Worlds Apart

OOC: WOOT! my computer works again!

Dan stood watching the group, one arm supporting his weight on a stump of crystal, the other was around Kelly supporting her. He was so exausted he could barely hold himself up!

Jack was saying something, but in his state the words didn't register with Dan. The only words he heard were 'rest here'. A sigh from Kelly told him she was only thinking of rest as well. It would have to wait, though. Untill they were sure Sorian and Jasmine were alright.
On unsteady legs, Dan and Kelly walked over to where Sorian lay and asked Mic "How's he look?" concern bleeding through his exaustion.

Mic

Look? she heard and she turned towards the voice and noticed it was Dan and she glanced back at Sorian. "I'm not sure, yet, it's not in my hands anymore." I peer from my dark hood and watch Sorian's energy pattern shift and fade and strengthen and change.

For a split second i saw mic, or atleast i thought i did. i felt myself start seeping into the staff, felt myself loose hold of this plane of being, yet i clug i held and i started too stop. i felt as tho half of me was alread in the staff.I couldnt get it out but i kept myself from flowing the rest of the way in it."mic" i screamed as i struggled to wake myself up.Sitting streight up i realize im back to the real world.i look at myself and realize i can almost see through myself. i realize that i was now a being of energy. the only thing reall showing my form were my clothes. the edges of me seemed to blend in with the air.I seemed to be made of pure light and energy.taking my staff in my hand i felt its power once more and stood. the power in it must have grown 3 fold.looking at mic who had been kneeling beside me i sit back down next to her."you kept me here, if not for you i wouldnt be here, your the reason i had something to come back for." i said as i looked into her eyes. I reached inside the robe and prodused a ring my mother had given me before she died."i am sure this will have been laced with my energy.Take it and your will be able to keep track of me wherever i am." i said as i put it on her right index finger.Getting up i walked over to where jasmine lay.Reaching down i put my hand on her cheek. letting some of my energy flow into her long enough to give her strength.turning to everyone "i have seen a great many things in the little bit i was close to death at and i am still very fatiged, not physically obviously for i am barley here. but i am tired nevertheless.let us rest for the night and we will discuss theings tomorrow" i said. Laying down i place my head in mics lap. leaning up"thank you, i wouldnt be here without you" i whispered as i drifted of into a sort of sleep.

OOC: Sorry I haven’t posted, but I stopped getting messages from LIT about new posts.

As I floated above the room, I could feel myself growing more distant, less a part of this world and more a being of energy. The light that came from me was constantly replenished as I remembered my Father saying “Give out of love and you shall never run out, you shall never grow weary.”

The sounds of the battle were growing more distant, almost as if in a memory.
As they faded I felt myself traveling back in time to my childhood.
Da and I were walking to church early one Sunday morning. There was a beautiful orange glow in the eastern sky and the fog floated in the valleys below us. The chill in the air was enough to keep our step bright as Da sang an old Irish tune. The words were vague, yet familiar.
Suddenly the vision turned to another time when Da and I were running together. I was younger then, around 8 or so. The evening skies were shades of grey and the wind tore at our skin as we went. We slipped into a small cave that was hidden by some brush.
“Keep low, keep quiet. Fill your heart with Good.” my father said in a loud whisper, his handkerchief over my face to keep me from gagging on some awful odor that had come upon us. I heard shuffling footsteps, grumbling and hissing then silence. We waited there for a long time, then…
We were back further yet. I must have been no more than three or four years old. Da was holding me on his lap and he started to speak briefly about my mother, but cut himself off. He then reached into his pocket and produced the pouch that I wore around my neck from that moment on.
Back again… further, until I was no more than a year old peering out of my crib. Mother lay in their bed, the room was filled with a foul smell. She was crying and Da was by her side. There was a dark figure in the corner of the room. Then I heard yet another cry ~ a baby! This must have been the sister that Da spoke of only once before. Then I heard a smooth deep voice.
“Give me my baby.”
“No, No!” my father begged.
“You know she has been mine since her cursed conception. GIVE HER TO ME!”
“It will be the death of my wife, my Josephine. Please, no…”
“As you wish it, it shall be!” hissed the dark figure.
I heard Mother scream, Da shouting, a brief scuffle, then silence.
The dark figure and the baby were gone.
Da was kneeling next to Mother’s body, his sobs muffled in her dress.
He lifted his head and shouted an agonizing cry.
“CURSE YOU AAAAAAAAAAAARRLLLLLOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKK!!!!!”

I felt myself coming back to the present, but was stopped by an intense pain in my shoulders, like swords being driven through my body.

Then all was black.

