re all adults, I would say, but you stand here bickering like children.”

She looked to the Oracle and the dancer, then back to the Archer and Monk. “We are wasting time, it grows late and if I am to travel with you, I care not to be out in the middle of open plains when the sun chooses to rise.”

Then she spotted the man as he stepped from the woods, she watched him a moment, thankful for the distraction. She didn’t like the undead comment, but then he excluded her from his statement, acceptable. Then he mentioned some other quest and started off with Soliel hot on his heels.

She looked to Dominic as he spoke and told of the stories he had heard of the Flame. She had heard of a few of them as well. “I have heard a few of the same. It will be a dangerous quest, and as such we will have no room for these little arguments, not if our lives may depend on it. Experience and treasure are good, but not if you’re dead.”

She knew this was not going to be easy, nothing ever was. It would be good if Dominic joined this little group, easier. She thought a moment before speaking again. “Maybe a side quest along the way, the one he mentioned,” she looked after the other two as they walked away. “That may help test our ability to work as a group, before we move on to something more dangerous, but that is only a suggestion. But I suggest if we are to go we gather things and get moving be fore the morning catches us.”

~Kryss

"She is right about that, we have spent far to much time over this. I am game for alittle side trip first." Grinning alittle at the thought of the silk, I knoe I said treasure was nothing to me, and most the time it isn't. Silk on the other hand, well what dancer wouldn't want rare silk. Plus I have heard what this silk can do, resistant against poison, in hances stamina and range. If sewn just right that is, be such ashame to screw up something so nice like that, luckly my skill was maxed out and shouldn't have to worry about screwing it. Could make a real nice corrset out it.

"That is another point, we should see how well we can handle ourselves as a group, as one before going on a massive quest like that. We would never survive if this does keep up as it started."

Jasleth

He sighed. Skyler was right, he supposed. Maybe he was being childish. Straightening, he started to head in the direction the archer and the mystery man had gone. "Sorry about that guys." "You're very right, Skyler." "I've been acting like a damn fool." No point in trying to redeem himself or his honor now. It was too late. Once again, he'd just made it worse. Now The Game was just like real life...he even had that same taste of ashes in his mouth.

"The side-quest is a good idea." "If you're still willing to go to Arctice, it'll give us a chance to get our teamwork down." "If you're not, at least we'll have an adventure together, eh?" He strapped his right bracer back on. "Skyler, Dominic, I think one of you should be in charge of our group." "I think I proved to everyone that I'm too hotheaded to do it." "The two of you can decide." He smiled at them, though the smile did not quite reach his eyes. "Let's go catch up, or they'll get all the action!"

Skyler

"A leader I am not, I much prefer to stay in the shadows. Well so to speak." She smiled abit. "You seem more qualified than you would care to admit, and Dominic here may possibly be qualified as well. It should be between the two of you."

"I am still interested in your original quest, but feel the side quest would do us all good. I agree we should move on..." She lowered her voice to a low whisper, "before we draw a crowd."

She liked her anonymity, and really hated large crowds, she had been busy as of late and did not want to be recognized.

Jasleth

Jasleth smiled at Skyler's words. "I appreciate the vote of confidence." He glanced at the others, and then around at the trees. "You're right about moving on though." "That guy knew what he was talking about, there are creatures in these woods." "I think we could handle them without too much trouble but then they'd beat us to the dungeon!"

He was feeling it, the energy of the Prodigious Youth returning. Getting back in character, he ran a hand through his hair and pointed off in the direction he had been going. "All right!" "No more waiting!" Jasleth paused a moment to give the others time to get ready, then loped ahead, bare feet making little noise on the forest floor.

Soliel

"What are you losers doing following us?! Why don't you go on yer own quest?! Scram."

She waved her hand, as if she was trying to shoo away a dog. The entire purpose of her branching off was to get AWAY from said "party members"! And now look at it. She was so mad she could just spit.

So she did. Off to the side, anyway.

Kuhhhhhh! Fine, then, if they INSISTED on tagging along, she knew she'd be spending most of her time up a tree....ignoring them. Especially that little hussy-tramp. She glowered comically. Ruining all her fun.

Dominic

Christ. That archer boy was a pain in the ass. I turned to follow the group, then stopped. I'm forgetting something. Oh, yes...

Slip, get your bloody self down here!

Yes, shabeeb. I live only to serve you. The cynical response came back. A few moments later, the iguana plodded across teh ground, handing me my backpack.

"Good boy!" I said and lifted Slip up.

Good boy? Is the culmulation of all our years together? Is that all the respect you are willing to show me? I am shocked and appalled!

I sighed and stuffed the lizard in my pack. This was going to be a long trip. I turned to Skyler, who had waited for me, and nodded. "I'm ready now. Let's join the other two."

Skyler

She watched as the lizard approached, with Dominic's pack. "Interesting." That was all she thought to say.

She nodded as he mentioned catching up. "Yeah we should, in case another fight breaks out." She smiled briefly as they headed after the others.

Dominic

Hoo-wee! Who's the chick, Dominic? Slip said, poking his head out of the pack.

She's going to be travelling with us, Slip.

Where did you pick her up? Stonehenge?

Cool it, alright? She's a nice girl.

You're lying to me. I can sennnnnnnnse it. You don't trust her. Because she's a...a.... I had no idea someone could stutter in their mind. A Vamp? Dominic, you're shacking up with a blood-sucker?

SLIP! I mentally accosted him, then turned to Skyler, pushing the iguana from my thoughts.

"I agree. I don't want anymore fighting. This could become more of a headache than an adventure. And on a side note, I am not being the leader."

Skyler

She chuckled softly, at his comment about him not being the leader. "Well then it looks like it will be up to the others to decide who we follow."

She kept up a good pace to catch the others, she looked to Dominic, he was holding up well, not like some of the other Oracle's she had run into.

They were weakling creeps, that made the carnival fortune tellers look all too truthful. He seemed to have potential...too bad... She pushed that thought from her head as they continued on.
