And the week started out so well...
I've just got myself a new PC (leaves my Win98 chugger for dead!
) and I've been doing a little mucking about (especially with games
), but I've discovered something a little odd...
I tend to do a fair amount of on-line banking with my credit union, and they use a java applet to run their web banking. I never had any problems with IE5 - just hook up to the site, enter my details and away! I just tried it for the first time with IE6, and this happens:
"Your browser does not support Java applets. You need a Java-capable browser such as (wait for it...) Microsoft Internet Explorer..."
When I saw this, I started looking in my security options in IE6 - and the ONLY option mentioning Java is ENABLED! IE6 help has absolutely NOTHING mentioning Java, and the Microsoft site as altogether TOO MUCH (can't find the needle I'm looking for in all that hay...)
IS there something I'm missing? Should I be calling my PC tech and begging/pleading/abusing him? Can any guru out there help?
(Note: I am not yet interested in changing browsers - besides, I hear Firefox has some niggles with Java...)
