World War II: Behind Enemy Lines (OOC)

Question to DormantEvil. Is the Russian woman carrying the rifle who appeared at the door my character?

Yeah, sorry about that. I figured it would let you join everyone quicker. And then I kind of skipped ahead to not keep the Americans waiting.

Right now I guess your character could be inside listening in, and could speak with the Americans or the French resistance whilst Iska is speaking with Gurber.

So far. Everything's going well. When all of us get to the American camp. I'm going to make General Conner debrief us. At which time our characters will have a day to get to know each other, heal up, relax, or whatever.

I thought we were in a small place still outside of Calais, and were about to go into the city right now. Maybe we check this firt, I can still edit the post.

Since you'll be a bit slower with posting over the next few days, I can PM you when I find out. Until then, I'll post as if Salima is with the group.

Salima is with the group, I am just noit sure if our group is already in calais. I thought we would have arrived at house in the country, where some resistance people did hide and we had just decided to walk to the city now. (If nobody has a car or cart.)

We're in Calais. The Resistance's hideout and the American's camp is in the city. The city is nearly secured so there arn't many Germa soldiers still fighting.

I'm going to wait for DeathsKnight. Give him time to catch up so he doesn't miss out on something or have too read too mcuh at once. Where is DeathsKnight anyways, Ihaven't seen him active in the D&D themed ORP thread.

Not sure. I think he was fine with us keeping him with the group, but its been about a week hasn't it? Let's give him some more time, I enjoy both of his characters and wouldn't be a very good stalker to abandon him, lol.

I suggest to wait a little as well. His other character Gryph is sleeping (although he could just wake up and could go below deck to check where everybody is staying.)
In this thread, Salima could go off with some NPC as Iska proposed.

I was on the farm as stated in my signature. I did lose my job, so the only internet I have is at my parents'. Will most probably get to posting today, just to get up to speed.

I'm having to take a few weeks off, but will be back. Feel free to have Iska follow along with the Americans, letting them take the lead on whatever we end up doing.

OK DeathsKight, how can your guy know about the nuclear weapons? The Manhatten Project was top secret. Very top secret. Not even high ranking American generals knew about it. The only foreigh powere that knew about it were Britian (whose leader we told in secret) andthe Russian (Who has spies in the Manhatten Project). Other than that@ no one else knew about it. Especially not the Germans. So how would your guy, and only a captain or lieutenant, or whatever the translation is, know about such a highly top secret thing happening somewhere else??

I know a lot about the Cold War Era and Post WWII Era. I love history and study it, especially in those two areas so I know what I'm talking about.

I assume that he was just bluffing to make the american curious. Although the real research was top secret, the idea of nuclear weapons did appear in Science Fiction before the second world war. (In fact, there was even a german research on that topic, but it didn't get very far.)

I think I could help with that my character served under a british general and even spent time incarcerated with him could he have been let in on the impossible city destroying bomb?

Be careful, the Americans will see it as betrayal. A Canadian telling and/or admiting top American secret projects. I'm ignoring DeathKnight's post about the atomic bombs.

And you can join EllysGspot.

Right so you will just ignore me?

You may love your history, but just go sit still for a moment and think it over. The weapons race during WWII was a close thing, the Germans had Nuclear weapons before the Americans, wow you didn't mention that you already knew that...strange...wonder why. So it stands to reason that when top physicist goes underground they are busy working on nuclear weapons. That is why he stated that they knew that the Americans are working on it, they had no idea how far it was, the amount of people involved and all that jazz.

Tell you what, I'll just withdraw from this thread. Kill the German. Then you can play all high and mighty I am a god that knows it all.

Was great writing with you guys. Bye

???

Ok so how are we gonna fit a Canuck in here? I'm gonna think on it for a while can I get a run down the setting and time I saw your general spoke of d day and the old thread said it was 1943 so what is it now?
P.S I chose a guy because he's from a short story I wrote in high school and I like being historically accurate.

This isn't D&D, I have stated my reasons and since my post was just completely ignored and not asked to edit to take out the nuclear reference I'm much better off in threads where I don't just get ignored.

I forgot to change the date. But it's a while before D-Day in which the Americans and British storm the beaches of Normandy. As for how to get your charatcer to join us... well I'll think it over but all I can think about is that Nathan is already with the Americans, probably somewhere in the camp.

Two things:

1. I first had in mind that Mike did know Salima before the war (having met him as a statist in a movie), but maybe we drop that, because he would have recognized her and there would have been some personal talking between them by now. So we better assume that it was some other american in the past and Mike and Salima met for the first time in france during the attack.

2. I think it would be helpful to have some short reports here like we did in the Dropout & Decadent thread, just to follow easier what is going on.

opps I completely forgot. Sorry Belinda. Hmm.... Well Mike has never been able to ge a good look at Salima. He was held captive by the Germans during the assault on the German base. Then during the French Resistance hideout, she was in the corner of the room then she went to see the DeathKnights character. So I can make it where Mike has been too distracted to get a good look at her. I'l make it where Salim seems familiar to Mike but he can't quite place where he's seen her.

Also, I agree with the reviews. I'll have one up soon. I have a lot of threads to take care of. I' have one up within the hour.
