X-Men: Unleashed!

"I think so, I'll worry about resting when we're out of here. Thanks for your help, you too Kane. Let's get out of here before these guys wake up or even worse, if some of thier buddies come looking for them."

Spiderman took the initiative. While everyone else wondered about the shatter that was about to happen, his spider senase had already warned him of the threat to come. As the glass shattered, he leapt, jumping over nearly all the assailants.
As his feet touch the ground, someone grabbed his neck. A big bulky man had grabbed him, and was now looking with a deep lust for destruction.
Not today.
With a flick of the wrist, webbing went out to his face. As he let go, trying to get the web off, Spiderman jumped down, kicking with both of his feet. The man flew back into the elevator.
With a flash of red, blue, and web, Spiderman dove into the attackers. It ended sooner than he thought, mostly thanks to the new individual who had provided the distraction.
"Well, Aren't we..." just then he heard police outside. Boldly leaning out, he saw sixty floors below the cops were already running inside.
"Light dude, or Sun Man, or lazerboy, you wanna stay out of jail tonight, follow me."
His form left the building window, letting a web catch the side of the building. A few minutes later he landed on a utility shed above the roof of a building. Jumping down to the roof itself, he looked out into the open air.
"So, wanna explain why you've been following me?"

"The name's Lightwave... (gasp)...Had to find you...(pant)... The others..."
Lightwave stopped. Here was a real hero, a guy who never showed fear in the face of danger, and Lightwave was about to tell him how he had let his classmates die.
"The others. Most of us got away but they didn't, the hurt ones! They're fucked now! Oh Jesus...It's my fault!"

He paused and collected his thoughts. "Sorry, I mean, I was helping the students who couldn't walk, and then the cops came, and now the students are dead! They shot them! And I let it happen..."
He broke down again, sobbing.

"Hey, hey, hey calm down," Spiderman stepped back, all he had asked was what happened. This must be a rookie, crying like this over a little death.
"All right, Light..."dude? Man? Person?" uhhh, wave? You can't go through your life crying just cause you couldn't stop that one incident. If you would have jumped in to stop them, you would have just died too. You need to live, not to fight stupid little mutant haters, but to get back at the people who set that fire."

He took out the C drive, "Listen, I'm going to NYU, use some of their computer equipment to see if there's anything here I can use. Would you like to join me?"
Personally, he worked alone, but this guy needed to feel like he was helping.
With that, he leapt off the building, webbing on his way to the university. It isn't easy being Spiderman.

Bastard

"C'mon," I said, pointing toward a manhole cover not far away. "Let's get underground before any more of them come back."
I hurried over and fought with the manhole cover, finding it hard to remove it, but somehow managing (though I had to actually grip the edge's of the damn thing swith my fingernails to do so).
"Come on," I said, trying to hurry them more, wanting to get out of the street before anyone saw us entering here.

Introducing: Hardcore and Adrenalyn

(From Hardcore's perspective)

