Several hours later jack eyes fluttered open. Leena had slid of to one side
And purred into his neck sound asleep. He reached with one hand pulled the sheet over them. This felt different..he couldn't let himself fall in love. She was who no where's were rebounding from a shitty situation. He closed his eyes again to wait for the sunrise and whatever tomorrow may bring.

She slept deep feeling safer than she ever had before and somewhere in her mind that was terrifying. He surely would not want her to stick around and constantly have Callis looming over his head. Feeling him move she woke up a little biting her lip.

She started to say good morning but fell silent part of her wanted to run part of her wanted to stay. Whichever part won may depend on him and if this was some sort of fling to him as even more personal revenge against Callis.

He felt her stir a little later and kissed her on the nose as she blinked awake.
After a quick wash and a shave he put on some shorts and made the coffee.
All the while he was thinking about when would be the best time to tell her Calies had been seen looking at the truck and discussing what they should do next. He did not like keeping it from her , but he couldn't bring himself to ruin their time together. When she came out of the cabin he had her coffee and a bagel ready for her. As she walked past him he playfully reached out and pulled her onto his lap. He had planned to tell her his ideas on where to go cruising today and stay overnight next. But that's not what came out of his mouth. His own shocked him." babe I have a confession to make. Waking up with you on my shoulder I realized this is the happiest I've been in I can't remember when. This is the way I want things to be. I'm not afraid of your ex, not in the least. Jack let out a sigh of relief. " You don't know how much I needed to hear you say that. All I want is to keep that thousand watt smile on your face and know i put it there. He held her face in his hands and kissed her like they just won a world war. Smiling at her once again" I desperately want to tear those shorts of you and take you like the caveman I am. But the families will be coming up the river before to long. Let's go cruising and find a nice place for lunch. Maybe we can have some hanky panky on the high seas. He stood picking her up with him
and kissing her . I have to get us ready to get under way. If you could straighten up the cabin then come up to the bridge with me."

Pressing into the kiss she smiled at him and snuggled in his embrace for a moment before nodding.

While she was inside he sent a text to stuart instructing him to put the pick up back inside the yard at the shop. Then he got the boat started and pulled the anchor . As they made their way back out of the river and out the south channel he relaxed. The cruises slowly out around the islands and turned north . He has one arm around here as he pointed out the some of the historic sites on the islands. He pulled her over onto his lap so she could steer for awhile. She felt so good on his lap giggling and laughing as he couldn't help himself kissing. And teasing her while she had her hands on the wheel.

It was wonderful to truly be relaxed and safe. She was falling and while.it scared her he didn't scare her. She enjoyed the cruise and his affections as they toured around

It was another two hours before jack tied up in the north shore marina..
There was a restaurant and hotel attached to the marina. The restaurant had outdoor seating overlooking the water and shops attached. " I think you'll like it here, It's kinda Italian seafood with a jimmy Buffett atmosphere. Before we go eat I would like you contact your attorney. Tell him you have evidence your ex is stocking you. Let's see what he has to say. Maybe he can slap a restraining order on him for starters?. I want to force his hand, make him tell me what he's after. Frowning at her expression " don't worry honey, I won't let him near you". I want you to able to do whatever you like without fear of seeing him ever again.

She nodded and smiled to him and called her lawyer. After talking to him for a bit.

He will look into everything he has no idea where I am I just told him.I was traveling for a bit.

He held her hand as they walked up to the upper level. He was laughing at himself realizing he felt like a fourteen yr old that had landed a date with the prettiest girl in class. When they were seated he asked if she was in the mood for a martini. " If your lawyer doesn't step up soon I will have to handle him my own way. " still looking over the menu he waited for her thoughts on that.

Actually a double old fashioned.

She smiled and shrugged.

I literally just called him.but what is your way?

Well.... the best defense is a good offense. I will pay him a surprise visit and make it abundantly clear what he's doing is a losing proposition. Let him know that whatever it is he is after , he will have to speak to me ....because you will not speak to him period.

That is unless you want to hear him out? ...

We could arrange for him to call my number and put him on speaker phone.

She tensed a little at his words more at her talking to Callis. She knew he would try to manipulate or threaten her and she would be fearful enough to run back and she didn't want that she wanted her freedom. She was also a little worried about his method for stopping Callis. She didn't want him hurt or in jail.

He watched her carefully while he spoke. Her apprehension about the phone call was clear from the expression on her face. Reaching across the table he took her hand. "Lena honey you don't have to speak to him. I for one would be happier if you didn't. I do you need to be completley honest with me,don't let me get blindsided. I will protect you...you know I want you with me. We have time. Let's enjoy our lunch ... maybe get a little tipsy, then you can have your way with me on the boat.

 

[Asa]

There is always that one person ya know that can maybe scare you into doing stuff against your best interest or safety... Maybe by threatening or hurting those around you he is that to me. That hell I would be too scared not to go back to, to protect those I... Love.

She bit her lip but smiled and laughed a little at his words.

It was a vague statement that begged for more details. The possible implications were disturbing at best. He knew this would be difficult for her to talk about. Their lunch arrived and he ordered two more drinks and gave here hand a gentle squeeze " thats a good beginning Lena honey, information is extremely important now. I also need to know how much your attorney knows.
But for now leta let's eat , we can talk more later in private.".

She nodded and smiled as they ate. She looked around then back to him.

So is this often a stop for you? I really like it here. It's peaceful and the food is wonderful.

She did not see someone watching them talking softly to their "companion who seemed quite busy texting or something.

He smiled back at her ... it used to be ... nice place to bring a date
Haven't had any reason for a while now. The couple whispering and texting would not have made it as spies. It didn't matter..they recognized her and couldn't wait to tell someone. The question was who. Sitting back he thought it out. Callies knew they were on a boat...but what boat? He had a wide network of people ,but not like the fbi canvassing every marina. He had simply underestimated her star power. They were probably just texting friends like groupies do. Still with the speed of the internet he could not risk thier location getting back to her ex before he was ready to deal with him. He flashed the waitress a signal to send the check. He winked at Lena" baby i have some teq3with you're name on it , you might want to visit the ladies before we go back."

With that, she headed to the restroom. No one followed her to at least no one she noticed. Going and freshening up a little she straightened her clothes and turned to walk back out to him.

Jack walked quickly over to the table where the lady was texting.
Bending down to meet thier eye level he asked them ." Do you recognize the women I'm having lunch with ? "The one that was texting looked up a little startled at how close he was. " yes I'm a big fan... were we being to obvious?" Just a little not bad"
He smiled again pointing to her phone " were you telling someone she's here?"
The woman stammered " oh just my sister she's a fan too" jack could tell by
Their faces they were being truthfull " well as fans you know she's struggling a little bit at the moment and staying out of limelight for a bit....so i would like to
Make a deal with you ...ask your sister to tell no one for at least three days. And in turn i will have her pose with both of you while I snap a picture with your phone. Both were ecstatic and nodded in agreement. Jack turned to see Lena walking toward them. " hey babe I just met some big fans of yours, this is....the first answered Gina the second Donna. Let me pull another chair over Lena if you sit in the middle I can get a nice photo on Gina's phone. Taking the phone he backed up a step . He scrolled through her text message and read "she's less than ten feet from us sitting with a gorgeous hunk"
Jack wiggled his eyebrow at gina . She realized he had read her text and blushed crimson. "Now everybody squeeze in close and wave at the camera"
