Skyler

She was thankful the battle with the spiders ended, but then a new one started between Soliel and Jasleth. She sighed, as it seemed this was going to be the way of things. They seemed to settle things quickly and she hoped they would get along a little better from here on out.

She was almost amazed that Jasleth didn’t know that Soliel was a girl; the rest had caught on quickly enough.

Something else bothered her as the characters rested; she knew she was going to have to pause shortly work always started very early. She checked her in game clock once more, 20 minutes. Just thought it said 20 minutes before the spider fight, I know things move quick in this game, but the fight took more than a few seconds.

But the thing that she found most strange was the fact that Jasleth was able to pull the binding wraps from Soliel’s chest and nothing seemed blurred, then the same thing happened when she pulled his pants down, underwear and all. Something was up, this game never let anything be seen of the opposite sex, not without the appropriate blurring.

She settled down to rest with the others; the battle was draining, but not tiring. She looked to Dominic. “Nice trick with the spell. Was that what you had planned?” She knew spells could be fickle at times even for higher-level casters.

Geo looked over his shoulder and had swallowed a laugh through the entire course of events. "Ok, ok. If we're all done getting personal with each other...can we please finish what we set out to do?"

His blade rested flat on his shoulder and he bent over to scoop up a few low level spell items, Ink, Truffle and Maiden's Kiss.

Standing again, he shook his head, and walked forward. "Now, it seems since we're in a semi-private game and all above the right age, the AI's sorta...flicked off the censor. I'd appreciate no more peep shows, at least until we were done with this little bout. Then you can all have as many jollies as you want..."

As he stepped through the trees, they seemed to part their branches, allowing more crystallin light from the moon and stars to shimmer down. "I think two would be best to scout ahead, I'll need someone with long distance to cover me....Soliel? If you wouldn't mind..."

He didn't wait for a response, but continued his light footed trek, the brances swayed back to their original places as he passed.

Soliel

"It wasn't ANYTHING LIKE THAT!" She stomped her foot on the branch. Grumbling, she stood up. Deft feet carried her through the trees before she dropped down next to the Geomancer. Sinbad followed quickly, and alighted on her shoulder.

"I got yer jollies right here...." Grumbling, she waved her hand absently at Sinbad, as if to shoo him off. The bird seemed to be highly amused by the situation, and refused to budge. Frowning, she glared, before hissing at the creature. Taking the hint, the falcon took wing, and darted above the trees in a streaking of dark tan and brown feathers.

"There. Sinbad should be able to see farther than I can....."

He nodded absent mindedly and paused infront of the large cavern's mouth. "Hmm...I don't know if falcon's can see that well in the dark. Too bad he's not an owl.."

Tapping his blade gently against the ground there was a low hum and a dim golden glow shimmered through the blade, resting it against his shoulder he slowly made his way inside. "....spider's can't stand the light, but this color is beyond their range, so they won't notice us if we stay out of site."

With that, he moved deeper into the cavern. "Can you see? Because I need you to be able to at least tell the difference between me and a spider if you're going to cover me..I know you've got good aim, but are you near nocturnal?"

Soliel

"I can see just fine", she snapped, notching an arrow to the string. She didn't want to be caught unawares in here...."And even if I didn't, I could smell you just fine."

Feet were silent as she trailed slightly behind him. She stifled a yawn of boredom. She was tempted to see how long she had been in the Game and just log out....but, who knows. Maybe after this little incident she would go.

He shrugged slightly. "I guess pine does stand out against the musty smell..."

As they continued, the small tunnel broke out into a wide cavern, a pillar of light fell across a pedastle which was wrapped in nearly invisible silk, highlighted by the luminus moonlight.

With slow, echoing steps, the Geomancer made his way forward, sword poised at his side.

"...hmm..." Just as he reached a hand out to grasp the silk, a powerful gyser of webbing flew from the shadows and smacked against him, pinning him to the wall, sword still grasped in hand as a pale skinned woman with deep blue hair, completely nude but with no features, IE nipples or lower regions, visible over her flesh.

"Visitors.." She purred. "...and so delicious looking too..."

Soliel

She glanced to the Geomancer, red eyes questioning within the darkness. Did he want her to shoot now, or when he was in real danger?

It didn't seem like the spider woman was too concerned with her....maybe the AI that had created her was also above her male disguise. Oh well.

The arrow was drawn back and she tightened her fingers on the shaft. Even without full visibility, she could hear the movements of the woman, smell her.

Dominic

This was unreal. I didn't think the game allowed for situations like this. The game code must be going screwy. I shook it off and walked over to Skyler.

Boy, that archer is stuck-up. Slip commented.

At least she has a proper animal companion. One that knows how to act and not get snappy.

Feh. Birds. They're as cocky as their owners. Slip said, sounding indignant. I rolled my eyes, shutting out his whiny tone. I decided to talk with someone with more tact. Like Skyler.