"Well, have you?"
Again, the man didn't answer. He just stared at her. She stared back for a moment.
"Perhaps not," she said, finally, the man actually becoming more at ease at having the silence broken. Odd, given the circumstances.
"Well, try and imagine this. I'll try and keep this brief, but i tend to go on about such things. I was thirteen years old when my parents abandoned me. My PARENTS. Can you believe that? Just because I wasn't what you might call a normal child. They left me in an old car in front of a mini-mall, waiting for them to come out, which they never did. I lived on the streets for almost five months, stealing and hiding from police, hoping I would never have to sell my body, and unsure if I even could, being a little unusual. They could tell I was, and they seemed to hate me for it. I found out about a place then, a school for awkward children like myself, and I felt that I'd finally been saved. But they weren't much better to me. They made fun of me, just because I was so skinny. I started to eat more, trying to gain weight, and found that eating was a good way for me to deal with the stress I'd been through, but then I gained too much weight. Then they made fun of me, calling me fat and laughing. Then, as i lost the weight and got back to normal, my powers began to mature and I started to have uncontrolled spurts of energy, moving around the room at an excessive speed. I thought this would impress them, but they laughed at that too, and they started calling me 'Hyperactive Girl,' like that was a name befitting one such as I. All of them laughed at me. I felt dejected, totally unwanted. I've never really gotten over that."
She stared at the man again, who stared back, his eyes wide with fear and confusion. She looked at her feet then, seeming to feel some of what she'd been saying on a truly genuine level, as if talking about it took her back there to the taunting again. When she looked up again i couldn't see her face, but the man recoiled.
"Oh, well," she said, "I guess you just don't get any of this." She shrugged. "I feel better having talked about it, though. If that conforts you any..."
She stood then, kicking her chair away. The man began to shake.
"They don't know who they attacked or what they've made of me, or even the full extent of my abilities, but they will."
She smiled then, glancing back at me over one shoulder. That was my cue. I stood up, lifting my weapon from the table in front of me and moving a few steps closer, waiting.
"Time to get on with the show," she told him, "Now hold still, and I won't make this any worse than it has to be."
She stepped closer to him, kneeling in front of him and reaching out to grab his head between her hands. SHe lowered her head and closed her eyes. A moment later, both tensened suddenly. He let out a groan, his mouth falling slack.
I waited, impatient, ready to leave a few minutes ago. THis usually didn't tak etoo long, but she had a flair for the dramatic. After only a few seconds, she pulled her hands away and stood, taking in a deep breath.
"Got it?" I asked.
She nodded. "Terrorists. They seem so intelligent, getting away with all that mischief, but he really didn't know all that much. It was useful though. With his knowledge, I can do a good bit more damage, even if we use it in a better arena."
"Let's kill him and get out of here, before his men realize where we took him."
"Nervous, Hardcore?" She asked smiling.
I smiled back. She knew I'd prefer a fight. "Nope, but I'd rather we weren't found out just yet. If your old friends know we're around, it'll take the surprise out of the whole thing."
"Let's go," she said, already heading for the door.
"What about him?"
She shrugged. "Let him go."
"What? What for?"
"Why kill him? It's outside of our objective."
"Why let him live? These fuckers are the scum of the Earth. They kill innocents. That's not our objective."
She thought about this. "Okay, but quick and painless."
I chuckled. "How about just quick?"
She smiled and exited, leaving me to it.
I watched her go, eyeing her lovely swaying hips as she went, then turned to the man in the chair, raising my gun.
"I'd say it's been nice knowing you, but..."
I went to work.

Jose fernandez

" We know what your capable of Mutie! " the suits voice was harsh as he slammed his hands down on the table infront of Jose. shakled to the floor by cuffs around his wrist and ankles.

"I did not set fire to the mansion, I couldn't I'm not that strong... That place was my home, my friends, everyone... Its not my fualt! " his voice was a bit shakey, how could they blame him for the burning of his home, he only had a small record from his early teen years, granted it had been arsen... because he had yet learned how to control his powers, the whole military school had been burned down, and he had taken quiet a beating from his class mates afterwards. The feel of a back hand connecting with his face snapped him from the memry, and he turned to spit blood out on the ground the taller of the two suits standing in the corner watching finaly spoke

" Just tell us how you did it Mister Fernandez, and everything will go easier on you no one likes those freaks anyway "

"WE'RE NOT FREAKS!!" his voice shouted out a bit raspy, sweat began to beed his brow, the sounds of metal falling to the ground was heard, and hands lifted from under the table their form nothing more than Molten " Your cuffs broke... "

A knock at the door came, and the taller suit went to answer, their words were mumbled.. and inaudible turning back he looked to Jose with a grin " Your all over the news freak, everyone knows you did it now, knows how you burnt down the Mansion and killed all those mutie freaks You'll be a hero to the human race! "

those molten hands began to shake at the mans words, how could he prove his innocents.. he hadn't done anything... but now... even his friends wouldn't want him his jaw dropped, but the shock was quickly washed away by anger " Your gonna take me out of here right now.. to the streets.. and then I'm gonna leave.. and your gonna let me.. You've already ruined me... now I'm leaving.. before you have a chance to ruin me any more "

"your staying here you mutie freak! "

"Then I'll show myself out... " One hand held on them both the other pointed towards the wall where the window showed the outside and concentrating harder he began to focus that molten at the walls. he saw them make for the door and shot another blast to hualt them.. they called for back up.. they shouted for help, but as the smallest whoel was made through the wall just large enough to slither through he turned both hands on it lifting from the ground, and that whole widdened with the added focus he flew through it.. only to crash on the ground.. damnit he needed practice.. that molten extenguished as he came to his feet darting off at a dead sprint... there had to be someone left who would believe he was innocent..

