Worlds Apart

Jasamine

TRANSLATION:

"Yes, Jasamine. Since the very first year (beginning of time)... both of us...*cough*... you/we are of the Pure Heart...*cough*...

Jack

Jack's fury and rage channeled through the sword in his hands. It was obvious the sorceress hadn't expected him to gain control of the blade, but it hadn't fazed her for too long, because she wasn't relenting a bit. Streaks of blue shot from her body, attacking Jack. Jack repeled as many as he could and grunted as the others lrft cuts and burns on his body. The pain didn't even seem to register in his mind. Only hatred was on his mind.

Neither person seemed to be gaining any ground; the sorceress was only able to hold Jack off and not drive him back, but Jack could not gain any ground. They continued to clash until Jack noticed the sorceress had stopped fighting.

"What's wrong!?" Jack almost screamed. "Fight me!" His eyes trailed up to where her's were staring at. He saw a woman encased in light floating above them. She seemed to be drawing off the energy of the others. Jack's eyes lost their rage for a second. His mouth hung open, gaping.

"J-Jasamine?"

sorian

Jasmine reached for her pouch an withdrew yet another crystal this one more bright and full of energy than the other one.As she placed it in the staff i felt it surge thru me i felt everyonr around me including the sorceress.I felt my eyes change i felt as if i no longer lived but was pure energy.I rose and i felt as tho i wasnt on the ground as if i floatd.I walked twoard the sorceress who was screaming."you may have beat my family before,But they did not have the help we did.Together we hav the power to defeat you" i said. She through me back again but this time i extended my staff and stopped myself in mid air.landing lightly on the grnd, "see tho i may be seperated physicaly i am still connected to them." i said as i walked twoard her again.Drawing my broadsword from the grnd i saw it become encompassed with a blinding white lit.I thru it to jack,"here i think youll like this" as he took it it was like everyone heard the singing of angels."Turning to the sorceress again"Now lets finish this"

Jack

Jack stumbled back. First Jasamine was floating and now Sorian is a ghost!?!?! This was too much.

Jack was caught off guard as Sorian through his sword to Jack. He caught it in one hand and found it odd he could hold each large sword in one hand. Suddenly, he felt a sense of equillibrium. One sword, full of rage and evil. The other, full of courage and good. For the first time, Jack felt balanced. He smiled a smirk of determination.

I'm ready Jasamine...Just tell me what you need me to do...

Mic

I was pulled toward Sorian stumbling blindly. My fingers fumbled for the ring and with an odd sense of purpose I slide it on his finger and a single tear dropped from my blinded eyes. I pulled his hand to my chest and whispered something in a language I only knew of in dreams and foggy memories, my mind translated the words in a haze as I could not see his response as I sought out his pulse, as I chanted the words, "Return to me, that which has passed, return to me, that which is mine, return to me, that which I desire." I blink away tears and listen to the sounds around me, momentarily distracted from Sorian.

As they stood together in that circle, Loki could feel energy surging through all of them. He was temporarily blinded by the light that was caused when Jasamine touched her pouch and started glowing. When she started floating and Sorian turned into a bein of energy, Loki knew where he was supposed to be. He climbed down from the ledge they were on and went over to where his hammer hit the pillar and fallen. He picked it up and hefted it in his hands. The hammer seemed to become a part of him. He ran over to Jack's side, ready to take down the sorceress.

Mic

I pull away realizing if he wished to return he would do so and I turn to face HER and wonder what will happen if/when we destroy her. What will happen to us? I stand slowly feeling taller and stronger as my robe billows out and I feel as if I'm glowing though I feel as if my vision is pieced together through other people's eyes as I see from overhead, Loki's hammer, and even how we look from the Sorceress's eyes.

Dan still lay unconcious in a plie of broken shards, but while his eyes were shut he saw a good many things.

The ghosts of soldiers, each more ancient than the last circled him in his mind's eye. He could see what was transpiering in the cavern despite not being able to move.

"It will not end with her death," said the youngest looking ghost.

"She is not the cause of the change," said the next

"There is another, a demon."

"It is he you must destroy."

"This will help you accomplish the task."

At this the circling specters each layed thier ghostly sword atop Dan's own sword, which appeared to glow slightly.

When they were compleated they rejoined the circle and said in unison; "You and your friends must not fail in this task, for the sake of the world."

And then; "Go now, you are needed."

Reality flooded back and Dan struggled to his feet, all blood and sweat. His sword had fallen a few feet away, and it still appeared to have a blueish glow about it. "Not a dream then?" wondered Dan.

He gripped the pommel and instantly a new streangth flooded through him.

His injuries forgotten, Dan ran over and entered the circle.

The last peice was in place, the circle was now compleat.

Sorian

The sorceress started to panic.Letting fly a i fire ball it hit me square in the chest.KNocking me back a foot or too she noticed it left no burn marks. In return i let fly a beam of white light from my staff which sent her into the far wall.i looked to the others to see what they would do.

Jack

Jack saw the sorceress fling balls of fire at them, but every shot bounced away harmlessly. Jack smiled inwardly at the sorceress's futility. Jasamine's energy seemed to be fueling everyone. Jack swung the swords around in his hands.

They had to be careful not to kill her, or at least not yet, so they could find out how to get off the island. He moved forward, the swords repeling anything that was shot at him. Loki and Dan kept her busy while Jack took the swords and dove them down into her shoulders. She screamed so loud, crystals shattered. Jack smiled.

They had her now. At least he was pretty sure they did...

Mic

My hand stretched out and I felt a line of power reaching from it seeing it through the other's eyes wrap around her waist and hold her howling in place as she fought bitterly but was unable to move from where she stood.

