Xavier Institute For Higher Learning

Bryn

A woman with silvery hair answered the door- must be the woman named Storm I'd read about.

"Hi, I'm Brynhild, call me Bryn for short and I was told to report to the headmistress or master here," I said, striving for cheery confidence. Pretty sure I managed it too.

Tai chose to explore the mansion, the borrowed sensors scanning everything he saw. He saw more mutants that he knew existed, and for some reason he almost felt at home there, even though he wasn't a mutant. On his way around the place, he saw a man with a mechanical arm, eye, and leg. His sensors didn't register him from any records, which puzzled him, but he decided to find out later. He continued walking, and saw numerous kids with various powers, some practicing theirs. He saw Havok, who he recognized from the news, and Multiple Man, also recognized from the news. Then he saw Storm, who was nearby, at the door. His scanners flickered slightly at her presence, almost as if they were having trouble reading her.

Storm

Storm introduced herself to the girl and asked her to come in. She decided that she would look through Xavier's papers later so that she could catch up on what he had been planning and be forewarned about new students. Storm was starting to feel like the doorman and was wishing she could trade powers with Jamie so that she could handle everything.

"If you will excuse me Havok and Jamie, I have a new student to get settled. Havok, I need to talk to you later about new arrivals. Bryn if you could please follow me. Do you know if you have been set up in any classes yet?"

Storm started to walk towards the stairs and noticed one of the new arrivals looking at her. She gave him a smile and asked if everything was ok.

Surge

Nori looked at him wondering if she had overstepped a boundary and punched him when he started laughing at her.

"Be happy you have your own space. My roommate drives me crazy."

She got up off of the bed and started looking at the instruments around the room.

She laughed at him about Jean giving him a headache and said,

"Was that the inspiration for the room Forge is helping you with?"

::He looked at her and almost asked if she would like to share his room, but such a move might be a bit too vbold he told himself. That and he didn't know how the teachers would take to such a request, so he stopped himself.::

Oh, um... no the idea for that came after I read a thing about sound waves in one of the science books. I had an idea about using my metal skin to reverberate the soundwaves and make music. I brought the idea to Forge and he told me to sketch what I thought it should look like...

::Thad then walked over to his desk and turned on his laptop. After clicking a few things with the built in mouse, He turned the laptop so that Nori could see what he had designed. The apporatus was a larger version of the new dnace machines the kids were playing in the arcade and had four sets of three recievers that were on a verticle bar. Lights and a disco ball finished the design.::

I get in the middle and change my body to one type of metal, then sound waves are sent into the chamber and depending on what metal my skin is and how I move it will produce a sound. The more I dance and the more I change to different metals and I should have a song with a unique sound. The lights will make it look like a rave.

::He looked at Nori and watched as she studied his design. He nervously waited to see what she though about it. She was the first person he showed other than Forge, well and his other friend.::

Bryn

"Not yet, ma'am," I said, following Storm, folding my wings in. An act of will let them sink back into my flesh, the only sign of thier presence a few black feathers and the twin openings in the back of my jacket and shirt. Few things make clothing shopping harder then having to worry about wings.

Through the institute we walked, me looking around to take it all in with a hopeful little grin. "I just finished high school in Europe so was hoping for a few collage level classes. Maybe a few on American history or how to patch people up. Oh! And a lesson period with a swordsmaster would be nifty too. Or other martial arts- I like learning new kinds."

She looked at the laptop and was impressed with the designs. She said,

"Groovy. You should show it to me sometime. That is so awesome that you are allowed to build something like that here."

Tai blinked, then shrugged. "No, it's just Xeno says you're there, yet not there."

Storm

Storm smiled at the girl. Most students were interested in the martial arts training the school offered. Logan was going to be busy when he got back.

"I'm sure when you are all settled in your room we can work that out."

She smiled at Tai and asked if everything was ok and he said,

"No, its just Xeno says you're there, yet not there."

Storm looked at Tai confused,

"I'm sorry I don't understand."