Raja and Proteus

Raja and Proteus had slipped away from the others earlier. Proteus had remembered that the Blackbird hangar had several lockers with survival gear and supplies. She asked Raja to come with her, to use his tremendous strength to help carry more, while the others looked for more survivors.

They made their way to the hangar, got the supplies, and returned without incident. Not wanting to attract the attention of anyone, the pair made their way to the sewer entrance, where they waited for the others.

Their wait was not long. Soon after their arrival, they heard the entrance being opened. The others had finally caught up with them.

/ooc: This is just to get us caught up with the rest of you. Normal posts will start now from us. Thank you all for your patience.

Sweat beaded his brow as he ran from the station, the voice of cops far behind shouting out "get the mutie " they were on his tail and coming hard, guess burning a whole through the policce station was not such a good idea, but it got him out of there, he could hear the chase begin behind him, dashing through the streets and around corners

"Come on Fernandez what would the X-men do right now?!" he was panting hard ith the effort of running form the group of cops, darting down one alley only to find it a dead end

" No Shit No!!! " they were alreadylinging the exit to the alley way... he croutched back in a stance as they began towards him

"come on Fernandez think.. how are you gonna get yourself out of this one " his gaze shifted, looking to the manwhole to the sewers, and then lifted to look at the roof tops, either escape was possible, if he could just control his flight...

"Come on fernandez think!" the group was getting closer yet and then came the words from one of the cops

"We got you now you mutant freak"

Razorback leapt down the open manhole first. His head was still ringing from earlier so his senses were a little off. He had misjudged where he should land and ended up falling into the sewer water.

The sewer itself had pieces of robotic equipment in it. He called up to his teammates, "Hey there's a lot of smashed gear down here. I guess the senior X-men did a couple of training exercises down here." Without warning there was a low grunt coming from the other end of the sewer. "I think something is down here, maybe it's some of the other students." Raising his hands to his mouth Razorback yelled, "This is Anthony Cardone, is someone down there?" He heard yet another grunt, it definatly wasn't a fellow student, it was possible whatever made the sound isn't even remotely human.

it was like in one of those Jackie Chan movies... one of those moves you just have to see to believe... he himself could nopt even believe he did it, foot stomped down onto the manwhole cover... sending it up into the air with the force,, and spinning with a kick iut went towards the cops.. granted it didn't make it far enough to do anything but break a few toes... which from the screams he heard as he dropped into the sewers.. was exactly ewhat the cover had done.. landed on someones foot.. Oh well.. he was making his escape once more... he was still breathing heavy as he raced through the sewers.. he had no clue it was were some of the other students were staying.. he just wanted to get away from the bacon. "The other Students... Oh go I hope they dont think I really set fire to the mansion.. they couldn't have had me on the news it wasn't me.. they would know that "

Wouldn't they? the thought raced through his mind.. if there was one thing besides angry cops he did not want to face.. it was the ehated gaze of his fellow classmates... ahving them think he had killed everyone.. had burnt down the only place they had come to know as a real home.. he had to find the others.. if for nothing more than proving his innocents

Jose Fernandez

on his escape through the sewers, he saw a form lying within the filth that coated the floor, in a pool of some liquid substance.. it wasn't until he came closer he noticed who it was.. Static... they had seen each other at the mansion a few times.. never really became friends.. but he knew who he was... he bent down to check his pulse.. thankful to find himstill alive.. and lifitng him up into his arms as if craddling him.. he continued down the sewers... it would leave him vunerable.. but to many friends had already died in the fire at the mansion.. if there was something he could do to save this one.. he would do it... but if Static was down here.. where were the others? Surely he wouldn't be down hear alone. " its ok man.. i gotcha.. we'll find the others and get you some help... just hang in there static.. just a little longer.. "

Mallory ( Rain )

Kane removed the manhole cover and hurried Razor and me inside. Razorback was the first in, and as soon as he hit ground he called out to us...

"Hey there's a lot of smashed gear down here. I guess the senior X-men did a couple of training exercises down here ". He yelled.

There was a moment of silence and then his voice was heard again... "This is Anthony Cardone, is someone down there?" .

