When RP takes control IC thread

Soliel

She rolled those large red eyes.

"Only for someone who's complacent enough to just sit and watch the chistle near. As for myself, I would much rather live a life I carve out for my own."

She trailed off as she stood up, holding the fish in one hand, and using the other to dust herself off. Setting the thing down on the rock, she cut off a third of the fish, and set it aside. Picking up the remaining half, she slipped it into the fire. Returning back to the rock, she cut the third into fine pieces, and tossed them to the eagerly waiting falcon.

At his dancer comment, her eyes narrowed.

"......You know, there's nothing that I don't know about you that doesn't suggest that you could be making all this shit up. Oracles who lie for their own convience do exist, after all....."

She threaded the knife between her deft fingers. She was barely controlling her urge to just throw the dagger at him. Standing, she wiped it clean on a few plucked leaves from a tree.

"I suggest you take your negative vibes to someone who wants to hear that crap, because I...." Now her anger was beginning to show - her voice was scaling up on each new word. "Am....not....in....THE MARKET FOR HEARING IT, DO YA GET IT?!" She shook the dagger point at his throat, eyes narrowed.

Jasleth

He didn't mean to pry. But when he heard Dominic tell Soliel about the poison, he stopped from arranging the firewood to listen. "He means it." "He's really worried." Jasleth felt a moment's fear...with what was wrong with the game right now...what would the neural feedback from dying feel like? He shuddered at the very thought. Then he had another thought...if they were feeling things...then she's actually feel the poison once it hit.

Seeing her blow up at the Oracle, Jasleth decided to step in. He reached forward and took a hold of Dominic's arm, drawing the smaller man away. "Whoa, guys." "Let's not fight again, we need to watch out for each other with whatever the Game is doing right now." He glanced back into the woods just outside the clearing. "Why don't you give me a hand with the firewood, Dominic?" While he spoke he gave the Oracle what he hoped was a "let's talk over there away from her" look, inclining his head away from camp.

My eyes widened as she pointed at him with the knife. Then they narrowed to a point that mimicked hers.

"What the hell is your problem, huh?" I glowered at her. "What possible benefit would I get from lying to you? Do you think I get pleasure out of telling people they're going to die? Do you? I was just trying to help you! You've treated me and the others like gum on your shoe this whole time! Still I come to you because I thought that maybe you would like to know that you're dying. Do I get even the slightest 'Thank you Dominic for warning me about my horrible fate?' No, I get threatened at dagger point! Well, fuck you, Soliel! I just hope the poison isn't slow acting!" I stood up and stormed away. Jasleth was starting to say something, but I brushed by him. I was in no mood to talk.

I guess the honeymoon's over, then. Slip said.

"Shut up." I grumbled. I saw Jasleth follow me and sighed, realizing it was talk time.

Soliel

The face would twist further in a scowl as she knelt to retrive a small stone. With the same aim and accuracy that made her so deadly with her arrows, she konked him in the back of the head with it.

"WELL WHO ASKED YOU, YOU BUM?! What good is a DAMN ORACLE OF DOOM?! I bet the ladies just LOVE that!" She shouted after him, stomping her small feet in a fit of fury. That was IT! She had had it with HIM, and...just ARGH! Her frustration of not being able to finish off the spider, and most of all, not being able to log out when she had a photoshoot to do just exploded in a roar from her.

Running to catch up to him, she pounced him, slamming him down into the dirt before she had him in a headlock.

"HOW DARE YOU JUST WALK AWAY FROM ME!"

Dominic

Oh, shit! Here comes the crazy cross-dressing bitch! Slip shouted and buried himself in my bag.

"What?" I asked, seconds before Soliel tackled me to the ground. Dirt filled my mouth and before I could spit it out, she had me in a headlock.

"HOW DARE YOU JUST WALK AWAY FROM ME!" She yelled.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I asked incredulously. "If your plan is to take me with you, then God help me, I'll-" The remainder of my comment was cut off by her strangling me. Okay, this was going too far.

I used all my force to propel myself to one side, rolling over so that I was on top of her. I grabbed her arms and tried to pry them off my neck. I somehow managed to succeed and, grabbing her wrists, held her arms abover her head.

