Why didn't I kill you?

She seemed desperate, and kept asking him to leave, he knew he couldn't though. If he did she would attack him when the hunger was too much, or even worse, escape and attack someone else.

Left with no choice he barged into the bathroom, and moved to pin her down quickly. Once more he would try to feed her, but now he didn't have her hands tied down and it was all much harder.

A part of him wanted to use a stake on her, but there wasn't one handy, so he would have to stick to the original plan, trying to subdue her underneath him.

Maria was convinced that Jake was an idiot. That was the only explanation as to why he barged into the bathroom and tackled her down. Now with him at a close proximity, she could practically smell the blood flowing through his veins. Her breathing was ragged due to trying to tame her bloodlust. It didn't seem to work this time, especially since he was on top of her and she was having a hard time getting free.

She was pretty certain that he had a death wish. Maybe, he'd given up trying to find his wife's killer and wanted her to kill him. Her fangs began elongating as her eyes focused on the vein pulsing on his neck.

Maria bit her lip, trying hard to focus and not bite. Still, she struggled to be let free though she knew he was holding her down so that she wouldn't be free to roam with her current, unsatiated blood lust. She bit her lip even harder causing her fangs to pierce through her bottom lip. She winced in pain and covered her nose hoping to block the scent of blood.

"You are an idiot." Came her muffled reply.

"Tell me something I don't know" was his cold reply, then he achieved some sort of control, and he cut his right palm once more, his other hand flew to her neck to keep her where she was, even is she struggled she wouldn't be able to bite him as long as he didn't let go.

Then he moved his cut hand over her mouth, and allowed the blood to drop in.

"I don't need you to tell me that I'm an idiot, I'm keeping a vampire existing in my house, and I'm risking my safety to feed it, this goes against everything I learned on how to handle vampires... but I still think you can be helpful... and that I can help you."

He strenghtened the grip as he kept slowly feeding her.

Maria brushed off his first comment as she watched him cut his wrist. Unconciously, she licked her lips and closed her eyes, trying to tell herself that she was not a monster and blood was disgusting and only for horror movies; not for real life! It didn't work, especially when he moved his wrist over her lips and a single drop of blood trickled in.

She groaned in response and immediately began suckling on his wrist. Her groans hummed against his human flesh. What was wrong with her? She was not supposed to be enjoying this. This was absolutely crazy! She jerked her head back in response to his words but his grip was tight around his neck.

"I am NOT your pet to feed and water..." she hissed, "You may as well leave me here to die from lack of blood. I don't want you to take care of me. In fact, I'd prefer to die..."

However, despite her words before she could stop herself; Maria sucked on his wrist again, before firmly stopping herself and brushing her tongue along his wrist so that none would trickle out. "You can let me go now. I'm not hungry anymore."

He slowly did as she asked and let her go, he had no reason not to trust her, she had stopped feeding and so far she had went out of her way to try to keep him safe... or to keep herself from attacking a human, either way he should be thankful for that.

"You don't need to tell me that you aren't my pet, I know that, and besides I don't want a pet."

Then he realized that he was still pinning her down with his body, he nearly flushed but controlled himself and moved away from her sensual perfect body.

Once more trying to make sense out of the confused thoughts in his head he took a seat and to focus on something else asked her.

"Were you able to remember anything useful... or maybe dream something unusual?"

The memory of that weird dream came back to her and the sound of that deep male voice calling to her. She bit her lip and looked down. Should she tell him? He did just want to get vengence on the man who killed his wife. If she were put in his position then...

She shook her head trying to erase that thought. No, she would be putting her best friend in danger. Besides, who was to say that he wasn't going to kill her after he killed whomever turned her into the monster she was at present.

It was true that she did say she'd preferred to be killed only a minute ago, but she was lying. She didn't want to die; not really. She'd prefer to be alive and human and what if he couldn't return her back to her human form.

"No, I haven't." she lied.

He sighed "I was really hoping something would come to your mind today... gues we have no choice but to go that club you were at before you got attacked. Maybe the place will get you back some memories..."

He bit his lip, going out was dangerous, she could get hungry again, and attack someone, also she could use any opportunity to just escape from him as she had been so eager to do the night before, still he had no choice, right now she was her best connection to his mark, and he had to pursue that even if it was risky.

"I won't let you attack anyone, I promise, I don't trust you, but I do know that you are not a heartless killer... tonight I guess you can probably escape from me... just keep in mind that I have nothing better to do than to chase Marquis, and if you escape you too."

"You don't trust me? Oh gee thanks. That makes me feel so happy on the inside." Maria said sarcastically as she brushed the imaginary lint off of her blouse. He wanted to go to the club, great that was just perfect. However, she and that guy hadn't actually gone to a club; so how the hell was she going to pull this off.

"If thats the way you feel, why don't you kill me now? I mean why keep alive a girl that you don't trust. And just so you know, I don't trust you either." She crossed her arms over her chest. "And ya know, I bet you this Marquis guy if you killed me, he might come looking for you and then problem solved. I die and won't have to endure being a vampire, you get Marquis, and everyone lives happily ever after."

She was angry, that was why she kept making outrageous demands of having him kill her. "Everyone's happy." she muttered while refusing to look at him. She was angry! Hadn't she proven that she was trust worthy by not letting her hunger get the best of her?! Maria huffed an angry sigh.

"That is precisely why I don't trust you, you keep telling me to kill you rather than cooperate. I try to help you and what you do is telling me over and over what an idiot I am for letting you "live" and be around here. I told you what needs to be done to make you human again, and you don't seem to have the slightest interest in achieving it."

He flung something across the room, not trying to hit her but just pissed off.

"I apreciate that you are not a bloodthirsty killer, and that you can control your hunger enough to warn me away, but I can't trust you if you don't have the slightest desire to live, live, not "live"."

He reached into the hidden compartment, and took out the stake that was in there. He placed by her.

"I'm going out to try to find your vampiric master, do what you want, if you want to die you have the stake"

With that he left slamming the door. Lord she made him mad.

As soon as he slammed the door, Maria stuck her tongue out at him. " 'I don't trust you cause your a small but deadly vampire, you may not suck my blood willingly but you're still dangerous' " she mocked him, rolling her eyes. Jeez, and to think she was starting to feel a little sympathy for him.

Apparently, he had a temper. Maybe, just maybe his wife hadn't been killed and wanted to get out of the relationship, so she'd found said vampire and asked to be killed. Sounded logical to her. Maria nodded to herself as she pulled the journal out again, ignoring the stake that sat there next to her.

She began reading again.