I jumbed inside the sewer, falling besides Razor and then I head the grunt... I turned to Razor...

" You are still shaken form your encounter with the cops, I think I better go check it out... you and Kane wait here, i´ll be back soon... "

Before Razor could reply I ran off full-speed into the tunnel.

Bastard

I heard them speaking briefly as I started down the ladder, pulling the manhole cover behind me, then I dropped to the ground and heard Rain's footsteps heading off alone.
"What the fuck's goin' on, Anthony?"

Rain lept into the sewer and hit the ground running, disapperaing into the sewer. Bastard yelled down to Anthony, "What the fuck's goin' on Anthony?" "I'm not sure, Rain just ran down the the tunnel, I'm gonna follow her, she may need help." Anthony began to follow Mallory's path down the sewer. The tunnel had turned out to be longer than one would think.

While walking through the muck, Anthony thought of all the creatures he had read about that had taken residence in the sewers: the Morlocks, the Lizard, Abomination, even Mole Man. Anthony kept quiet until he came to a fork in the tunnel, "Mallory which way did you go? Mallory?"

Protea

OOC: Lets see if I can jump in here.

IC: I was concentrating, trying to hold my form even as Raja and I hurried after the others who seemed to be disappearing and all going their own ways. "Oh man, Raja, this is not good," I said as I tried to hold onto the packs in hands that kept trying to change into paws. "If we don't act as a team how are we ever going to make it? Thats why the professor made it an Xman team right?" Something inside me said that an animal would be less likely to get caught than a mutant but I knew that Raja and I had much needed supplies we had taken from the Blackbird just before the hanger collapsed. I was scared and running and my powers, though improving, were difficult to control when my emotions were high.

We got to the entrance of the sewer and I knew that was where some of the others had gone because I had heard some of the others saying something about how stupid going into the sewers was. But it wasn't. Actually someone was thinking. Anywhere on the surface we would be recognizable but here we would be able to move underneath the humans and it lead everywhere in the city.

Looking at Raja, Protea was worried that he might get stuck at the entrance but he managed to get below after dropping the packs they carried down and Protea scooted in afterwards letting her companion pull the sewer lid back. Picking up some of the packs she looked up quickly at the sound of voices.

"Raja," She said in a psuedo whisper,"I think they are that way." Hurrying down the way she heard the voices she tried to concentrate on what she was doing and what her body was trying to do. Coming up behind two people who she realized were classmates she touched one of them on the shoulder. She thought his name was Anthony but wasn't sure. She was about to ask him how many had gotten out when he turned and looked past her, his eyes wide as if some evil thing from the sewers was about to attack him.

Looking over her shoulder she saw nothing but Raja coming out of the shadows. She was puzzled at first and then shook her head,"It's just Raja," She said to him,"Where are the others and who...who survived?"

Lightwave watched as Spiderman swung away through the city. He hadn't expected something so...
So what? How was Spiderman supposed to do something about those already dead? Lightwave had expected some kind of heroic help from a hero with years of experience, but instead he had been offered to tag along on a basic investigation. But really, was that any less than could be done?

Too profound. Lightwave walked out of the building in a daze. He walked through the city streets, in human form, steering clear of all human interaction. He felt... nothing. Maybe a bit of anger but otherwise, nothing.

He passed a gang of toughs stealing money from a severely beaten teenager. He kept walking. He was well and truly in the red light district now. He kept walking. Amazing. This place was unfamiliar, yet he felt at home. Everyone here had their own problems and didn't give a fuck about anyone else.

That felt right.

He eventually walked passed a door. "GYM" said the sign on the door. "Open till late." Lightwave walked inside, where an older looking man, maybe forty, glanced at him from behind a desk surrounded by steel mesh. Kinda dark in here, but at least it's secluded.

"Um, you don't have any, uh, mutants in here, do you?" Lightwave asked. The man looked up and answered gruffly "You got a problem with mutants?"

Andrew walked through the streets, trying to figure out just what had happened. He had been heading towards the Xavier mansion to see if he could start his training but the next thing he knew there had been a large explosion and he found himself here, wandering somewhere in the city of New York; trying to find some way back to the mansion.

He raised his hand and was surprised when a cab showed up almost instantly. He hoped in the back and said, "Charles Xavier's mansion please."