Mic

When he took the staff from his hand I smiled and noticed that I could only see him and Jasmine in my world of darkness. I felt him slide the ring on my finger and later when he rested his head in my lap, I let my fingers smooth his hair before they drifted downward to the chain that rested around his neck, I plucked the ring I had offered him and moved it down to his hand and placed it on his right index finger. "I have always been able to sense you." I glanced up feeling a gap in my senses as Jasmine falls from the sky and fades from my vision. I can sense the others moving and I close my eyes focusing my other senses and once I figure everything is as good as it will get for now I lean against the wall and let myself rest, my right hand covering his feeling a warmth spreading traveling both from the rings and our hands and through them.

When I finally woke up I was amazingly refreshed and I noticed I could see energy patterns in the cave, fuzzy glowing beings that I slowly sorted out who was who by shape and color. I was glowing lavender, Sorian had a silvery glow, Jasmine was a pale metallic blue, Kelly pale green, Dan was linked to her in a darker shade of green, Jack was divergent with red and blue swirling around him, fighting each other, and Loki was a silky milk chocalate color, all glowing yet the light did not hurt my eyes, as I was seeing them not with my eyes but with some other sense that had taken over since I had been blinded.

"I'm starving," I said and reached my left hand into my cape and pulling out three soft warm rolls. I scarfed one down and juggled the other two in my hand and then tossed them out to the nearest two and pulled out more. Offering one to Sorian before tossing the rest of our merry band one each.

my dreams were fitfull and full of death.the ndead i had seen we growing stronger.Demons had com to aid the one who started this. all less powerfull but still major problems.and yet it was not just us behind mic stood 3 score of white lights. behind me stood another 3 score of angels.we were waging a war of good and evil. the war had begun at the dawn of time. Jack was standing with but one sword, not two as i remember him having last night, and he seemed balanced.kelly was by his side. weapons st rdy. jasmine had but one light behind her, one that looked to be just like her. and finally loki, looked confident and rdy to meet whatever fate may befall him.

even with these allies i had not seen we were still outnumbered 70 to 1 atleast.moving forward i would scream some unknow words. i would burst into a brilliant flame, not red as of normal falme, but a light blue flame that let up the dark battle field.the angels would draw there swords and we all would charge.

then i awoke.looking around i walk over to jasmine. something told me something was wrong.placing my hand on her wrist i was thrown back into a image it showed only her and the sorcereses energies linked somehow.i knew not how.snapping back i turned to jack, waking him,"is she dead check her is the sorceress dead." i asked

Mic

I stood slowly and blinked a few times clearing my eyes even though I was seeing differently old habits die hard I suppose as I listened to his question, stretched, popping my back, and glanced at the dark energy of the sorcery feeding off jasmine

Jack

Jack sighed as he held Jasamine close. Her breathing was slow and uneven. He couldn't even remember the last time they had a conversation. The last few hours had been a blur. Hell, the whole damned trip has been a blur. It seemed like only minutes ago they were on the beach after he had pulled her out from drowning. He hadn't expected to grow so close to her, but somehow...here we are.

"Is she going to be okay?" Jack asked Mic. She shook her head.

"I dunno. It looks like the sorceress is feeding off of Jasamine's energy. It's keeping her alive."

"So let's kill the sorceress!" Jack said. "Before she drains Jasamine dry!"

"It doesn't work that way, Jack." Mic responded. "The sorceress formed a bond. If we kill one, the other goes as well."

"You've got to be fucking me." Jack growled.

"Can you remove the bonding with a spell?" Kelly asked.

Loki woke up, feeling refreshed. He noticed what was going on and walked over to the group as they were discussing Jasamine's condition. He heard about the bond and an idea popped into his head. "Wait a second," he said, "are you sure it is even safe to remove the link between them? What if they are feeding off of each other?"

"The best I can do right now is strengthen Jasmine, give her some of my strenght and even that is risky in her state." I glance at the glowing form that is Jack. "Carry her and think positive." I look around. "Dan or Loki if you can get the bitch great." I yawn, "Kelly do you feel like looking for a safe way out of here?" I ask before looking for Sorian. I would have to find a moment alone to speak with him.

Jack

"Loki's got a point. We'd better not put either of them in danger." Jack nodded. He followed Mic's advice and picked Jasamine up in his arms. This felt vaguely familiar. Didn't this adventure start out this way? He looked over into Jasamine's eyes. He could see pain and suffering in them. Jack frowned visibly.

"Positive thoughts, Jack." Dan advised, retelling Mic's words. Jack sighed. Positive thoughts....right. We're slowly dying in this God-forsaken island and I'm supposed to have positive thoughts?

Jasamine lips parted and let out a slow moan before falling back into blackness. Jack sighed. Don't worry Jasamine...I'm not going to let you down this time.

