Well they've already closed 4 schools up here by me in preparation for the storm tonight and tomorrow.

I'm about to make an unpopular comment, I suspect, but...

I wish we were getting snow like that down here in the southern part of the state. I've nowhere to be tomorrow anyway, and maybe I could convince my girl to call in to work and take a snowday with me

I don't think it is that unpopular. This is Wisconsin, we should have enough snow on the sitting around that we can see it. I don't like blizzards every weekend but one every now and then is good for the soul.

I agree with you in theory wiguy. I love going for a walk in the snow when the flakes are big and fluffy and the sky is that strange twilight color.

On the other hand, I detest driving in the slop/ice over the big bridge I have to contend with on the way to/from work.

Driving in snow wouldn't be so bad if people really new how to do it. I have been doing it for years and if you just understand that just becuase you drive an SUV doesn't mean that you have more traction then everything would be good..

EXACTLY!!!! I hate to admit this but I had to laugh at someone who ended up in the ditch last year. I was sitting there driving at 5 under the speed limit cause of the storm we were in you couldn't see more than 200 ft in front of me and this idiot in a SUV comes blowin by me and about a mile up the road there he was in the ditch. lol

I do not miss my commutes when I lived in NE Wi and had to go over the Lake Buttes Des Morts bridge, and the 441 bridge. Awful in winter.

Yeah those areas do suck, I lived down in Menasha and Appleton for 14 years and I hated those areas, I'd go the extra time down to Neenah or go through town during bad weather.

A lot of people are complaining up here and there are those of us reminding them that this is the way we used to get storms and they're like oh yeah I forgot!

Me too......I'd take the "lake road" from Neenah to Oshkosh whenever possible.

Weather Channel says we might be getting thunder snow. Last time I remember having thunder snow, we got 18 inches.
