World War II: Behind Enemy Lines (OOC)

Is it confirmed that I will be arriving with Iska's unit? I want to be an unexpected arrival coming in as a new addition to the team.

You`ll have to ask DormantEvil about it. If you want to come as an unexpected addition to the team, then I don`t mind. Prehaps you are part of another division of Soviet troops sent to stop the Germans. Your team was wiped out so DormantEvil decides to take your into her group.

Okay, here`s an update on what has happened in the IC.

Planes carrying thousands of paratroopers. Bad weather and other complications cause a group planes to get lost where eventually they come under heavy fire. None of the American soldiers land where expected to, resulting in many casualties and low supplies for the Americans.

The Germans, under command of Raphael Gurber fight off the American planes, capture Mike Adams and Michaela Anderson, and take them to the German base camp where they hope to get information from the two Americans.

Mean while the Soviets, under command of Nadishka Volovik, arrive a little after the airdrops and encounter Salima Mimoun, a Morrocan civilian, who his helping the French Resistance.

Michaela Anderson escapes from captivity and fmanages to get away before the German can raise the alarm. She chances upon Salima, Nadishka, and the Soviets, and explains the resent happening. They all begin to plan for an attack on the German camp, taking advantage of the Germans confusion.

Sorry for spacing out for so long without posting, will have one up shortly.

iStealth, you are welcome to join my group, fellow comrade.

Hey everyone. I made a mistake on the first post of this OOC. It says that the date is January 9, 1943. I forgot to change it to fit with out IC since there have been changes.

I hope it doesn`t bother anyone but I want that date to be June 6, 1944 or D-Day. It`ll better explain why there were American planes in France. Is that alright with everyone?

I will have to read if the date changes anything in Salimas story, but I think nothing dramatically, since she is still not able to leave france.

I looked through the post and saw that it wouldn`t change anything. Also I`m stuck for now. Mike Adams can`t do anything until some attacks the base and either saves me or I`ll have to escape myself. And the other American soldiers can`t do anything until iStealth replies. I`m also waiting for DeathsKnight`s post.

Huh? I can only post after the attack, whipping what's left of the soldiers to go investigate the explosion. Or did I miss something?

I'm going to post right now. I'm going the "surprise" the group.

Here`s a short bio on the Amerian soldiers.

William Lipton: 6'3" and 182 lbs. 29 years old. Brown eyes, short curly dark blonde hair, pale skin. Looks like Michael Cudlitz. Has a friendly and humorous background but is serious and stern when on a mission.

Thomas Nixon: 5'7" and 169 lbs. 25 years old. Brown eye, straight black hair, tanned skin. Looks like Frank John Hughes. Is a bigot against Germans, Russians, French, British, Itali.... anyone who`s not American.

John Edwards: 6'1" and 171 lbs. 22 years old. Green eyes, straight brown hair, pale skin. Loooks like Scott Grims. Is a prankster and one who keeps everyones hopes up.

Richard Anderson: 5'8" and 174 lbs. 19 years old. Blue eyes, curly black hair, tanned skin. Looks like Douglas Spain. Young and inexperienced kid who`s overconfident and energetic.

Here`s an overall summary of what I have planned for us throughout the IC.

Part One: D-Day. This one is almost over. It`s where we all eventually meet each other, for new people to join in, and get use to our characters.

Part Two: Calais. With the German presense gone. The locals welcome the PCs and have a huge celebration for there liberators. This is for our characters to get to better know each other, relax, and prepare for the next mission.

Part Three: Assistance at Carentan. The characters are ordered to help several other companies capture the town of Carentan so the American and British armor can move off the beaches an into France to help with the war effort.

Part Four: Pushing Into Germany. France is finally liberate and the Germans are falling back. The characters are ordered to assist Alpha Company in a high risk operation to capture a few German officers who are in a well defended area.

Part Five: Battle of the Bulge. The characters assist the Americans in the Battle of the Bulge by providing information and attacking key targets.

Part Six: Encountering the Final Solution. The characters are securing a town and awaiting their next mission. A group on patrol comes across Hitler`s Final Solution. This is to test out character`s reaction and feeling about the war and Germany.

Part Seven: Facing the Madman. The charater help the Soviets in taking Berlin. They eventually find Hitler`s bunker and finally face the man responsible for all of this.

Part Eight: The End of the War. This is the conclusion where the characters face the aftermath of the war and what to do now that it`s all over.

We will have to think of something explaining Salimas presence, as she is no soldier and wont become one (even if she wanted to, what is not the case.) in such a short time.

That is why I originally wanted everyone to be a soldier or someone with military experience. I guess she could act as a scout or spy. I know that non-military persons traveled with soldiersbut they were nurses, aids, pilots, or information gatherers. Since she was with the French resistance, she has to have some military experience.

Being a citizen with no military or combat trainig is not a good idea for a ORP based on WWII. If your interested in the sex, there won`t be a lot of it (about 20% of the tread will have sex in it.)

She could act as a spy in a sense of the old mission:impossible serial, but she would not go down as a soldier in a sense of a swat-team.
I am also thinking of the movie "when eagles dare", where some paratroopers tried to storm a german stronghold in the mountains as regular soldiers, while two (or one, long ago I have seen it) women came by train and disguised themself as secretaries.

Belinda does you character have basic medical experience? Foreign language capabilities?

Our characters need translators. Mike and the Americnas can only speak English. Raphael speaks German, English, and French. The Russians speak English and Russian. So if something happens to Raphael (Getting wounded, seperated, or temporarally away. None of us can speak German of French.)

She worked (as stated) as translator, because she speaks perfect french and english (with accent), perfect arabic and some spain, but sadly no german. Her medical skill is just average. But her family background made her meet people like diplomats very early, and she has some acting skills, as she worked as actress once.

Then thats good enough. Translators, even if they were non-military, followed companies of soldiers. Translators were needed.

Just another thing came in my mind. Even at this time, france is still under the fascistic vichy-regime. Even if we wipe out the german post, we will have the official french govertment against us for some time.

And they won`t do anything. We`re going to be with other companies. What`s the French government going to do? Try to arrest and deport us while D-Day is going on along with a war?

The french governments not going to do crap while a whole war is going on and why would they go after one small group when hundreds of thousnads of other companies and batalions are landing in France.

The French government wanted to be free from German control and welcomed the allies. They help the Resistance and Allies so they could get rid of the German government controlling them.

I'm speaking of Philippe Pétain and his folks. They left for germany with the nazis in late august in 1944, but they were the french govertment till then (and even resistet to give up some time after the allie invasion, but had no more chance then.) They fought the resistance and collaborated with the germans. The vichy regime did control the french police and the local milice and collaborated with the german groups, so they were quite a powerful thread.
All resistance actions and spy operations were not just dangeropus because of the germans, but had to be kept secret before the vichy-regime was finished. (What happened officially in late april 1945, although they were weakend since august 1944.
All I say, that our operation must be kept secret before the officials in france so far, or we might be in even bigger trouble.

DeathsKnight, do you mind doing your not so good stalker a favor and RP what the Germans inside the building are up to.

In short I've blown through the door, and tossed a grenade into the first room...shot a guy or two and reached the stairs.

Not sure how many are left inside.