"So what are you thinking for an escape route, Kelly?"

Spinning blackness surrounded my entire being, together with an irridescent blue light. It was a raging in battle as they collided and backed away and regrouped, coming back again for more.
I was in a massive state of confusion. Nothing seemed to be making sense. I felt seperated from myself, yet almost like there was something new and exciting that had been missing from my life coming to pass, but not without some iminent danger. THe confusion spun with the storm of color as I felt myself drifting away but closer. Nothing was making sense.

I could hear the voices of Jack and Mic and the others, but they were muffled.

Then I heard my mother's voice again repeating the words she had spoken not long before...

"Love that has no beginning or end, it shall light the way. Two shall become one together in light , and the circle around them has no beginning nor end...therein lies you answer, Jasamine."

Thoughts were forming in my head at such a rate that the whirring blue and black were growing to be part of it all, part of me.
Thinking about the words she had spoken, I tried to see what it was I had missed. It must be something... the "love that has no beginning or end" was troubling me. We had made the circle as we were told.
Nothing. I could think of nothing. We connected, I held the energy of the others up and they fought well. We stayed together, not one greater than the next in importance to the group.
WHAT? What was missing?
I then felt Jack around me. The touch of his arms was so comforting, but there was a difference in him. He was srtonger, more balanced. He till had that edge of anger, but it had subsided somewhat.
Jack had grown to be very important to me and I could feel him drawing me back. We had gone far together & he wasn't going to let me go. Neither would I let him...

Suddenly I heard movement below us and the pain in my shoulders imediately increased.

I screamed in such great agony that I felt it echo all around me, then I realized the scream was not mine alone. There was soemone else joining me... someone very much a part of me.

sorian

"is she alive, the sorceress she has to be alive. its imparative." i said as i watched them hoist jasmin and the sorceress onto ther shoulders.sencing that mic needed something i dropped back to the back of the group and asked"whats bothering you"

Jack

"Well," Kelly said, scanning the room, "I doubt we should go back the way we came. We'll need a new route."

"I don't see anything." Jack sighed.

"Well, I think that's the point." Kelly said simply. "We aren't supposed to see it." She walked over to the shattered crystal walls and ran her hands along them.

"Are you thinking there's some kind of secret switch?" Dan asked.

"That's what I'm hoping." Kelly said. Her hand slipped over a crystal shard that pressed into the wall. Next to her, a section of the wall slid away. She turned to the others with a grin on her face. "See?"

"Alright!" Loki smiled. He shifted the sorceress's body so that it rested easier on his shoulders. Jack even let a smirk appear on his face. He turned to see Mic and Sorian talking. At least the warrior mage was walking again. It cut down the amount of bodies needing to be carried. He watched Loki and Dan join Kelly's side. He glanced around to make sure no one was looking, then bent his head down and kissed the unconsious Jasamine's forehead. Get Better.

He walked over and joined into the coversation by the new doorway. Dan's was looking around inside the doorway. "It's a spiraling staircase." he grimaced. "And it's going straight up."

"Well, let's hope it goes all the way to the surface." Jack said. The other three turned to look at him. "Because this is going to be our route."

Mic

I smiled at him and took his hand and just caressed it for a moment. "I just have this feeling that a different type of connection is required. For some reason I hear a voice talking about a circle without end and two becoming one. It sounds like wedding vows." I pulled his hand up and pulled him in closer. "Can't you hear it?" I ask and then feel the oddest impulse and lean in and kiss him opening my mind and the chant to him.

Love that has no beginning or end, it shall light the way. Two shall become one together in light , and the circle around them has no beginning nor end...

"Well, we might as well get going." Dan declared inspecting the staircase for any obvious pitfalls. He didn't see any, but then that was more of Kelly's specialty.

"Everyone ready?" he turned around to see if Sorian and Mic were in traveling condition, then turned quickly back around. "Uhh...we can wait a minute longer." Dan said and made an exagerated observation of the floor infront of him.

Kelly grinned at him and started up the stairs. "Im going to scout the stairs a little."

"Be careful," Dan said to her back.

"Yes, MOM" she said back, but she tossed a wink over her shoulder to soften the jibe.

Dan just shook his head and went back to observing the floor infront of him.

blushing a red as red as and energy could get, i looked at the ground. hearing the chant i felt the same impulse that mic did , yet i knew it ment something else aswell.not letting that bother me i looked up again and kissed her again.Barely holding enough substance to follow thru with such an act.i turned as we followed th group.

Mic

The kiss was strange and I pulled away just in time to clear my head and smiled and took his hand lightly and we followed Jack and Jasmine up the stairs. I got the sense that Sorian was not completely fleshed as his hand felt odd tingly energetic almost and I wondered if we even could. I pulled my cloak over my head and allowed him to lead me following the energy patterns of Jack and Jasmine up the stairs.