The cab driver looked back at him with a smile and said, "I hope you're not a damn mutant because if so get out now. But if you just want to go and dance around the wreckage of that damn place then I can take you there."

Andrew was in a state of shock- the mansion had been destroyed. How, when, why did it happen?

He cleared his throat, "Um no. I'm not a mutant. I just want to look at the mansion and maybe pick up a trophy."

The cab driver laughed before he pushed his foot down on the accelerator and roared off towards the mansion.

As soon as they entered the grounds of the mansion Andrew's eyes widened and the first thought that came to his head was What am I going to do now. Who survived that.... did anyone survive that?

He paid the cab driver the fare before he walked towards the wreckage of the building. He saw that there was nobody around, no cops or firefighters and thought that was strange but then he realized. The humans would have loved to have seen this place burnt to the ground.

He walked slowly towards the main entrance but stopped suddenly when he saw something laying on the ground. It was the scorched uniform of an X-Man and it looked as if it had been stood on and worse. He let out a shout as his blades appeared from his forearms. He wanted to find who had done this and why but he also had to find out if anyone had survived and if so where they were.

Mallory ( Rain )

As I ran into the tunnel I heard footsteps. Two pairs, one was heavy and loud, the other more delicate but still making enough noise... I look around and hide in a side tunnel, waiting for whomever is making the noise to pass by... and soon they do.

They are two students from the Mansion... Raja and Protea, I thought they were dead... maybe I should wait to see what they are up to... or if they are just looking for other survivors...

After they pass in front of me without the slightest idea I was watching the I start following them from a safe distance... they are walking towards Razor and Kane.

Raja and Protea get to the others, Razor was taken by surprise mainly by Raja.

"It's just Raja, Where are the others and who...who survived?" were Proteas words.

At that moment I walk towards them... " Not many survived, mainly students, a lot of them took diferent roads... are you alright ? ".

Anthony's head started to pound even harder than before, he staggered to the ground, "Hey guys, glad to see your alright. If you'll excuse me I need to take a seat." Anthony leaned against some robotic debris on the ground, leaning against the wall of the sewer.

At the top floor of the Computer Science wing, Spiderman always left one window unlocked. He used the computers in her from time to time to help with certain investiagations that his own couldn't help with.
As he dropped down, Spiderman noticed that one of the janitors hadn't quite finished, and was still cleaning part of the far side. Being as quite as he could, he found a far away computer and began booting it up.
Once the janitor had left and locked the room, Spiderman replaced the old C-Drive with the one from Xavier's room. After checking it for errors, he finally got into the main program.
"Well, doesn't look like much out of the ordinary," A small journal, mostly about how well or poorly students were doing, after leafing through that, he realized there was nothing.
Oh, an address book. Xavier had a few meeting earlier in the day, and some scheduled for tomorrow as well.
Perhaps one of these people?
Shrugging his shoulders, Spiderman continued his search. There was nothing that jumped out at him as someone being guilty. No threats from any recent enemies or ex-X-men. Absolutely nothing.
Well, that was a wonderful waste of time.
Sighing, he clicked on the last few icons on the screen.
"Well, hello, what's this...."

Protea

Protea jumped and whirled around, dropping the bags she was carrying as she began to shapeshift automatically. Concentrating she stopped the transformation and forced herself to calm down and go back to her normal shape.

Blushing about losing control of her ability she said,"Yeah, as alright as we can be I guess. Here," She said handing bags around to the others,"Raja and I managed to get some supplies from the Blackbird before that collapsed. It's not much. Mainly rations and first aide stuff but it might help us survive a bit longer than we normally would."

Sinking down to sit by Razor she put her head on her knees with a sigh. "What the hell happened up there? Who did this and why? I...I just can't believe it. One day your scheduling a field trip and the next...." She let her voice die off as she felt the hoplessness of the situation come to her. Lifting her head she said,"Now what? Anyone have any ideas?"

Raja

Raja looked around, his weak eyes making out only with difficulty the shapes of his fellow students. His nose, however, was readily able to recognize their scents... along with the stench of the sewer. "Surely we aren't all that's left of the Professor's dream? Are we?" Shaking with the strain of holding back his anger, the elephantine mutant growled, "Someone did this to us... someone will PAY!"