"You pissed off the wrong Oracle of Doom, lady." I hissed, not quite sure what to do now. I didn't know how long I'd be able to hold her before her second wind kicked in.

Well, it wasn't like she dressed like a boy just for the comfort.

Balling up her legs beneath the Oracle, she deftly kicked him off before flipping back up to her feet. Her little body sailed through the air as she tackled him about his mid-section, quickly climbing atop him to pin him down with her wiry thighs.

Panting, she glared down at him, holding a forearm tightly against his throat, and pushed it into his Adam's Apple.

Dominic

This was getting frustrating. She obviously had higher strength than he did. He wasn't going to win this through fighting, even if she was still recovering from earlier.

"Is this how you meet all your guys?" I managed to say, her forearm, keeping me from doing more than whispering. "And if so, do they always end up between your legs like this?"

Jasleth

Jasleth sighed as the Oracle and the archer began to scuffle. He'd tried to head this off. He hated to get on her bad side again, but this was too much.

He ducked down, pulling Soliel off of Dominic and into a full nelson. "Soliel, sorry about this, Dom, just get away for a sec!" " Now, both of you, knock it off!" "We need each other, all right?" "We're all keyed up but we need to keep cool." "If the game is screwes up, then we're all we have." He took a few steps back holding the struggling Archer off the ground. "Come on, guys." "If I'm the voice of maturity here, we're in it deep."

Soliel

3....2....1

Her face turned as scarlet as her eyes, and she squealed.

"You WOULD say something like that, wouldn't you, Oracle?! Trying to get yer fun from a DYING WOMAN! How low can you get...?!"

She jumped and squirmed against Jas' hold, before firmly arching her leg back to kick him in the crotch.

Dominic

I managed to roll away from our scuffle as Jasleth pulled Soliel away. I let my breath rate return to normal before speaking.

"Look, Jasleth, Soliel is being-" I stopped myself and shook my head. No, Jasleth was right. Arguing was going to be pointless. They needed each other.

"Look, Soliel, I don't want to fight you, alright? I want to help you." I went to adjust my glasses, but realized I had lost them when she had tackled me. "I'm sorry about blowing up at you like that. Could we just forget this happened? Tomorrow we will go back in the cave and look for an antidote, alright?"

Jasleth

Stars exploded before his eyes. He should've known better. He managed to hold on to her, despite the agony. Falling to his knees, eyes watering, he relaxed his hold long enough for her to try and break free.

As she burst loose, he reasserted the grip, sending the gels jerking out. Falling back and prone, he snared her legs with his own, immobilizing her as best he could. "O-okay." Even to his own ears the pain was evident, "I-I'll g-give you that one." "Ohhh shit." "why do I bother?"

He arched himself forward, looking into Soliel's furious eyes. He tooka moment to compose himself before speaking, she was mad at him! The fucking nerve! "I-i think we're all overreacting," he said as calmly as he could. "It's been a rough time of it today." "We can't do this anymore." "It's night now, too much noise could bring a whole troop of ogres down on us, and that would be all she wrote." "Now we can behave...or I can keep you locked up all night long." "Which is it gonna be?"

"Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you...?! Just let the whole world know that you're a SEX FIEND!" She met his gaze and refused to be the one to look away first. It seemed like all messy trails lead back to him, and before this night was over, she was gonna teach him a lesson.

"Oh, I can fight just as quiet as I can be...!"

Scooping up a handful of dust, she flung it into his face, using the distraction to work herself free from his legs. Face flushed, she rolled to her feet. The beginning of a smile started at the corner of her lips. It'd been a while since she'd been in a good tussle, and now they just seemed to fall into her lap!

Diving back onto the "Prodigious Youth", she tumbled playfully back with him, lightly biting the tender flesh where his neck met his shoulder.

Jasleth

The dirt distracted him jsut long enough for her to get free. Damn! He knew he should have put more points into grappling techniques. Still he was a monk, a martial artist, he wasn't going to lose that one.

He was ready when she launched herself at him again. He rolled with the force, the two of them rolling down a slope toward he river. Something was different in her style now. It was almost...playful. Then she nipped at him, and the combination of mild pain and pleasure threw him off his game long enough for her to start to start to get a headlock on him. "Oh no, you don't."

