The words are all necessary. In fact one of your favorite techniques is when we boil it down to "Defund the police" not "There are more productive ways to spend our money such as mental health care, jobs programs, affordable housing and training police to deescalate situations that would yield better results." You pitch a shit fit we didn't properly articulate our goals. It doesn't help that we're better educated and better read and its really difficult for us to talk down to people. Oh I can be quite indulgent when it comes hearing myself talk. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. That doesn't mean that everything can be broken down into Make America Great Again. Which sounds great and all but when asked for specifics the right can't answer. Was it the seventies when tax rates for the rich were I believe still in the 90s? But women could be denied bank accounts, credit cards, buying property and even good employment because they were suppsoed to be supplemental income not the primary bread winner? By the eleven frozen hells alimony and child support make a fuck ton of sense viewed historically. While we're speaking of the 70s that about when redlining ended. So do we mean back when segregated neighborhoods was not only the norm as it largely still is but legally enforced? Is that the goal?

Actually given how very, very crystal clear the right is about not wanting to increase legal immigration and also encouraging Americans women to have put off their careers and have more children it takes some mental gymnastics to pretend its NOT about keeping America white. Especially when coupled with things like white replacement theory and how often we hear that whites will be a minority by 2050 or whatever the current estimate is. Which when you think about it is a funny way of saying if every single white person voted one way and every single non-white person voted the other AND the Electoral College and States didn't exist they would have to share power 50/50 give or take but even that's not true since minorities are concentrated in certain areas.

Do they mean to go back to when unions were strong and the American middle class was thriving? When minimum wage went up like clock work? The federal minimum wage used to go up relatively regularly. Often year after year. If you care while its more complex than I care to go into right now I will provide the information on inflation by year. 1914-present. Now the farther back you go the more it jumps around but once you get to the last few decades you very rarely see anything above five and usually in the twos and threes. Yeah Biden did have the highest single year inflation rate since before I was born. Fuck I don't think my parents had even met when it happened. Though maybe they lived in a much, much smaller city than I do so its plausible they had met or at least you could connect them pretty easily via a friend of a friend's cousin. Anyhow I would call your attention to 2009 which has something that people CLAIM they want. Deflation. Do I need to educate you on what was going on in 2009? I don't normally tell people to do their own research buuuuuuuuuuut. Oh and yeah Trump's inflation was super low for similar reasons and this year will probably be lowish all things said. Not ZERO where Trump claims but lets just be honest. Trump is fracking moron who has repeatedly stated that drug prices would come down by 100, 200 , 300 percent or more. I misspeak sometimes and its split between I didn't know the proper term and I just stumbled but I'm not the fucking president with a team who should have pulled me aside sometime over the last year and told me "I mean 80%" or whatever.

Trumps numbers are if anything a bit below where a healthy economy would be sitting. However I get it the average American isn't as locked in as even the least of the people who frequent the Lit politics board.

Oh right when did the hell was America Great. I know as a black man this comes out as the cynical "it was never great for my people" and while that's true that's shouldn't stop YOU from being able to pinpoint an actual ideal point. A goal you wish to achieve not some vague thing that I can't debate because its mercurial. I and most liberals can tell you what we want even if there are things we don't know how to achieve. I do want a world where equal opportunity is a thing and its not now. Not equal outcomes. Honestly nobody on the Left has ever suggested that. We've pointed out that and take your pick of billionaires most were born pretty well off. Just off the top of my head Bill Gates was the son I believe of a doctor and a professor? I know he wasn't born super rich but he was born well enough off that he had a private tutor teaching him computer programing when most people didn't have computers period. Khloe Kardasian was probably a millionaire from the get go but her father was part of OJ's defense in the famous trial from the 90s. These are not kids who grew up in crap schools and had to get jobs at sixteen to help put food on the table.

I want a world where we don't even discuss LGBT rights as if that were a debate. I'm fine with Pride Month getting its glow up but I'd be just fine if it was treated the way Black History Month is where Google changes its banner and. . .absolutely nobody cares beyond that save some years I'll do a black fact a day. Or Latino Heritage month. Or either Military Month. I tblieve one is a Veteran month and one is military in general but there are TWO fucking months which makes it funny as fuck when Conservatives on Facebook and Twitter/X (Does anybody respect it enough to call it X or should Musk just change the name back and stop pretending?) start asking "Who thinks veterans should get a month before LGBT?!" Which is a bit like looking at Juneteenth and asking "Wh othinks there should be a day dedicated to celebrating America before we celebrate black people?!

See this was me enjoying hearing my self speak so to speak. Though that doesn't actually change the fact that liberal ideas are complex and don't boil down to bumper stickers particularly well. On the occasion that they are the Right who are infinitely better at messaging than the Left will attack "Yes we can" Yes we can what? He wants to fundamentally change America! Bring in Sharia Law!
