Why is Greenland Even a topic?

Danish Intelligence Confirms The Russia-China Threat To Greenland

A 2025 Intelligence Assessment by the government of Denmark highlights the long term Russian and Chinese 'threat' in Arctic waters, at a moment Greenland officials have rejected the US assertion that the large resource-rich island and its waters are being gradually influenced and taken over by the Russia/China 'menace'.

Trump has recently stated, "We need that because if you take a look outside of Greenland right now, there are Russian destroyers, there are Chinese destroyers and, bigger, there are Russian submarines all over the place. We’re not gonna have Russia or China occupy Greenland, and that’s what they’re going to do if we don’t."

While Trump has already proven he often first sets his interventionist policy and agenda, and then goes looking for a justification in a post hoc fallacy kind of way (a longstanding tradition among pretty much all American presidents, sadly), the Danish intelligence report does seem to add general weight to Trump's arguments.

For a sampling of official quotes from the Danish Defence Intelligence Service (DDIS) - Intelligence Outlook 2025, complied by Conservative pundit Nick Solheim:

🤔

I don't know if you read thru the rapport, but it in short words said that since the US increased their interest in Greenland, the risk of Russia and China getting more interested has increased, and a risk of more Russian and Chinese ships in the area around Greenland, Bering Strip and the Artic sea will increase the risk of a confrontation.
It says nothing about "Russian and Chinese ships are all over Greenland".

Seems more like confrontation, picking fights. Also, another distraction with homefront problems. Consider the source of the story and their reviews with conspiracy theories, less than factual reporting and low credibility.
Yes, I'd agree to that analysis. But the sad thing is that they are dragging in a small country into their pissing contest!
And the rest of Europe stands behind the Danes (well maybe not Hungary but thet will change if not Russia interfere in the election) witch will destroy NATO instead of building it stronger.

This gives China no reason to not take ownership of Taiwan.
China will take advantage of the distraction of a war with Europe to annexe Taiwan. But Trump will not care because he will cancel elections and remain in power for ever whilst Americans (losers & suckers) are dying.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) calls the proposal "The dumbest thing I've ever heard."
Senate Majority Leader John Thune says, "There's certainly not an appetite here for some of the options that have been talked about or considered."
Former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says that an attack on Greenland would "incinerate" the NATO relationship.
Rep. Jeff Hurd (R-CO) added, "I don't think it is productive, and I don't think this is the way to treat an ally."
Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) says, "We are operating in times where we're having conversations about things that we never thought even possible. To use the name Greenland in the context of a war powers resolution is absolutely stunning."

The strategic necessity of invading a friendly territory where there is an existing US base is not at all obvious. Unless the protection of Trump is 'strategic' for Trump.

We need a Pearl Harbor to justify this.

Help us out here, Danes? They're just sitting ducks at the Brooklyn Naval Yard!

The point was supposed to be, to stimulate American industry by getting them to buy American instead.

That doesn't seem to be working.
If people don't pay attention, the world will join together and boycott the USA. No more trade, no more tariff-income.

Everything the US exports is easily available elsewhere, not so much the other way round.

We just got our 10% tariff from Donnie for supporting Greenland. I'm pretty fucking proud of that.
And the only thing that will happen with that is that it will be even more expensive for the Americans. Or we don't ship our products to them.
He will rise the tariffs to 25% 1 June.

And the stupid child of a president says he don't understand why we send troops to Greenland!! Wasn't that what he complained about just two days ago? NATO should take more responsibility to defend Greenland, and when we do he reward us with tariffs!
And that idiot yelled at Zelenskyj that he was about to start ww3. Who is it now that is about to start a war just like his buddy Putin?

Well, maybe this was the last straw?

In some ways this is an uncomfortable truth to admit out loud:

I sincerely hope that the EU is going to retaliate against the US of A.
That this is our red line.
My hope is that Von Der Leyen makes use of the economical ways to push back.

These 10% tariffs, increasing to 25% tariffs, on USA trading partners, trading partners who accepted a ridiculous and unfair deal last year.
A kind of economical war declaration: "Either you guys force Greenland to leave Denmark and become American, and you better make Denmark accept that!
Or you will be punished economically"

... I do honestly not think that that was how the tariff system was meant to be used. To bully a small country into becoming American, against their will.

But then again, what do I know.

What I do know is that EU got a crazy powerful tool, and hopefully.. just hopefully, this might be that famous last drop.

EU's Economical Bazooka. 💥

Does Russia even want it?

Well.. Trump is doing his very best, making sure that Putin could become interested and jealous.

.. before Trump started this charade? No, Putin did not want it, you know.. he got a war against Europe already, oh.. darn it, was Trump not keeping all of us lazy and spoiled Euro trash safe from Russia?!

We Europeans are clearly not trying to defend ourselves..
after all, the money we spend on supporting Ukraine does NOT count as defence expenses.

Also, I would actually think that with the Ukrainian war and the sabotage in the Baltic sea, Putin is sipping vodka and snacking caviar right now, having the time of his life. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Xi? He is probably in the middle of his swallow's nest soup.

This whole fiasco comes down to the Petulant Man-Baby’s ego.
  1. He made moronic statements about wanting Greenland
  2. Denmark laughed and said no
  3. The Petulant Man-Baby never forgets a snub, so he continued to make moronic statements about taking Greenland “the easy way or the hard way”
  4. Some European nations sent a few troops to Greenland as a show of support
  5. The Petulant Man-Baby threw a tantrum and said they are provoking a war (every accusation is a confession)
  6. In an attempt to coerce compliance, he slapped new tariffs on nations supporting Denmark and Greenland
The MAGA sheep have completely forgotten their desire for “no more foreign interventions” and “America first”. Such obedient sheep