"This is quite the mismatched party. I think I might have been safer staying in Garnet Town." I sighed. "A monk and an archer arguing. What's next? Will the dancer have a love affair with the Geomancer? Or maybe you're only here so you can suck my blood." I shook my head. "Such bloody nonsense, eh?"

Jasleth

It had seemed like an eternity since Soliel and the geomancer had entered the cave to scout. Sighing, he kicked at a rock, sending it skitterng across the clearing. Hmmm, he didn't think you could interact witht he background like that in game. There it was again...that feeling that something was up. It'd been coming on him all night. Things just weren't right. He thought back to the fight with the spiders, remembering how it felt. Felt. That was the key word. He had felt each blow, teh crack of armored carapace, the warmth of the ichor. He shouldn't have...but he did. The Game was advanced...but full tactile simulation was still science fiction. He took a deep breath, the scent of the bodies filling his nostrils. That too.

Maybe it was him. He had heard that it you played too long, you could start to hallucinate. Was he just imagining the sensations and scents? He had accepted the geomancer's explanation about the...exchange...between him and Soliel. He hadn't known that The Game had such a feature, but maybe he'd missed a patch message or two.

He glanced back at the others. None of them seemed concerned. Why worry? As the incident with Soliel had proved, they'd see trouble coming long before he would. "So how long do you think we should give them before we follow?" He wasn't asking anyone in particular, just watching the cave entrance with a puzzled and slightly worried expression.

She looked to Dominic as he spoke. ”…. Or maybe you're only here so you can suck my blood." He shook his head."Such bloody nonsense, eh?"

She smiled briefly. “Not unless you’re offering right now.” If he only knew the whole story. “This is just getting a bit weird, I agree the town would probably be safer, but it is a little late to return.”

She looked to Jasleth, he was speaking as he watched the cave entrance. "So how long do you think we should give them before we follow?"

“They have been in there awhile, maybe we should follow.” She opened her pack and pulled out candles. “I can see fairly well in the dark, though these should be helpful for those who can’t.”

She offered the candles and the flint and steel so they had the light source available.

I was silent the whole time, mainly because I didn't have much to say. With all the bickering, and n ow the other two were gone for some time. Also been thinking back at the fight* both fights* For one this game has never allowed ~flashes~ like that. The chara's always had some kind of undergarments on.

SEcondly one of the spider managed to scrape my leg, I felt it, felt every move I made, every breath, scent.. Strange. Something must have happened.. Actually something did, now that I remember it, just a few mins ago I tried to pause the game while I med and the two were fighting. This was the first time I spoke since the first fight.

"ummmmmm has anyone else had troubles pausing the game? or anything else. I just tried to pause and nothing."

I never looked, and my words were quiet. Wasn't even sure if anyone heard me. I stood up and took the candle that was offered, lit it and waited for the others to start moving.

As she stood she looked to Kryss. "Well I don't know, but I think it is strange that my in game clock seems stuck at 20 minutes. I'm sure I've been on more than that though."

She looked to Dominic and Jasleth. "We should go after them, something just feels wrong."

Geo strained his wrist against the silk cage as the pale skinned woman neared, his fingers still gripping his blade tightly.

As the sound of a strained bow cracked the air, two spider anthromorphs fell from the ceiling, snatching up either arm of the archer, thick shots of white silk soaked her feet, cementing them in place.

The queen tilted her head and looked over. "Now that the pest is taken care of..." She murmered and turned forward again. "You and I can....play..." With a slight flick of her wrist, the Geomancer flung from the wall wrapped still as tight and rolled against the pillar

The pale woman sat lightly over his waist and placed both hands flat on his chest before leaning down and forcfully pressing her lips against his.

He tilted his head away and made a "bleh.." noise. "...what did you eat last?"

She did a strange, almost ice like giggle and forced his head back. "...my last boyfriend..."

Soliel

Her eyes got as large as saucers, and she began to kick and just scream up a storm.

"YOU DIRTY SPIDER BITCH...!"

In shock, she blinked rapidly. She swore....and the Game didn't edit it. Why could she actually feel her feet cemented to the ground....? And why the hell was the Spider Queen so.....well....um...forward? The Game had never had anything like that before. The villains or whatever were usually all about just trying to kill you, rather than....molest you.

Shifting, she frowned. The moment she was free, she was going to try and log out before her mind grew any more addled.

Skyler

Not waiting for a response she moved towards the cave. Things seemed to be messing up, but they had no time to debate. She was growing concerned for the two who had entered the cave, they should have returned. If the game was messing up it would be good to see if they were ok before trying to sign out.

She stopped a moment before stepping into the darkeness. "Something may be going wrong. If it is those two may actually be in trouble, and I'm going to help them and maybe find out if something is wrong or we're imagining it."

