lol.
Mine isn't getting any worse, I really just need to find a way to make my stories taboo and controversial, but the only taboo I can play with is age and thats not allowed...hmm I suppose I could find some kind of a way...legally...
Hmm I suppose I'll work on it for next contest...hey would I get in trouble if I basically made a story about a guy who has been in love with a girl since she was a child and spends years like sending her gifts and stuff and then finally approaches her on her 18th birthday...I'm not sure what the overall story would be because it would have to be of her birthday and stuff....

So long as there's nothing remotely sexual in those build-up years, you're okay. Even something as simple as him noticing her developing and homing in on any one detail of that could be enough to get it bounced. The line there is very fine. Detail is the kicker. Generalities can often get by, but once you zero in on something undeniably sexual -- even a sexual thought for a single line -- you could be in the danger zone.
Ah, no, I've gotten away with pretty detailed physical descriptions (in the perspective of the characters) and pretty suggestive and meaningful looks and setting a date for action. No physical touching, though.
(It wasn't written in any sense of "where's the edge" and "getting away" with anything. It was the story. If Lit. had rejected, I would have simply submitted it elsewhere.)
Eh i guess I'll just have to figure out what to do...anyone bored enough to read a very short half finished essay on sexuality and age? How society says sixteen is to young yet the body and mind are both developed to think sexually and the brain is hardwired to view younger females as more attractive? I have no idea why i wrote it and I know no one wants to read it...but i hate writing stuff for no reason LOL
Just wanted to congratulate all the writers in the Holiday contest, I've made a point of reading all the entries and I really enjoyed them, especially those by Luna, Mugsy, Wicked and Emerald. I wish everybody the best of luck this weekend with votes! I wish I had the courage to submit a story of my own to one of the contests but I don'[t think I could handle all the criticiscm you all put up with - I admire you all so much for being able to deal with the good and the bad, especially around the holidays when things are so hectic.
I did have a question that I was hoping the more experienced among you might be able to answer. Since I make a point of reading all the contest entries, I see the same names fairly regularly come up submitting to the contests. If you win are you able to continue entering? I'm just curious, because some of you have become "staples" to the contests (at least in my opinion!) and if you won and couldn't enter... Well, sometimes I wonder if some of the scores you receive are deliberately light just to keep you around...
Good luck again to everybody and a very Merry Holiday to all!!
