World Trade Center-Plane Crash

This is not the time for political statements. They have been made in NYC and DC. Ordinary innocent people have paid with their lives because there are fools in this world who believe the only way to get what they want is by death and destruction. Rather than working for what they want they kill women and children and view themselves as martyrs. The innocents are the martyrs.

My friend disappeared, without saying good bye. I don't have any more information, other then they are preparing to attack. I think he was called in to attack.

Nice. Shots of Palestinians partying in the fucking streets, throwing candy over the death of Americans. I'm trying very, very, very hard not to feel what I'm feeling right now. God help me.

That's good. DON'T LET THEM GET TO YOU. These people are cowards. They want you to get angry.

Mayor Juliani (SP, sorry) - "Remain Calm"

PLEASE. If you have loved ones. Hug them. Hold them close.

Fighter jets are assumedly blanketing Air Force 1 as President Bush is on the way back to DC. Vice President Cheney is in charge at the moment.

MPR just confirmed that there is another hijacked plane, and they don't know what it's doing as of now.

I'm watching CBS, don't have cable here.

When the second tower came down, Dan Rather went silent. I can't describe the chill.

September 11

I don't know if this wuz mentioned yet as there are so many posts to read...This was mentioned by the FBI as being an anniversary of the signing of the Peace Accord between Israel and Palestinians at Camp David...surely not just a coincedence...I'm in shock at watching the Towers crumble before my very eyes...I had just turned on the news as the whole thing began...unbelievable...just unbelievable

Wow, what a fucking day.

I live near Pgh, PA. Plane crashed (with 90 people on it) in Sommerset.
My college closed down at about 11:00 am.
All classes are cancelled for the day.

I was writting today's date down yesterday, and thought "There's something about that date" and I couldn't think of why it was important. Earlier I heard on the radio "This is a day everyone will remember." I am so upset, I can barely type, excuse any typos please.

Another radio station said after Pearl Harbor it was stated that Japan had "awaken the sleeping giant" and compared it to today.

I hope everyone is safe (Sparky is). I know people who work in the PGH airport. It's locked down. It was reported that a bomb was in the PGH International airport. But thy found out it wasn't a bomb. Thank god!

Raindancer we are all with you on this one. This is hard to even imagine and it s happening right in our own backyard. Literally and for them to be celebrating makes us all even mor outraged.

I just am totally numb all emoions ar making me numb.

The problem is that....

I don't think we have the resources to track down these people and bring them to justice and trial. Its alot harder to arrest a person and bring them to trail safely, then it is to track them down and kill them with a smart bomb from 5 miles up. You have to fully take out the organization. Everyone from the leaders down. If it can be proven that the leaders of a government had anything to do with the attack; providing money, training, equipment, whatever then you take them out too.

Some one mentioned the anniversary of "Black September" I am not familar with this, could someone fill me in?

Well..Palestinians are dancing in the streets. Music and candy along a parade.

..their children are singing "God is Great!"

Hey everyone, what a tragic day it had become. I'm military but unfortunately cannot say anything at this time. All I know is though I am not a very religious person, I am praying to God to stop this and praying for all the families. I am completely stuned by todays events, can't put it into words right now.

Im waiting to hear what Colin Powell has to say, he is the only one in the new administration i believe can deal with this effectively.

I am 70 miles south of Kansas City... all of KC is shutting down. They are doing it as a precaution.

This is unbelieveable. Alabama worried about the Redstone Arsenal here in Huntsville. Calling us nurses in to be on alert. I am praying for everyone all around the world. Please be safe. See you all soon.

If this story I am hearing of Palestinian celebration is true, then it is now the time to "Cry 'havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war."

My heart is filled with murderous rage at the gutless monsters who perpetrated this atrocity.

"On 6 September 1970 the PFLP, again acting on the instructions of the Master, Dr Wadi’ Haddad, carried out one of the most memorable hijackings in history. They began with the simultaneous diversion to Jordan of a Swissair DC-8 and a TWA Boeing 707, which was followed six days later by the hijacking of a BOAC VC-10. The aircraft were forced to land at Dawson Field, 30 miles from Amman, which was quickly renamed Revolutionary Airport. Meanwhile another PFLP hijack team which had failed to board an El Al plane managed to hijack a Pan American Boeing 747 to Cairo and blow it up, while the media recorded the incident for a gasping world audience.
