World Cup

Only because you haven't made it, convincingly. I know what you want but I don't get why. You want the same "rules and parameters" but if the rules and parameters say something different happens under different conditions, that's still the same rules and parameters even though something different is happening.

What's the harm if some games have a break and some don't? You haven't managed to say.
The point was already made.

Try this. Ireland beats China. It's 75 degrees. They get no hydration break because the people there decide it doesn't feel like they need it. At the same time Egypt beats Panama. It's also 75 degrees but the people there do give a hydration break. China is going to complain they deserved one and the lack of it hurt them. Panama is going to complain that they shouldn't have had one and Egypt benefited more from it.

You don't have different rules for different teams or games in the same tournament.

lol, this is getting dumber and dumber.

First of all, that wouldn't happen if the rules were clear and consistent about when, why and how breaks happened.

Second of all, it's not like the losing team was disadvantaged compared to the winning team. If both teams get the break, to me it doesn't even matter whether the rules were consistent or not.

Lastly: Guess what!
You don't have different rules for different teams or games in the same tournament.
THIS.

We DON'T have different rules for different teams or games in this tournament. They ALL get the hydro break.

People here aren't liking the breaks, I get it. But instead of being transparent about how they simply just don't like it, they're appealing to fairness, or at least to perceived fairness, when there just isn't anything unfair or inconsistent happening in the World Cup.

I guess I'm the dummy for engaging.

Four-times winners Germany lose to Paraguay on penalties!

Paraguay have improved drastically since losing 4-1 to the United States in their first match.

Paraguay will play either two-time champions France or 1958 runners-up Sweden in the last 16 in Philadelphia on Saturday.

And ... more penalty drama as Morocco sink Netherlands.

The Dutch missed three of their spot-kicks and Morocco meet Canada in Houston on Saturday.
