Well, well, well. Spain started with a 0-0 against Cabo Verde and many pundits downplayed their chances but since then they’ve only conceded one goal and neutralised the much lauded French attack tonight. They are European Champions for a reason. Can they do the double again like 2008/2010?

I’ve been quite meh on Spain this tournament, a lot of skill but not much flair. But that was an excellent performance total control all game.

France’s big names will be taking a long hard look at themselves, no one turned up for the French, they really went out with a total whimper. Deschamps may as well fly in 11 new players for the 3rd / 4th place ply off, these guys are done.

Spain should beat Argentina in the final, but expect shenanigans

I find Spain a really hard watch. Yes they are technically excellent and very effective but realistically over 100 minutes of football tonight there were 5 maybe 6 shots on target. Very dull to watch. They will probably win the tournament and not give a hoot about my random thoughts but I can't enjoy them the way I did previous great teams.
Even the Spanish team of 2008 to 2010 were much more enjoyable.

I always thought Spain in the past was inexplicably dull but I think they seem less so now. But then again, I admittedly don't know fuck all.