"She is a symptom of a greater evil," I hear myself say the words, hearing the echoes as I hear if from the others point of view and feel it echoing across the cavern like a blade grating against the odd silence that had fallen.

Loki saw the tendril of energy from Mic wrap around the sorceress, binding her. Loki heard her words and knew that they needed to know exactly what they were facing. He got an idea in his head and circled around behind the bound sorceress. Flipping the hammer in his hand, he hit the sorceress on the back of her head with the hammer's handle.

Sorian

watching them pin the sorceress dow i go into a sort of trance. It was like i was reciving images from somewhere.I saw tha sorceress and another being he looked to be a demon but i couldnt tell.He was telling her to make sure that we died yet there was a glimmer in his eyes saying that he knew she wouldnt make it alive.

OOC: Sorry guys, so many people at work have quit that i have been working some insane hours. Go ahead and use me as an NPC.

Jack

The sorceress's hung limply in front of her. She obviously could not fight the power the group was exuding. Jack kept the swords in her shoulder blades. He motioned to Loki to hold her head up.

"Alright...how do we get off of this Island?"

She didn't respond.

"How?! Tell us!" Jack drove the blades a little further in. The sorceress winced, then let a small bloody smirk appear on her face.

"Argh...Jasamine!" Jack yelled. "You know her language! Ask her how we got off this Island!"

Sorian

"its no use jack, she does understand us. She wont tell cause shes still loyal to her master. She dosent realize tho that her master had planned on us defeating her. That he knew he was sending her to her death." i said as i walked in close to the sorceress. "Come now did you think that a demon would want to share his power." i said. she gave a great scream and struggled to get up.Jack still pinning her down kept her there. She started to babble in her language."Ask yourself what do you think."

Jack

For the first time in a while, there was pure silence. Only heavy panting could be heard, but no one was sure who it was. After what seemed to be a long time, the sorceress looked up at Jack's eyes. She whispered a few words, so low they were almost inaudible.

"Pyre Mountain."

"What?" Jack asked, suprised she even spoke at all. Her eyes were fading to a gray color. "Did you say Pyre Mountain?"

"..." The Sorceress opened her mouth again, but no sound came out. Her head slowly drooped over until it rested against her chest. Silence again.

"Is she..." Kelly asked.

"I don't know. I'm not a medic." Jack said. "But she won't be telling us anything else." Jack removed the blades from her shoulders. He stepped away from the body as it slid to the ground, leaving a trail of blood along the crystal wall. Mic walked over to the body, probably to check the vitality. Loki stayed with his hammer over the sorceress's body.

Jack walked out into the middle of the room. Exhaustion and pain finally washed over his body and he let the two swords drop from his hands. The let out a loud metal ring as they clashed on the ground. The power each had vanished and the swords were normal again before they even touched the dirt.

He felt a seering pain in his hands. He lifted them and stared at the palms. Each one contained a star branded into his skin; the right one with one point up, the left one with two points up.

Good and Evil.

sorian

as i watched her drift slowley to the grond i felt myself waning.losing energy.i fell to my knees and passed out.Maybe to just dissolve into the earth as energy does or into the crystal.I didnt know but i knew i had to stick around in one form or another to help out.

Mic

We were all tired, and I slowly followed the cord of energy back to the sorceress and my hands fumbled along her face as my world had descended into darkness again. She seemed familiar and I smoothed her hair away from her face and softly suggesting. "Do you think it is safe to rest here now?" I blinked several times as I saw the ghostly image of Sorian descend and I wondered at what cost this battle would have on each of us. I noticed a change in how Jack felt to me as I heard the clank of his swords following.

All of a sudden, Loki felt tired. Once the sorceress was down, it felt like his energy had just drained away. Maybe it was just the after effects of the adrenline that had been pumping through him. Loki heard Mic's question and responded with agreement. He could see that they were all visibly fatigued and would need to rest before they continued on their journey. They could also use this time to figure out what the hell Pyre Mountain was.

Sorian

s i lay there in the dark oblivion, one thing kept creeping into my mind.'I have to stay here i have to be there for mic.' that very thought kept me from just dissapating.I was haunted by images of armies of undead skeletons and demons and i alone was on the opposing side."mic. i wont leave you" i would scream as i rushed o meet them.Always meetin my demise instead.

ooc i meant the "mic" to be the only one that was to be said outloud.

Jack

Jack turned around to look at the group. Loki was leaning over, panting from exhaustion. Mic was kneeling by the sorceress, her face showing concern, probably for Sorian, who was a ghostly image now, lying on the ground. Dan stood behind him, holding up Kelly, but both of them looked ready to collapse. Finally, Jasamine had returned to the ground and was standing awkwardly, as if not sure whether the ground could support her. Jack took a step forward and stumbled, realizing just how weak he had gotten. All the cuts and bruises that he had suffered in the battle finally registered with his nerves and he had to keep from fainting.

"So...here we are." Jack said in a monotone voice. "We beat the sorceress." He let a smile creep onto his otherwise expressionless face. "I guess we showed whoever is behind us that we won't go so easily." Regarding Mic, Jack nodded. "I agree with Loki. It would be safer to rest here, than to venture out in our current state."

He stumbled over toward Jasamine, who still didn't look like she had recovered from their encounter. "Jasamine?" Jack asked. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"

The sound of his voice echoed not quite in sync with the movements of his mouth and I stood slowly and pulled the cloak down over my eyes and found myself reaching out to his form and my hand connecting with his staff. It pulsed as if it were alive and I slowly pulled out it and my other hand raised up and sparks danced out from my fingers.

It was as if I could see magic, even if I could see nothing else. I wondered how long I should keep such information from the others. Perhaps when they had all rested.

(so it's sorian's guess to how my interaction with his staff affects him)
