I think the issue I have is WHERE a fetish forum should go. I still think fetishes that aren't "str8" in nature belong in a subforum under GLBT. After all, isn't GBLT supposed to be about tolerance? I can be just as insulted as the next guy/gal on guys that say gay-gross-but-cock-wonderful. However, if they are kicked out, what does that tell them about GLBT tolerance? Again, I'm not against a fetish forum, the question is where does it belong. I think there should be two. One for things completely str8-fetishes, and one for everybody else under a subforum in GLBT.

Is it because you feel like this would tear apart the GLBT community? You won't be able to post on lesbian threads anymore or something? There are other places for gay men to conversate with LBT.

I honestly think a fetish forum would be a good idea
It will simply mean that people can skip the stuff they are not interested in.
I see on some of the boards of Lit, there is so much bashing when someone makes a statement or asks a question, that it reminds me of kindergarden petty playground fights.

In a nutshell:

If you are into a fetish You can associate with likeminded individuals
You can post and read things which tickles your fancy
You can be free to ask and comment(within limits)

I assure you I am doing everything I can to get it done. It's mostly taking place through PMs with Laurel.

I voted 'I don't care.' I currently am able to find the threads that interest me. If a new Fetish forum is created, and some of the threads I enjoy are moved to that forum, I am pretty sure that I will still be able to find them.

How many PMs does it take? Making boards is not hard admin-side, and the only way to know if it'll flop or rise to the challenge is to make it. Several of us non-"straight cocksucker" posters have already indicated we plan on using it even though we oppose the flooding of GLBT with non-GLBT threads. With the moving of various fetishy threads from here and new additions from those of us who want the board, I think it should take off and people will gravitate on in.

The story section has a fetish section.

The only thing I can think will be problematic is picking a mod. I know there's a few posters I'd like to see get it, but I can definitely understand it being difficult deciding off the ramp who'll mod The Fetish Fulcrum.

It takes as many pm's as Laurel requires. She's a web 1.0 kinda lady in a web 2.0 world. You just have to accept that.

There may well be, believe it or not, the issue of server load. One more forum might not seem tough on the button-clicking front, but click that button and you're asking a bunch of computers to do a shitload more stuff than they were doing before. .

But I sure wish she would move forward on this request.

I know that there's a level of discussion that needs to take place, especially on sites that are not democracies. Don't worry. But I'm all in favor of this forum and I'm going to sit here and post reminders too, that we want this forum, until I get a concrete yay or nay. ^_^

You might have better chance of that at a forum specifically for that interest group...I don't think we have very many here. But if we get a fetish forum, that will be a good place for it!

Yeah, if you're looking for a specific interest group forum, forgive the pimping because I don't even actually post there... crossdressers.com seems like it might be a good place for that. Pretty obvious but they have decent forums for people who want to meet crossdressers, find crossdressing information, etc.

But if we get a fetish forum, I'm sure there will be plenty of MTF-as-a-fetish varient threads to pursue! (Am I the only woman who thinks women crossdressing are hot?)
