"I'm afraid this little ditty is of a personal nature. Young lady, this's Jamie Madrox. I think I'm expected, and I'm sure someone there's familiar with the name. If you wouldn't mind checking on that for me, I'd be ever so greatful."

Nori pushed the intercom button and said,

"Sure, if you can wait a minute."

Nori stepped outside the door and called to Storm,

"A Jamie Madrox is at the gate. Should I let him in."

She watched as Storm gave a wave that looked like a yes and she turned to Thad and said,

"Should we make him sing a song before we let him in?"

::He listened to Nori go on about Wizard and noded. He had heard all of the rumors about him in Germany. he could only guess which rumors were true or not. He then heard the name Jamie Madrox come over the intercom and reached over and hit the button to open the gates.::

I know that name, he's an Xman...well I guess he was...I believe they called him Multiple Man.... Ya know you put music on to relaxe and everyone thinks youre nieve...We can see if he'll sing it when he comes to the door.

::The jolt went through him and made him jump slightly, he laughed and rubbed the arm the jolt stopped in.::

That wasn't fair. I didn't have my powers activated to do anything with that jolt.

::He wouldn't have been able to use his power anyway, he had left his armbands in his room and there was no metal around them except the doorknob to touch.::

"There's got to be better ways to relax."

Nori winked at him, laughed at the look on Thad's face and walked at the door to see who would show up.

I can think of a few, but music is the safest and the easiest to get ahold of without a girlfriend to help.

::He smiled at her and waited with her to see who would be coming to the door. Suddenly he got a thought and decided walk over to a candlestick made of silver and touched it. Slowly his body started to grow a bit ridged as the silver spread from his fingertips down his arm, then across his body until finally he was silver from head to toe. Having given himself a protective shell, he returned and waited by the door.::

What?! We don't know if it is really him or not. We could be getting set up.

Nori laughed at the girlfriend comment and turned back around and watched as Thad's skin started turning silver. She looked at him confused.

"What?! We don't know if it is really him or not. We could be getting set up."

Nori grinned and said,

"That's why we should have made him sing. Didn't you know evil doers can't hold a tune."

Nori decided that they should be alright with Storm right there but Storm walked past and asked them if they could meet Jamie because she was going to show the guest to her room. Nori watched Storm and the woman in the tattered clothing walk away and got nervous.

::He nodded to Storm as she walked by and asked if they could meet Jamie Madrox, he then noticed the look of nerviousness appear on Nori's face.::

Dont worry, I doubt there would be many poeple who would come to the mansion and start something when they know that the Xmen are here. I wonder where we are to tell him to go? Well I guess if Havoc called a metting in the War room and he hasn't come up since maybe we should send him there?

::He looked at Nori searching her for some answer, then he looked her up and down and got another thought. He suddenly was happy that he was silver at the moment cause he would be blushing.::

She similed that he was trying to reassure her and said,

"We should send him to Havok if he is a jerk. I think Havok should be avoided until he calms down. Though Wizard leaving should be good news to him."

Nori looked at Thad and got curious. She reached out and touched his arm. His skin, even though it was now made of silver, was still surprisingly warm. She looked up at him and said,

"Cool."

Babette nodded and closed her eyes, a few moments later she looked much calmer, "Oh you will let us in, merci tellement! I am so happy to be safe now."

The twins would follow Storm to wherever she might lead them.

::He smiled as she touched his arm and again was glad he was silver at the moment or else he would have been blushing again as he almost told her that his whole body got as hard as the metal he touched. He cleared his throat and started to think of dead puppies -Cruel Intentions 2- to keep himself in check::

I have to do a session in the Danger Room within the next two days or my arse is toast if Wolverine finds out. I was going to do it today. Um...afterwards would you like to come listen to music with me? Maybe if Forge isnt busy I can show you the chamber we are working on for my music...

Amanda had been sitting up in her room, reading a book on modern medical practices. She couldn't help wandering if there was some way that her mutation could be reversed, but always tried to shake the thaught from her head, remembering how content she was here.

Glancing over at the clock, she realised that she was supposed to be in the Danger Room in 20 minutes. She'd managed to get a regular time-slot allocation a while ago in order to let herself just how far her acrobatic skills went, and just carried on going every week afterward.

Putting her book down, she grabbed her sportswear bag, put on her favourite baseball cap, and left her room, making her way downstairs

"Um...afterwards would you like to come listen to music with me? Maybe if Forge isnt busy I can show you the chamber we are working on for my music..."

Nori tried to look down the driveway to see if anyone was there yet and looked back at Thad and said,

"That sounds fun; I'm game."

