If America stands up and says "Enough" we'll be Afghanistan within a decade. Our problem isn't that we have too much welfare it's that we far, far too little and no way of getting more into the system. No realistic or good way. I suppose if China keeps hacking us we might be able to label sending kids to school for computer programing "Military Defense of Information and Security" and slip it in but otherwise you'd rather the country burn than do what worked for us in the past (you still haven't answered why high tax socialist California is the home of Silicon Valley and a huge chunk of the big high tech firms. And sure a few of them have left and some new start ups have come and some that weren't here before have come as well but still.

Again, I own a company. So I have a job and I do support myself. You however should die because without the socialism in this country I wouldn't be able to support myself and nor would millions upon millions of others.

High taxes allowed us to heavily subsidize schools so that more people could get a good education. Since we had more college grads than most other states jobs that required highly inteligent highly trained workers could only exist in California because the most important resource, personell did not exist anywhere else in the country. You'll note that the second biggest location for high tech firms and growing to the point of being called the second Silicon Valley is New York for the exact same reason. Money spent investing in you country and your citizens assuming its a smart investment is a good idea to grow your economy and a proven strategy.

New York's Silicon Alley. Now tell me again how using government money to incentivize companies, build and support better schools than other places, and directly connecting companies with students who show potential isn't working.