Tai winced slightly, then shook his head. "Xeno is the android I ended up being merged with. I have access to his scanners, and his personality acts as a sort of audio commentary. I haven't figured out how to shut him off yet."

Storm

"Maybe there is something wrong with your scanners."

Storm motioned for him to follow her and Bryn. They walked up the stairs then she asked,

"How did you end up being merged with an android?"

Tai followed behind, doing his best to recap the events. "Well, I was assisting Chihiro with some tests, when some nutjob came in and shot me from behind. I landed in the chamber that held the android, and before I knew what was happening, my entire body had been converted into technorganic cells."

Storm

Storm walked with Bryn and Tai down the hallway towards the girls dorm. She said hello to a few students and asked Tai,

"Why did you and Chihiro leave?"

Jamie Madrox

One of the great things about a Summers boy was that they refused to lick their wounds in public. As long as there was business to attend to, they focused and functioned like few other people. Resolve must be genetic.

Babbette Vasseuer... Jamie tried to play ignorant, but he'd heard the name before, in fact one of his dupes in Europe had been sending all sorts of her CDs and posters and other crap. At least until recently. Putting two and two together, it was obvious that the packages stopped coming because she'd been exposed.

Now that it looked like he'd be interacting with her, he vowed to actually listen to some of her music.

"Absolutely, boss. Consider me your private...um... private...eye. That's redundant. Anyway, I'll get right on it. You guys change the layout much lately?"

He paused momentarily, eyeing the girl Ororo had just let in and the boy that had joined them on the stairs. He wasn't sure about him, but obviously the winged one was new. He nodded his head in their direction, attention refocused on his old teammate.

"You want I should do a check on her too?" Havok could always add the boy and whoever else he saw fit as well.

Without any further ado, Jamie split in two. One hurried off in the direction of the computer lab. A bit of surfing and a few calls would be all it would take. This was a routine job by now. The other Jamie hefted his luggage and headed up the stairs.

"I'll just find an empty room, if that's alright? I mean, I might as well stay as long as I'm coming in handy. You know, maybe just through this transition period or whatever. It'll be just like old times, buddy." He felt a touch guilty as he spoke loudly over his shoulder to Havok. He was probably getting pretty annoyed, but he was just so much fun to aggrivate. Maybe they'd have a more serious conversation later.

"Oh, Guido and Rahne send their love. Guido actually sent a bearhug too, but it'd be pointless for me to even try to pass it along. My ribs're still killin' me!

He was at the top of the stairs. Pausing only a second, he turned in the direction opposite of the way the other three had just gone.

Storm stopped in front of an empty room. She looked at Tai and said,

"Would you please wait out here for a minute?"

She let Bryn in and said,

"This will be your room for now. With so many new people coming you may get a roommate soon. Make yourself comfortable and feel free to take a look around."

Storm showed Bryn how to page her if she needed any help and left the girl to unpack her things. She walked back outside and started walking with Tai again.

"I should probably know how much trouble to expect if the company finds out that you are here. You can't be protected unless I know what we are up against."

Amanda dropped out of the tree. The excersise had done her some good, and she felt somewhat refreshed at being able to let herself run wild, in a sence. She looked up at the institute that she had been calling home for a while now, and sighed. It was great to have a home that you didn't have to hide what you were, but alot of the students were just so... well... loud

She pulled on her baggy jumper and jeans, before grabbing her bag and books and walking back toward the main doors. She noticed that the guy they called Jamie wasn't standing there anymore, but Havock was, looking the same as ever.

Sheepishly excusing herself, she slipped in through the doors, and immediatly progressed up the stairs at an incredably brisk pace. So brisk, in fact, the she passed Jamie without noticing much, keeping her books close to her chest, and her head down slightly. She just wanted to get back to her room again...