Storm showed the twins to their room and found some extra clothes for them and told them where they could find the kitchen and to help themselves. Before she left she showed them how to page her if they had any problems.

Storm then headed back downstairs to meet Jamie.

There was a touch of relief as the gates swung open. At the same time, that might've simply meant no one was in the mood to horse around. He might have to sober up his act a bit quicker than he thought. So be it... the kid on the other end if the intercom seemed pleasant, though.

The drive past the gates was longer than he remembered. Perhaps it was simply anticipation. He'd been doing his best to help people, but it just wasn't the same as being an X-Man. Lately, he'd been dealing with more adulterous, six-armed or superspeed husbands than anything truly rewarding. There weren't too many truly rewarding cases to be had in his line of business.

Pulling up alongside the door, he hopped out of the car even as a duplicate appeared in the driver's seat. He pulled a weathered military sack from the back seat and threw it over his shoulder. If he'd been smart, he would've worn a raincoat. Instead he had on his usual attire, slim black jeans and a snug green shirt that showed off a lean body. His traditional symbol, a yellow stripe down his frontside with several orbs sprouting from either side, ran down the front. And all of it was getting soaked as he took his time talking to his dupe.

"Would you mind taking it to the garage, champ? This rain's going to ruin what's left of the interior."

The Jamie in the driver's seat gave a crisp salute and drove off.

Stepping up to the door, the original Madrox gave it a quick rap. Shifting his weight a bit, he cleared his throat as he waited. Damn damp air.

Tai sighed, then headed to a computer terminal, directly interfacing with the internet and setting up relay points while he hacked into the computers of several government agencies and corporations and such. Once he had gathered enough dirt on them, he sent it to the people holding Xavier, with one message. "Free the Xmen or your reputations are forfeit." He didn't think they'd take to kindly to it, but maybe the dirt he dug up would give them some incentive to arrest other people and let the senior staff go. He had used multiple relay points to make certain no one could track him, even though he left no trace of his accessing the files.

::Thad smiled hearing Nori take his offer of hanging out later, then he looked at the door hearing someone knock on it. He reached over and took hold of the handle opening the door to greet their guest. The door swung open and there stood the man that they had been talking to on the intercom.::

Hello, come on in, Storm should be with you in a second...Oh and Nori wants to hear you sing that diddy...

::Suddenly the silver that covered him started to fade and dissipate. He looked at his hand and noticed the transformation of him returning to normal and sighed~

I have to learn to control that sometime soon or I'll never be able to join a team.

::He looked at Nori and shrugged, then looked back a Jamie.::

Storm walked down the stairs as Nori said, "Or any other song will be good. I think you could do a killer I'm a little teapot."

Storm thanked the students for helping and when they ran off she turned to Jamie and said,

"Hello Jamie, it's good to see you. I heard you were setting up an office in town."

 

[Screech]

Amanda had made it downstairs and was passing by the front door. There were a couple of others there, Thad and Nori, she recalled. Interesting pair. Seemed like they were always hanging off oneanother. They were chatting about something that Amanda chose not to overhear.

Sh was about to make her way as quietly past them as she could when the door opened and another man stood there. She didn't recognise the face, or the costume, but she had to admit that he was kinda cute.

In fact, she didn't realise that she had stopped dead in her tracks and was staring right at him out of the corner of her eye!

::He laughed hearing Nori mention "Im a little teapot" then watched as Storm returned to meet with Jamie. He felt a tug of his arm and saw that Nori ws pulling him away.::

I wanted to see if he was going to sing. I bet he could do a good Itsy-bitsy Spider too...

::He was pulled down the corrador, though followed would be more like it, and they passed Amanda. She was someting of a bookworm and always was hidden in ther room away from the others. Finally Nori stopped outside one of the smaller kitchens.::

What you didn't want to be nosey and see what He was here for?

Once Babette was left alone in the room she collapsed on the bed and simply laid there for a little while.

Come Babette, I know we are tired but we are amongst people again. We cannot rest just yet.

Babette found the nearest full bathroom and took a long shower, her brother whispering to her all the while.

Now that we are revealed you too must learn to focus our gift of flesh. Now look within the mirror, and concentrate!

She closed her eyes and emptied her mind then she began to conjure the memories of her music, the glamour she had posessed, the awe she had inspired. Her features began to take on the aspect of that carefully prepared beauty, the twins shape shifting ability manifesting to lend color to her face and nails, arranging her hair. Then it all faded, her hair fell down and she looked tired and bruised once more.

There, there. You will do it in time, just let me take care of it for now.