Then she headed into the darkness, her eyes adjusting quickly. She could see a very faint glow in the distance and she moved that direction.

Followed right behind Skyler without word. The one may be a little annoying twitt, but I didn't want to see her actually get hurt. Honestly I didn't need the candle, in fact it was making my site worse with the flickering. Blew it out and caught up to Skyler fairly quickly.

Thought I heard sounds, yet they were faint. They were in the direction of that light that we were heading towards. The mood here didn't feel right at all. There definitly was something wrong in the air. I can smell it, feel it.

Tilting his head away once more, Geo shut his eyes tightly and strained again against the powerful silk.

The queen leaned back with a bemused smile across her lips. "Oh, you're a fine sized young man, but I doubt you can even touch the strength of the silk...why bo-" But her speech was cut short as the ground began to build with a low rumble. Stones began to dance around the spider anthromorphs feet in random patterns.

Geo's eyes shot open and he yelled outwards, the quake of the ground mimicing his every tone until the rocks exploded upwards in several pillars sending the spider's flying off into the walls, the webbing around the archer's feet snapped away and the queen raised an eyebrow. "Now...that wasn't very nice..."

She dug her hand through the lower area of the silk and tightly grasped him, squeezing with the slightest bit too much force until the Geomancer winced and the quake stopped dead. "....ow..."

Soliel

Seizing her chance, the arrow was notched in a single smooth motion, and it flew true, despite the undulating light source. Even as the ground ceased its trembling beneath her, the arrow was sure.

The maroon shaft of the fine obsidian arrow was seen lodged within the spider woman's arm. It wasn't a deadly hit - far from-, but it would serve as a distration. Already another arrow was notched.

"You touch him again, you hag, and I'll make sure the next one goes through one of those beady eyes of yours."

There was a hateful hiss and the spider queem spun on her heels. "....you little whore!" It spat and looked as oil colored blood trickled down it's arm, snapping the arrow at the neck she tossed it away and flung Geo from his silken prison.

He landed with a heavy thud at Soliel's feet. "....I bet I feel worse then I look.." He muttered as he climbed to his feet, "Especially in the dark..."

Gripping his sword between both hands the light slowly grew as the sound of bone grinding bone echoed through the cavern.

When it reached where the spider queen once was, in her place stood a more...disfigured version of her former self. Her upper body and mid lower were still in place, but cut off at her thighs, her legs were replaced with a giant, hairless abdomen of a spider.

Her chest now protruded two near dollar sized blue tintend nipples and her lower body now had a clean cut flicker of blue hair just above the slightest hint of her sex.

Geo faltered. ".....I don't think this is part of the game anymore..." He closed his eyes, trying to bring up the pause screen. ".....wha...I can't get out of the game"

Soliel

"I don't really think we have the time to talk about this...!"

Before the newly reformed spider queen could attack, she let another arrow fly. In the darkness, it hit it's mark, deep within the woman's black eye.

Kneeling beside the fallen Geomancer, she frowned. "What? You can't get out....? Maybe it just froze up on you - lemme try and log out...."

Shifting beside him, she called up her own screen, trying to log up. What....? Why wasn't it obeying her commands?! She repeatdly tried, all with the same results...

"I can't log out, either....!"

Now she was scared. Trembling ever so slightly, those shaking hands tried to draw an arrow....but she was having trouble keeping it steady. Could she actually die now, locked in this game...?

Standing up, he shook his head and looked back over his shoulder. "...ok...I have a plan...but I need you to do exactly as I say..."

Looking back at the spider queen, he picked up a rock and hurled it at her, cracking her straight between the eyes.

"Run!" He hollered and went to move, but seeing the archer shake, he winced and snatched her up in both arms, sword slung over his back as he darted towards the cave's mouth, seeing the others. "I think we should get out into the open!"

Soliel

Opening her mouth to squawk about being carried out in such a manner, she soon shut it. Clinging to him, she whistled for Sinbad as they approached the mouth of the cave.

With a squeal, the falcon dove back into the trees, and landed at Skylar's feet, waiting for his mistress to appear.

"Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god OH MY GOD! WHY ISN'T THE GAME LETTING US OUT?!"

He stopped at the entrance of the cave and swung his head over his shoulder as the others followed. "Maybe..it's a glitch? They're probably fixing it as we speak..."

Looking down at her hands knotted into his sides, he raised an eyebrow. "....you ok?"

Soliel

"If it was a glitch, wouldn't they have notified us? A warning in the manual or something warning about how extended game play fucks with your mind and abilities to log in and out?!"

Jumping down from his arms, she huffed. "And I am JUST FINE!" Sinbad flew up to assume his perch on her shoulder.

"I don't like the looks of this. Hey, you guys, have you noticed any problems with logging out or pausing or anything?"