Tai nodded, then closed his eyes, accessing Xeno's memory banks. "Xeno himself is a prototype. But you can expect robot assassins, cyborgs, a wide variety of mecha, possibly even ninjas." He opened his eyes slowly, then looked at her. "I believe I can handle anything they can throw at us, but Chihiro thinks I need to remain hidden."

"She may be right about not fighting them unless you need to. You wouldn't want to show them what you can do because it may further encourage them to get a hold of you. I'm sure we can handle robots."

Storm walked with Tai back to the stairs by the front entry and watched Havok looking out the window. She turned to Tai and said,

"We will have to talk more after I talk with the members of the senior staff. For the meantime feel free to walk around the school but stay inside for now. If you need anything else just ask."

Tai nodded, then bowed slightly, and headed back for his room. He would need sleep soon, so it would be a good idea to lay down.

When Tai left, Ororo looked down at Havok wondering what was bothering him so much. She walked down the stairs to the front entry. It wasn't just because Scott and Jean were in jail, he always seemed to be ill at ease. She wasn't sure if it was because he felt like he was living under Scott's shadow but he acted like he had something to prove.

She walked behind him and looked out the window. The sky was grey and threatening to rain. As she concentrated her eyes turned white and the clouds started to churn. The clouds broke and the sun could be seen for the first time that day.

"Havok?"

Shadowcat

Kitty's turned her car on to the school's property and drove into the garage. She hoped out and climbed the stairs up to her room and dropped her bag off. She opened her closet and started going through her clothing, and sighed as she rumaged through. "God, don't I have anything?" Finally she found a little black dress and black heels near the back of the closet. "I should have found something while I was in town."

She pulled the jeans and purple t-shirt she had on and slipped into the dress and looked at herself in the mirror and did a little turn. "mmm, not bad," she through the runners she had been wearing off and slipped her feet into the heels. She pulled her hair out of the ponytail and shook it out. "Time to go find some fun." She told her reflection.

Kitty left her room and headed towards the stairs and saw Storm heading down them..

Tai got to the room they were letting him use, and laid down on the bed, closing his eyes. Within seconds, he was out cold, though faint glowing lines on his body were visible in the dark, indicating the organic circuitry of the android. Chihiro checked up on him, and finding him sleeping, she returned to her room. She decided to relax for once and watch tv.

----

Cable saw Storm, and raised his one good eyebrow. "Why is that joker here?"

::He turned the laptop off and closed it back up.::

Actually Forge is suppost to help me build it, but he never seems to have much time and I'm a musician not a engineer. Hopefully soon we'll be able to get started though.

::He returned to the bed and sat down beside Nori on the bed looking at her as she relaxed all stretched out. His hand brushed his hair from his face and he smiled.::

So what do you do for fun when you are not in class or just hanging around?

::His eyes looked into her face as he waited to hear what she did. Suddenly a thought hit him and he jumped up and grabbed a ratty looking notebook. He rummaged around on his desk until he found a pen, then jotted his thoughts down in the book. When he finished he looked up at her and suddenly felt really embarrassed.::

Sorry about that I just had a good though and needed to jot it down before I forgot it.

Havok

Watching Jaime walk up the stairs Havok felt powerless. Cyclops had Professor Xavier, Jean Grey, Hank McCoy and Wolverine to rely on.

He's got a guy who more often than not calls himself a dupe.

"Dope is more like it." Havok thinks. Still, Madrox would be needed if they were going to rebound from their recent losses.

"Havok?"

Alex turned around to meet Storm.

"Ororo. I wanted to meet you in the War Room to look over the guests. There is something we have to discuss."

He looks at Shadowcat approahing down the stairs.

"Kitty. I have a job for you too. I need you to find out about this android who showed up on our doorstep. You're our computer wiz, find out what company he was a part of and who finances them. Most importantly find out what it is they were trying to make. Kitty, do this fast. None of us can sleep until we know everything there is about our new arrivals. Kitty? Be thorough in your research of the android. I want to know exactly what we may have here. And don't take too long. You're training today with me."

Havok turned to walk toward the elvator that would lead to the War Room.
