Who Is Lying About Iraq?

Short answer to the thread topic question: Folks like Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Rockefeller are the most egregious prevaricators. Hands down, and for the most craven reason: their political careers.

Thats whats so funny about the new resolution to end the war to be voted on tonight!

Is it true that our troops are killing an average of 3000 insurgents a month?

No. No one in Iraq is dying except for the sons of screeching American anti-war protestors, Iraqi children massacred by thick-browed American GIs and sad-eyed puppies that just want to be loved. According to the NY Times, at least.

I have one question: Who do the opponents of the war think is killing GI's and Iraqis in Iraq?

According to the hyperventilating anti-war goon LT, it's freedom-fighters from al-Zarqawi's boys.

How do we know that Bush isn't lying? Because Clinton said it too!
How do we know that Bush wasn't wrong to attack Iraq? Because Clinton did it too!
Bill Clinton: George Bush's role model. The gold standard by which all Presidents must be measured. The Paragon of Presidents!

Liberals always try to forget 9/11, because 9/11 changed everything.

After 9/11 Terrorism wasnt something that just went on in Isreal or Europe it was here and it just cost us 3,000 lives.

FYI.... Iraq's suspected culpability in 9/11 was NOT the only reason we went to war. Bush AND Congress authorized war because it was believed he had WMDs (by ALL of the Intell agencies btw) and was not cooperating with the UN investiations.

I might also add he was also disposed because he was a MASS MURDERING tyrant who HAD used WMDs. Since he is now gone Iraq NOW has the beginnings of a DEMOCRACY, and women can now vote in Iraq (Something that doesnt seem to matter to Pookie) and even more importantly the MASS MURDERS have STOPPED (not that seems to matter to you and the rest of the anti-war left).

First off, I live in NYC so don't you dare say that I or anyone else who legitimately opposes what Bush has done to this country is trying to forget it. I knew people who died so your little republican rant just doesn't cut any mustard with me. What bothers new yorkers the most is that Bush didn't finish the job in Afghanistan because he rushed into Iraq. That is a damn legitimate criticism and is a direct reflection of the fact that we were attacked.

Secondly, it is Bush who is the one who minimized the importance of that attack by using it as a faux reason to attack Iraq. If you want to buy into that's fine but don't expect the rest of us too.

What about the information process Clinton used to bomb that aspirin factory? Do you think he vetter any information that told him that wasnt an aspirin factory? No he didnt.

Did you read the link to the New Yorker article?

Q: Why did you kill that Iraqi?
A: Because he was an insurgent.
Q: How do you know he was an insurgent?
A: Because I killed him.

We'll see how many politicians actually believe that in just a bit...

Actually, it's just not Bill, it's a lot of the party leadership that demanded that second resolution in 2002 just so they could get on the record as being pro-war and on the team. Then they turned fifth column because they lost an election that they had themselves convinced was in the bag.

How DARE I?

How dare I remind you of the mass murders and the tortures!
How dare I remind you of the gassings of the Kurds!
How dare I remind you of the invasions of Iran and Kuwait!
How dare I remind you that women couldnt vote!

How dare I remind you of the mass murders and the tortures are now OVER!
How dare I remind you of the gassings of the Kurds are now OVER!
How dare I remind you of the invasions of Iran and Kuwait are now OVER!
How dare I remind you that women can now VOTE!

This isnt about them its about THEM! It never was. Its ALL about US and our petty little political partisanships and its about our marches and its about our protests.

The tortures are not over, both the US and the Iraqis have been caught doing it.

The gassings of the kurds happened decades ago. Try again.

The invasions of Iran and Kuwait happened over a decade ago as well. Still no need to go to war.

Women can vote but have lost other rights which is a questionable victory at best.

Any other bullshit you want to spread around?

There's a recently returned Guard unit in Springfield, Mo that has volunteered to go in place of a Mississippi/Louisiana unit. I applaud them. It must have been a very hard decision to make knowing that Bush is lying and you are volunteering for certain death and defeat...

Spare me your shallow self-righetous indignation!

Just HOW do you and your other new yorkers define finishing the job in Afghanistan? When there is NO opposition whatsoever? Lets face it, there will always be islamist nutcases who want a return of the Taliban and are willing to die to prove it.

If had we waited for THAT to end, SADDAM would STILL be torturing, STILL be murdering, STILL be gassing, STILL be invading, STILL be collaborating, etc, etc. ...

And there would be NO DEMOCRACY, NO WOMAN'S VOTE OR MANS VOTE FOR THAT MATTER, and NO CONSTITUTION!

And I dont expect you and the rest of your looney leftists to give a rats ass about what was happening in Iraq, because that might interfere with your HATE BUSH Jihad.

Trust me on this one, there are still people who think the South is going to rise again!

I define finishing Afghanistan as finding Bin Laden. You remember him, don't you? He's the one who ordered the attack on my city.

When was the last time Saddam gassed or invaded anyone? Over a decade you moron. Spare me your self-righteous faux patriotism. If you want to worship at the alter of a moron like Bush, go ahead.

But the country, both democrats and republicans alike are tired of it and of him. Of course there always will be idiots who buy anything as long as it is wrapped up in some nice partisan rhetoric and tied with a red, white and blue bow.

Ahhh so there is a set time when past actions no longer matter? I guess after 1960 or so people should have stopped looking for Nazi war criminals (first and maybe only thing that comes to mind).

Those 2 reasons I myself consider a legitimate part of going to war (perhaps the only legitimate extrapolations).

I am not one of the people who thinks the troops should be pulled out of Iraq. At this point, I think they are probably going due to their fellow troops more than because they believe Bush.

I never said that the past no longer mattered. But saying that there aren't any gassings or invasions when there haven't been any for over a decade is a pretty damn stupid reason to go to war when he was already effectively contained.

Well, it was a mighty 4 years ago since Osama ordered NYC attacked. If he makes it another 6 years all is forgiven by you I assume? Or does stuff like that only matter when it happens to your city?

Zappa

They got lies so big
They don't make a noise
They tell 'em so well
Like a secret disease
That makes you go numb

With a big ol' lie
And a flag and a pie
And a mom and a bible
Most folks are just liable
To buy any line
Any place, any time

Just who do they really
Suppose that they are?
And how did they manage to travel as far
As they seem to have come?
Were we really that dumb?

When the lie's so big
And the fog gets so thick
And the facts disappear
The Republican Trick
Can be played out again
People, please tell me when
We'll be rid of these men!

Really Zippy... what a truely pathetic retort! It amounts to this.

"Gee the insugents are commiting some tortures here and there and THAT EQUATES TO THE MILLIONS that suffered under Saddam....

and...

"Well as far as the gassings and mass murder and invasions...if he did it before, we can be assured he'll NEVER do it again!"

Thank you Neville Chamberlain!

Nah, let's just forget about him like our fearless leader has and just concentrate on the next mistaken to cost us billions of dollars and thousands of lives.

It all mattered in 2002 when the Democrat leadership demanded that second resolution so they could sabre-rattle too.

What is this? Take backs? Your hand left the piece...

;) ;)

Bullshit. He was effectively contained and everyone knew that.

And it's not the insurgents committing torture but the Iraqi government who just got caught.

But please, keep trying and you may actually say something accurate or even, dare to dream, intelligent.
