I think for a lot of women, at least for me, porn has always been a little taboo and a guy thing. When I was a older teenager, or young adult, I didn't really have access to porn --Yeah kiddos the internet wasn't always around-- and in my mind it was a little perverted and degrading.

Getting older and having the 'chance' to view a few, I was most of the time disappointing. This was before YouTube and PornHub. Maybe they were there and I was just to innocent or coy to search. A lot of the time, it looked fake. The girls were all plastic and the men...lets be honest, not always cute to look at.

The porn industry, in my opinion, as come a long way in the last 20 years and I've come to realize that what I enjoy is to see real people enjoying themselves. Woman like me that don't have a perfect body, especially after having kids. Real men. And really, do they need to all have 10 inches cock? No.

What I look for in porn is probably what I look for when I read an erotic story. A story line that's plausible, people somewhat attractive looking - attractive looking to me that is -- sensuality, passion AND good visual.

I mean yes, those short movies, videos are more based on the mechanical aspect of sex, and yes that's ok. So is that why women appreciate it less than men?

My opinion, for what it's worth, I don't think women are less interested. I think maybe we like the same thing or a variation of the same thing. The reality is that more and more porn is made to target women's desires.

The taboo behind it, is something else entirely. With it being so accessible these days, more and more woman are indulging. Do they own up to it? I would say, that it depends where they live in the world.

As to what type of porn women like...well it's a little like asking someone what kind of ice cream they like. Some are Vanilla all the way, some are Chocolate...and other a little more exotic with Lavender, Mango or Dulce de Leche ice cream. My point, there's a flavor for every women out there.

I am always curious about women’s thoughts and tastes regarding porn. Most of my ex’s enjoyed porn to varying levels, but the things that the preferred were pretty distinct from one to another. My wife enjoys porn, but very rarely by herself. One of the things she enjoys a lot about it is noticing the affects of various scenes on me, which I can totally relate to since I find it very exciting when a particular scene or tidbit gets her really hot and horny. Usually if the porn is good we don’t make it very far before we get too excited and distracted with playing with each other to watch the rest.

From my experiences, I think porn can be a great way to sample and explore some fantasies or taboos together in a non commited way. Sometimes it has lead to some pretty enlightening, and exciting, discussions about one another’s fantasies. Some of those fantasies were acted on too 😁
 
I'm mostly turned on by reading porn. I also like writing porn. That's why I'm on Lit.

My wife doesn't care for most porn, but I did find, that she does like porn that is of things she likes. When they show the things she doesn't care for, or want to do or have me do,it actually turns her off.

So...we watch any, it's stuff I have to carefully chose, or edit.

In the box where I've kept some toys for a while, is also a stash of DVDs and even some VHS tapes containing porn. I remember that line, and wondered if they ever found their market. I also remember an interview with the producer in one of the porn mags of the day (this must have been in the eighties). She talked about how her films would never show "money shots" or brutal sex, since they turned her off and her guess was that it turned off other women, too.