Mallory took over the effort, and repeated Bab's style. She smiled faintly into the mirror once he was done and went back to her room to get some clothes on. She was presentable within a few minutes, and so she started looking around.

As Nori pulled Thad away she noticed Amanda trying to pretend not to be staring at the man at the front door. Nori stopped at one of the kitchens and looked back at Amanda.

"What you didn't want to be nosey and see what he was here for?"

She told Thad,

"No, will get him later. He doesn't look like the type to spill his guts. They are just going to do some boring small talk and then go somewhere else to talk shop. You said that you had to go to the Danger room, can I join you?"

Yeah I have to do a session before Wolverine drags me into the room for one of his sessions. I was sore for a week after the last time I had to do one with him.

::His eyes brightened when she mentioned doing the training with him. Though he wasn't so sure if he would be able to focus on the room with her there.::

Um...yeah I dont mind... yes I would love the company.

::He started to head off to the elevators, then stopped and looked at Nori.::

We need to have a Xman to run the room for us. Storm is busy and Gambit and Rogue left. I think Kitty left too. Im not sure where Logan is so that only leaves Havoc....

"This is not my style." Havok thinks as he watches the various parts of the institute from the monitors of the War Room.

"I should be down there. The last time someone knocked on our door we lost a chunck of our team. But I can't always confront everything so directly. Without Xavier or Scott, I'll have to learn to be a bit more indirect." he thinks as he moves over to a computer terminal. He started to access mansion security tapes. He played until he could isolate the part where the newly arrived mutant spoke with Storm.

"My sister's English was never very good, she's practically useless right now. I recognize you from television, you are the rainmaker, Storm? We are Mallory and Babette, mutants like yourself. A stalker tried to kill her several days ago during a telecast, our nature was revealed and since then we have been hunted down by mutant-haters and more than a few of Babette's former fans. They think we are one person and that we have been perpetrating some manner of fraud against them."

"'Mallory and Babette' huh. No last name given." Havok begin to search Xavier's extensive computer files on mutants.

"Wait a minute she said something else." He replayed the exchange again.

"Fans? Hmmm." he began to cycle through the names.

"I can't find them there. But she said there was a telecast."

Havok paused for a moment and got an idea. He began typing on the computer quickly.

"Google: Babette and Mallory telecast mutant ENTER" in a moment a dozen links came up.

He began reading the summaries.

"Wow, on television. Well, if she's a pop star that will make her visible to research and verify. God, I don't want to have to" suddenly a intercom message interrupted his speech.

"A Jamie Madrox is at the gate. Should I let him in"


"God no!" Havok said and put his head in his hands. Without speaking he raised his head. Jaime was a certified pain in his ass during their time together in X-Factor. But Havok was still licking his wounds from being confronted by Gambit earlier.

He realizes here he is an outsider. He wonders if the X-Men would have ever accepted him if he were not Cyclops' brother? He remembers how it felt to have Storm, Rogue and Gambit in the room. They were all X-Men and had fought together for years. Jaime was a pain, but right now Havok would gladly put up with that to have someone around who he had fought beside.

"Besides, he's a PI now. He can do the background check on our new guest."

Havok rose up and left the War Room. He stepped onto the elevator and began to go to meet the Multiple Man.

Nori forgot that you needed an X-man to go into the danger room.

"Maybe Havok will go for it, I'm sure he has some issues that need working out. Can't hurt to ask?"

Nori saw that the elevator was coming up from the level that the war room was on and said, "Well, speak of the devil."

Cable had just come out of the Danger Room, where he had been testing his abilities. He had started to redevelop his mutant powers ever since trying to cure Wizard. No, that wasn't right, he decided. It was ever since bodysliding the kid and the mercenary out of a crashing plane. Something about the bodyslide had changed him. He still had his cybernetics, and his computer had started accessing local computers for information, since he was effectively cut off from his time period. Besides, he figured, it would be good to help out the Xmen again. It might give him some measure of humanity back.

 

[Jeremy Davis]

::Thad heard the elevator *ding* and watched the doors open. He then looked at Nori and wondered if she was a psychicv also.::

Wow wasn't that funny...Um Mr. Summers..Im due for a Trip to the Danger Room but i need a Xman to run the computers for me...do you think....

::Thad watched as Havoc walked right by him and headed to meet up with Storm and the new guy.::

you could ignore me and walk on down the hall....

::With a frown, Thad looked at Nori and shrugged.::

Maybe we should just goto my room and listen to music? Doesn't seem like we will be getting into the Danger Room, until things calm down around here.
