Tech TV states that the UA flight 93 that crashed on the ground in PA was diverted by the US military - IIRC it was headed towards NYC or DC.

Sniper in Downtown Nashville

There's been reports from my sister in Nashville of a bomb threat and sniper at the SunTrust building downtown. They evacuated the building and she's now heading to her car.

I haven't heard the local news covering this. If anyone hears something let me know.

All I've seen was a blurb on CNN that said a plane is on fire on the National Mall. Don't know if it crashed, was shot down, or the size of the plane. CNN's web site doesn't say anything about it.

Mischka, word from a friend here says it was shot down.

I just spoke to my neice in Anchorage. She says that all of downtown was being evacuated., She also said something about nuclear missiles being aimed at Kodiac (sp?).

I don't know much about it, just what she said to me in a quick hone call. Can anyone elaborate more?

CNN is reporting that three weeks ago Bin Laden circulated a video tape stating that U.S. targets would be attacked soon. This is a terrorist attack. The only question now is exactly which ones were involved.

Maybe... it was said in the heat of the moment. But most sources are saying its his organization - and considering all the other terrorists acts they have been responsible for... they're not exactly innocents, are they?

2 of them were 767s, not 757s. And the PA one crashed, it wasn't shot down.

Is there any doubt in your mind who did. Not mine, and none in the government. The Indiana National Guard has been activated, the last time the Whole Guard was activated it was sent to Viet Nam.

It is Kodiak and I think that is a wild rumor; I know most of the military installations in Alaska having worked at many of them and there is nothing of importance on Kodiak that would justify even a tactical nuke.

The plane that crashed in Somerset attempted to land at the Johnstown PA airport first, but it's landing gear wasn't down. Then it came back down and hit at a 45 degree angle. That's the one where a passenger called on a cell phone from the lavatory that they'd been hijacked.

our canadian borders were closed down completely for a while today, but they are open in some areas now.
if you know anyone who has to travel back across the borders here, allow for very long delay times as there is a very intense search of all vehicles and persons and documents.
i cant believe this has happened. it is like a hollywood movie gone bad.
our airports are closed except for diverted u.s. airflights.
we have even closed down th CN Tower in toronto and our military bases are all on high alert.

Just tried to log on to a webcam that shows the NY skyline and it's out of order.......I've viewed this webcam dozens of times in the past and I've never known it to be turned off.

How this makes our day to day problems pale in comparison. My God, there have to be tens of thousands of people, dead and injured from these attacks. It's worse than Pearl Harbor, but at least then we knew who was responsible.

Yes there is, if we kill Bin Louden and he's not the one who did it the killers get away and are never punished. Don't mistake a witchhunt for justice.
We find out who did it - we don't just guess.

(Wednesday) at 9am gmt.

Blair has just made a statement saying that the UK stands shoulder to shoulder with the States.

This is speculated by BBC 24 HR News as meaning the UK will take part in any retallitory (sp) attacks.
