Yes it is true that Bielema is leaving. I for one am not too upset over it, as long as the Badgers can get a good coach to implement the same system they've been running there and continue great recruiting and coaching. They must also continue to get the best WI boys and develop the walk-ons. I think it is because of the walk-ons success that the Badgers football team does so well.
When I heard the news about Bielema leaving yesterday I was shocked at first and then went into, alright lets see who's out there that the Badgers can get for a coach mode. Something must of been up for Bielema to get an offer, take it and leave right away without discussing it with Alvarez. Maybe there is something about why Bielema couldn't keep assistant coaches around? Who knows. I personally think it is a first step in his plan to get back to Iowa. He got an offer to escape UW to make more money. He coaches at Arkansas, in the SEC, for a few years to see if he can handle it. He then either does alright at Arkansas or gets fired and coaches at another school until the Iowa position opens up. His dream job is being the head coach at Iowa, his alma matter, but coaching at UW he will never be able to go there directly from UW. So Bielema sees that Iowa is on shakey ground right now and he took the first step to get to Iowa by leaving UW and is making a little money in doing so. This is just my theory.

I want Alvarez to coach the Rose Bowl. He'll find a way to win that fucker for us.
At first I was peeved that Bielema left. Struck me as ungrateful. We pulled him out of Kansas or Kansas St (whichever, they are both in Kansas), made him heir apparent to Barry and then made him one of the youngest coaches in D1. He coulda stayed here for 30 years and been a God in Wisconsin. Now he'll go to Arkansas and be fired in three years.
Now I'm glad he's gone. We can rehire Paul Chryst and get the offense going again.

You said it well. I totally agree with your assessment of what Bielema could've had and what is going to happen to him.
Yeah, I remember just a few months ago he was making fun of the SEC. Now he has to compete there. He'll get his ass handed to him. He was afraid of Urban Meyer and now he has to try and beat Les Miles and Nick Saban every year? No fucking way.

That's why I'm selective with who I share my chips with. Especially if they are planning to reach in and just grab the chips...