He pitched backward, sending her tumbling from her loose grip on his neck. Flipping over onto his stomach, he grabbed her leg and jerked back, pulling legs under him before he fully rolled over. His left arm went up to catch her arms inthe crook of his elbow, his right went under the both of them. Once again he wrapped he legs up in his, then rolled over onto his back, holding her once again. Then he realized exactly where his right hand had landed. He could feel her curves through the thin silk of teh shirt that had been his. He flushed, then smirked. She wanted to kick him there, did she? Instead of removing his hand immediately, he gave each of her breasts a long, gently firm squeeze. "That's for kicking me," he murmured into her ear.

Soliel

"Ah....!"

Her face flushed again, feeling his hands. Surprisingly enough to her....it...felt....good. Her body lightly arched into his grasp, before she bit her lower lip. What the hell was she doing...?! Squirming, she wormed her hands out of his grasp. Once free, she darted to the side of him quickly, before studying him.

In the faint moonlight through the trees, the tips of his hair were slightly luminscent....and she tilted her head a bit to the side, trying to figure out what to make of him. From the tussles, the bandages across her chest had begun to loosen - already the first row masking her chest gaped to reveal the smooth curve of a breast. Flushing further when she noticed it, she reached behind her to tighten it up.

Frowning, she crept to him, cat-like. This would never do - the Soliel raised rough and tumble with the boys letting a chest groper free....! And this was the second time he'd done it, too! Even if it felt really good....She shook her head, and pounced him again.

The lightened force from this playful attack sent both parties into the river with a loud splash.

Surfacing, she flung her hair from her face, reaching over to retrieve the floating bulk of her turban.

Jasleth

Beneath the surface, he waited. As she reached for the turban, he exploded out of the water from under it, the soggy garment looking comical on his head as he tackled her into the shallower water closer to the bank. Knowing it was primitive, He pressed himself to her, pinning her to the bacnk with her weight. He couldn't help but smile at the slight yelp that escaped her lips when he hit.

He lay on top of her, both of them on the sharp incline of the bank, soaking wet. Hte chill of the water made him even more aware of the heat of her body, especially where his bare chest pressed against the flesh that had been partially bared by thier scuffling. He could feel a heat from himself as well, growing in defiance of the cold water.

Looking down at her, he wondered how he'd ever taken her for a man. Her red gold hair had tumbled loose, flowing around her in the slight current of the shallow water like a halo. Flushing a bit, he ran his hands up her sides to her hands, lightly holding them to the bank. His mind raced as his heart pounded in his chest..he had to say something. But he couldn;t think of anything for the life of him.

Soliel

Staring up into those wine-red eyes, she flushed. Her heart pounded, seemingly uncapable of slowing down. Taking a deep breath, her chest lightly brushed against his own, causing her to blush all the more.

And why was she acting like such a goon? They were just playing....weren't they? Slipping her hands from his grasp, she lightly splashed him.

"Had enough, Monk...?"

For the first time since she joined the party, she smiled good-naturedly at him, fingers moving under the water to tangle through her hair. Lifting her hands, she plucked her turban from his head.

"Not much of a look for you, I'd say....."

It was odd....everything was so intense. She felt the chill of the water, felt her own heart thud heavily, felt his heat...even the distant sensation of her hair flowing past the two of them. Swallowing, she glanced down between them for a moment. If the water was cold, she was hoping the upper part of her body hadn't reacted to it...

Too late.

Grumbling in embarassment, she wiggled from under him, climbing onto the bank. Now, talk about a pathetic sight. She looked like a drowned rat. Those baggy harem pants stuck to the curves of her legs, making her look all the more scrawny. Between the sticking pants, her hair clung to her tenaciously, and she reached back to pull it from her back and wring it out.

Jasleth

Jasleth got out of the water, grateful that her back was to him. His pants were stinking to him just as firmly, making certain situations quite obvious. "I yield this time," his voice was low and warm, "but I will have a rematch." Privately, he was sorry. It had been fun...and the feeling of her so close and been electrifying.

He waited while she rewrapped his hair and the turban, shivering slightly without either vest or shirt. It gave him time to relax as well. The effect the water had onher hadn't gone unnoticed...once again he marveled at his stupidity in mistaking her gender.