Loki hefted the Sorceress on his shoulder and proceeded to follow Dan up the stairs. As he was walking, he began to wonder where the stairs would lead them to. They might open up into a castle, he thought to himself. He thought it would be interesting to walk around castle in this situation. Another thought entered his head. "Does anyone know what or where this Pyre Mountain is?"

Jack

Kelly returned into the entrance to the crystal room with a large grin on her face. "Good news, guys. These stairs go straight to the surface." With a hurried motion, she encouraged the group to go up the stairwell.

The stairs spiraled upward into darkness and the climb seemed to last forever, especially for Jack and Loki, who were carrying someone in their arms. However, they eventually reached two large wooden double doors. Kelly pushed them open and the stairway flooded with light. Jack covered his eyes with Jasamine's body.

When the group overcame the initial brightness, they ventured out the large doors. They found themselves at the edge of the forest; the doors were in one very large tree. Jack's eyes scanned the area. "Looks like we reached the end of the forest."

"Is that a town down there?" Dan asked, pointing at what appeared to be a small village.

"I think we should check it out." Kelly nodded. "Hopefully, we don't run into anyone evil."

"Maybe we can find out what Pyre Mountain is." Jack agreed.

"Uh, Jack?" Loki tapped his shoulder. "I think I found it." He pointed to a large, looming volcanic mountain that rose up from the background and streched into the clouds.

It was nice to breath fresh air and she took a deep breath in closing her eyes for a moment wishing that her new eyesight weren't quite so painfully glowing. However she could see the connection between the bitch and Jasmine, it went further than what anyone thought, it was more than physical and the more she tried to unravel it the more confused she got.

Jasamine

I could feel the movement of being carried. I could see nothing, but heard even less. I was in some kind of seperate reality, not really a void, but void-like. There was an inner turmoil intermingled with inner peace. I felt someone reaching for me in desperation, then nothing. I could only "feel", not see or hear.
I felt words in my head...Mother? No, not quite.

"Sissssssssterrrrrrrrrr... help me...can't ...hold..."
What the hell?

Then once again I heard and saw nothing, not until I felt the light around me. God, I wanted so badly to pull out of this. What was happening?

Jack

The sun was still high in the sky when the party arrived at the town that lied in the valley between the hills. The houses with thatched roofes lined the coble roads. Villagers roamed the streets, crowding at the market places and other areas of interest.

Dan kept his hand on his sword as he led the group into town. "I don't know about this. What if these guys are going to be hostile to us? They could be set up by the whoever is running this crazed island."

"I guess we will have to find out." Mic said simply. Loki nodded in agreement. He shifted the sorceress's weight and followed Dan in. Jack followed behind, carrying Jasamine.

The people in the town stared at them oddly. They gave the group a wide berth as they walked down the road. Jack stopped and put Jasamine down on a bench that rested in the shade of one building. "I think kelly should take everyone else and go find an inn. Get us a room if you can. I'll watch Jasamine and the sorceress here in the shade. I don't think it's good to be carrying them around in this heat."

He turned back to Jasamine. He searched his pockets. He found a waterskin and gently put the end to her lips, letting some water trickle down her throat. He hoped she would regain consiousness soon.

They enterred the town and Loki just looked around in awe. It was like something out of an encyclopedia. Everyone in the town stared at them as they walked through the town and wouldn't get close to them. They reached a bench and Jack placed Jasamine down on it and told them to find an inn. Loki placed the sorceress down on the bench and stretched, the weight finally off his shoulders. He stayed behind to guard Jasamine and the sorceress with Jack. As they stood there, a man in rags passed by. Loki waked up to him and said, "Excuse me sir, we are travellers from a faraway land. What information can you give us about Pyre Mountain?"

Jasamine

The movement stopped and I could finally smell fresh air. There was an odd tingling sensation in my fingertips, but not at all unpleasant. The sounds of voices were starting to get clearer and I was pretty confident that it was Jack next to me on my right. I felt water on my lips. At first it shocked me, but somewhere inside of me I realized how very long it had been since I have eaten or drank anything so I opened my mouth a bit, drinking it in. Clearer yet were the voices. Yes , it was Jack and Loki and what sounded like a small crowd of people not far away.
I felt an almost magnetic pull from my left side. Who was there? I still could not see clearly, my head wouldn't stop spinning.

"J-jack..." I managed to get out.

I tried to reach up to his face, I wanted so badly to touch him again. Then all faded again, with one exception. The woman beside me. I saw her eyes, icy and deeply familiar...
