Winter Holiday 2010 Contest Support Thread

I've been getting swept pretty much continuously for the last few days. End result: +.01 in score *laugh*

The worst is yet to come... The last sweep is always the worst ( especially for those in the top 5-10 of score )

Well, that lets me out even if I did gain back about .2 or so. At least I got back up over 4

All three of my stories have been hit pretty hard with the sweeps but not much change in any of the scores. maybe .01 or .02 at most.

Nothing like Tx Tall Tales'. He's getting the Mega Maid from Spaceballs Hoover treatment. All three of yours haven't lost as many as his one. ( Not even half as much, actually )

Pretty much the same range of score change, though.

Almost done with the nightly tracking. If nobody else has posted, I'll just edit a quick round-up into this post.

And, done.

Average score is up to 4.0 after the sweeps and the median is up to 4.03

Total number of swept votes observed from the toplists is up to 1566

G'morning, contesters. :)

I haven't checked my stuff the last couple days so I dont know what's going on with it, lol. :)

Just wanted to stop in and say hi.. woo woo, it's almost over! :)

I just came by to drool over EK's AV. :D

A little bump and grind also.

I'm not going to get to read all the stories I had hoped I would (by deadline). *sigh* *pout* :( I've had company the past several days. :) My votes have dropped as well; one story's sweep dropped the votes, but raised me up 0.2 points. Though my ~Holiday Love, Healing, and Energy~ probably will not qualify, people have been touched. The stories being shared and the questions being asked make me glad I decided to post it. It seems people do need this particular message. So those who have read, voted, and/or shared...thank you!

Goodluck everyone! I'll get around to more reading, voting, and commenting soon.

A.I.R. WINTER HOLIDAYS CONTEST 2010

On behalf of my boss and all of us associated with the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS I'd like to offer congrats to the OFFICIAL LITEROTICA winners (except for the cheaters).

I’d also like to post the WINTER HOLIDAYS CONTEST winners as picked by the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS. These selections are not official LITEROTICA winners. Instead they were designed and financed with help from ScouriesWorld to reward stories that were the #1 choices of our readers.

Not surprisingly in a contest that is decided by the votes of our readers, the A.I.R. winners list for the WINTER HOLIDAYS contest is dominated by some of LITEROTICA’S all-time greats

We at A.I.R. would also like to send out our prayers to the lovely sarahhh. Get well hon!

Under the ASSOCIATIONS rules a story/author can only win one prize in any contest.

 Meanwhile, in the actual contest...

The sweeps are eating up lots of ones, if the rising scores are any indication.

Average score is up to 4.06 and the median is up to 4.08.

Total ( observed ) swept votes are up to 2687.

Of course, some of the stories from early in the contest are starting to fall off the 30 day toplists, making it unlikely ( if not impossible ) to track vote changes on them from this point forward. The only chance is if they scored highly enough to make the 12 month toplist, and with the trolling of contests, that's unlikely.

So far, the sweeps haven't claimed any victims. The only stories that are below 25 votes never made it to that point ( at least on the toplists ) A couple of stories are deep in the danger range, though. Many more are within that average 35% danger range for contest sweeps that could put them below 25 before it's all said and done.

Only a couple of days left until the winner's announcement, and we don't actually know when Laurel has set the endpoint of the contest. She only said when she was going to announce the winners. So, if you want to vote and have it count, it's best if you read and vote ASAP.

I can't wait till tomorrow, but yet another contest that i don't get any top rating or low enough to get the last place award, but hey maybe next time I'll get something. I'll keep trying, next contest in valentines day. It's the first lit contest i ever entered LOL

I guess from what few comments I've gotten that I need to not be in such a rush to post. Oh well, wait until next summer.

I've been submitting stories since 2005 and never one any of these special contest. It's just fun being part of it, and I do love the quick posting.
Congrats to the winners whomever they are.

I don't know if it means much...but you certainly won my admiration for being a great writer..I loved your stories seriously and am so glad you entered so I had the chance to read them!

Best of luck to you and stick with it! You have a lot of talent!

LITEROTICA’S LIFETIME ACHIEVMENT AWARD

The Board of Directors of the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS (A.I.R.) have decided that it would be appropriate to honor one of the giants of LITEROTICA fiction at the end of each of the Special Contests.

We have decided to call this new prize, one we believe will soon become emblematic of erotic fiction excellence and the most respected author’s award in the genre, the MANU. This name of course honors the first PRINCE of erotic fiction, a man who’s become a giant in the field of erotic publishing.

the :D MANU :D award

These prizes will be awarded based on the author’s complete body of work. This is the fourth MANU to be awarded.

He’s LITEROTICA’S #1 MOST FAVORITE author – as of today’s date 2192 readers have “favorited” him. A member since 2002 he has authored some of the best stories ever issued under the LITEROTICA banner. He;s the one and only:

Joining sarahhh, ManyFeathers and SamuelX as the only holders of the MANU!

Well done sir.

Hoover's still at work. Lost a few more during the day. Score still unchanged.

I'll edit the tracking roundup into this post when I finish if nobody's posted after me.

Here we go.

Average score is up to 4.09. Median is up to 4.11.

Total number of swept votes is up to 2898.

Sweeps still haven't claimed a victim ( dropped below 25 vote qualification bar ) but they're getting close. It's entirely possible that some could already be below, but it just isn't registering in the toplists yet.

Another day's worth of stories dropped off the radar ( 30 day toplist ) so any votes swept on those are lost to the tracking.

Last day! :nana:

I wonder when the winners will be announced?
I won't be able to get on until probably 8 o'clock tonight, so I am gonna be in suspense all day! lol.

Good luck all, we're in the home stretch! :D

When everyone sees their vote totals start taking nosedives, that's when the announcement is on its way :D

Currently, my # of swept votes as shown in the toplists is about 33% off from what I've observed when checking stats throughout the contest. A large portion of that 33% is from the last 24 hours, and should show up in the next toplist update.

I'll try to run a track as soon as I get home if the announcement has been made, and then one or two more to try catch as close of a snapshot of the final scores as possible with the limited reliability of the toplists.

I'll post links to the tracking pages once the winners are known.

EDIT: Speaking of sinking vote totals... If the final sweep isn't running, I'm at least losing votes rapidfire right now. The Hoover is hard at work.

Edit II: Electric Boogaloo: Hemmorage continues. The last few ( less than 10 ) must have all been 1s, because I'm up .03 over where I've sat for most of the contest, and .01 higher than I've seen it since it posted. The increase in average score for the contest should be interesting in the next track.

Now up .04 over my steady score and .02 over the max observed. Still not even a threat to break the top 10 *laugh*

That last sweep wasn't pretty. But, I'm guessing they were 1-bombs that were taken care of. Lovely shade of red. :) Goodluck everyone!

Either nosedives or big jumps, which is what my score did. I lost six votes in the last twelve hours. That might not seem like much, but it went from 33 to 27, and the score increased by .22, and will now sport the coveted H for the first time.

It had been dropping occasional votes, with the score improving slightly, but this was apparently the big sweep.