Spying an orange flicker at the top of the slope they had started at, he chuckled. "Looks like they finally got the fire going." "Took a while between the four of 'em, didn't it?" He walked a few paces ahead of her, then turned back, his muscular frame still gleaming with water from the river. "We should get up there before we freeze solid, neither of us are really dressed for a glacier fed stream."

He started to turn back but stopped. He looked back once again, "I know I should save my ass kissing for those who want it...but you have a great smile." "It'd be nice to see it more often." With a kind smile, he started up the slope, hearing her moving behind him, and feeling warmth well before they reached the fire.

Soliel

Re-wrapping the dampened turban proved more of a task than she thought, and with a sigh, she undid it, wringing out the cloth. Times like this, she wished her hair wasn't so unwieldy. Maybe when they got settled next, she would cut it to at least the deal-able waist-length, rather than the back of the knee length it was now. Fishing for her pearl hairbands, she quickly braided the wet hair, and twisted it back into a bun.

The damp clothes really couldn't be helped at the moment.

Running up the slope beside him, the heartbreakingly damp clothes slapped against her legs, and she flushed. As if things couldn't get any MORE embarassing. It would be just her luck if the damn binding over her chest came undone. Slinging the still damp cloth of the turban over her shoulder, she tucked the red gem into a unseen pocket. She couldn't run the risk of losing it...Not when she had yet to unlock it's full power.

You know....in retrospect....the Monk wasn't as bad as she thought he was...at first. In fact, he was even sort of handsome....Feh! She had no time for such sentiments! Imagine, the tomboy like this! She could see her adopted brothers shaking their heads.

As he turned to face her again, she paused, suddenly finding herself fidgeting.

"I know I should save my ass kissing for those who want it...but you have a great smile."

As he smiled, she felt her face grow hot. Watching his back pace up the slope, she reached up to touch the corners of her lips. Was it really a nice smile? She found herself attempting the gesture, before giving up and cursing her own foolishness.

"Yeah, well, why don't you save it for that belly-dancing hussy?!" Even the usually hostile comment had lost it's rancor, and left her mouth whimpering.

Pacing up steadily behind him, she took her spot by the fire. Sinbad turned a quizzical golden eye towards her, before presenting her with the well done fish that she had cleaned and placed into the fire. How the bird had managed to get it out without burning himself was...a miracle that only the Game knew about. With a faint smile, she lightly bit down into it, blowing on it slightly.

Crimson eyes were warm as they watching the flickering dance of the fire.

Had he really meant it.....?

Skyler
(Ooc- going to try to catch up here.)

She saw them running at her; she heard them mention something about being stuck in the game. She decided to check her game clock again… she couldn’t even pull up the screen.

As they set up camp she offered to watch since she really didn’t need to sleep at night, she knew they did and morning wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience for her. She knew if she took burn damage in the game, and they were stuck, it would quite possibly be worse.

She watched as the fight took shape between Soliel and Dominic, she moved to help break it up but Jasleth was just a bit faster. Once it was over and Soliel and Jasleth had tumbled off to do whatever, she stepped over to Dominic. She had seen him lose his glasses in the scuffle and managed to grab them before they had been broken. She handed them to him as she spoke. “Are you alright?”

As she stood there she glanced to Kryss, she looked ok if a bit shaken. She tried to hide her being upset with the whole matter, and hoped it would be solved soon, for she had work in the morning and was sure the others did as well.

She turned back to Dominic, “You were right to tell her what you saw. It’s up to her now to do what she will with the information.”

She knew this change in things was bothering everyone, figures she would have to join a party that was going to do most of its traveling during the day. She sure as hell hoped the cloak she wore stood up to its claims; it might be the only thing that saves her, once the sun rises.

Geo rested his back against the center pole of the tent and clicked his tongue as the two came up the hill, recalling the conversation from before about how "it wasn't like that" and smiled.

The corner of his eye watched the vampire for a moment and his face fell silent again, and he rested his hand on the hilt of his sword.

Climbing to his feet he stepped around the fire without making a sound and stood before Skyler, holding out one hand he dropped the "ink" item into her own. "...it causes darkness, if you use it on yourself, it might decrease your vision somewhat, but you'll be safe from the sun. That cloak isn't a sure bet, is it? If it was...you wouldn't look so worried.."

