Where do you want to go with the Litster above you?

To a NASCAR race cause then maybe someone can explain to me why watching guys drive around in circles is exciting

Imagine yourself in a car driving at Talledega Super Speedway in Alabama. There are 42 other cars racing 4 and 5 wide all within a space the size of a football field. You never ever let off the gas unless there is a wreck. The banking in the corners is such that even walking up it is very difficult. You are going 200 mph in this pack for 500 miles. You actually run into the guy in front of you to make him go faster. The air gets dirty and will pull your car around or suck you up into the guy above you.

If someone could be running along side your car, you are riding on such an aerodynamic edge that a person could reach out, and spin your car around. The g forces on your body are incredible and the amount of concentration you must keep for every second of the race could determine whether you, or perhaps others could die.

Driving in circles hardly explains it...yanno?

It is quite the rush! They let you sit in the car with one of the drivers at MIS during a non race weekend. I costs a bit, but to me, that is probably the equivalent to skydiving!

No need for a sorry.. but that is a common theme among those that have never been.

My dad was that way for a long time.. one year I got him to go to Bristol with me.. he didnt seem to really be all that excited about being there.. until we were in our seats, the order to start engines was given. The raw power, the energy, the sound... is incredible there. He looked at me and said "NOW, i get it"

tv doesnt do the sport justice at all. its hard for you living on the west coast cause IMO Bristol is the most fun race to watch.. KAT73 goes to races out there, maybe you could ask her how it is on a California track. I wouldnt recommend a road course race..