Walking away without a response, he moved past the arrived Soliel and Jasleth, he motioned with his head. "Come on Soliel, the tents set up. You can wait in there while I dry your clothes.."

Tilting his head up, he looked at Jasleth. "...and I'll bet you're used to drip drying, eh?" He smiled, both warmly and knowingly as he lead the archer away.

Skyler

She looked to Geo, as he dropped the item in to her hand and then walked away. "Thanks..and no I have never really tried to use the cloak. It's something I don't want to have to find out too late, that it doesn't work."

Well she could only hope one or the other would work. She would find out soon enough.

She then decided to take a chance, she looked to Dominic. "How reliable is your gift?" She hoped if she focused on the daylight, that maybe that is what he could see, the coming day and not past that.

But she knew if the game was now real, she wasn't about to follow her side job. He was definitely safe, besides, there was something about him. For the first time in the 6 months she had been taking side jobs in the game, she wasn't sure she could go through with a job. Then again if he saw that she ulterior motives, maybe he'd see too she was unsure about following them.

Dominic

I thanked Skyler as she returned my glasses. I put them back on, hoping they weren't too badly bent out of shape.

"I'm okay. That bloody archer just got in a few cheap hits." I brushed myself off. "Oracle of doom...sheesh. Does she think I can pick and choose what the future is?"

I watched as Geo gave Skyler an "ink" item. I slapped my forehead, not believing I had missed that. "That's right. You're a vampire, you will have trouble in the day." She asked me about my second sight's reliability. "Well, usually it comes true unless I intervene. Even then it sometimes comes true...just in a different way than expected."

Is the psycho and her feathered atrosity gone? Slip asked from the confines of my pack.

Yeah, it's safe. I responded. The iguana breathed a sigh of relief and poked his out of my backpack.

I leaned back against a tree and sighed. Out of habit, I pulled a pack of cigarettes from my pocket. I stuck one in my mouth and used a match to light it. I took a deep drag and exhaled. I felt myself calm down considerably.

On a second thought I leaned over and offered one to Skyler. "Smoke?"

She smiled as he offered the cigarette. "Nope, maybe in sunlight." She laughed a little, she knew the joke was reallly stupid, but it helped, a little.

She looked to the iguana as it poked it's head out of the pack. It's be nicer if she had a place to hide like that in the morning. "So Dominic, do your visions able to come when you want them to or do they come on their own? Do they always come true?"

She wondered what the answer would be. She hoped they were and that they didn't always come true.

Dominic

I laughed at her joke. A vamp with a sense of humor... now that's a rarity.

"Well, my powers...they're a little of both, really. I can concentrate on someone and summon up a vision about them, but I can't control what vision I get or it's length. And usually , I get the same vision until the event it depicts passes." I took another drag of the cigarette and blew out a smoke ring. "But I sometimes get visions without trying. Especially in my dreams."

"As for the accuracy of these visions...they are, well, it's kind of hard to describe it. It's like the entire world is layed out like fate has the whole thing decided. But I can intervene and change that future. It feels like I have the ability to change what I see. I guess everyone really has that ability...but you can't change what you don't know about." I was silent for a few seconds.

"It's like if I told you that you would lose a fight against another vampire who would challenge you, you might not fight him. If I hadn't told you, you wouldn't have thought anything of it and fought him."

"To answer your question, yes my visions come true. Except when I change it."

Skyler

She seemed a bit disappointed in the answer, she wished the ability was a little bit more focusable. She wanted to know if the cloak would work in daylight for her as it was supposed to, she really didn't want to waste Geo's item. But she would use it if she had to.

"Thanks Dominic for explaining that. I was going to ask you something, but since you can't see specifics, I wouldn't want you to waste your energy trying." She smiled and settled against the tree she was sitting near.

She looked to the iguana again. "Your familiar seems to like it in there, especially since the falcon." She was trying to make small talk and not have to think of coming events.

She would try to rest soon enough. Luckily, she knew whe didn't fall into a dead like sleep during daylight hours. She had played during the day before and as long as she was inside somewhere she was fine. She hoped with the change in the game that wouldn't change either.
