You know what I want to know? The biggest secret on the AH.

I'm new here, but this is hardly my first rodeo with forum culture. My experience is that every forum has some mods there that maybe shouldn't be, that most mods are fair, and that forum moderation is actually really hard. The best solution is closed forums that require vouched invitations to join, but that's very much not what Literotica as a whole is about.

'Sup Mel?

I have much respect for anyone who would take on modding one of these forums. I assume that they are on Lit for other reasons than just those duties, as writers or readers, and it's asking a lot that they take the time to parse the nuances of heated debates. And I don't know what kind of guidelines they been given on how to handle disputes that get out of hand. But, in my opinion, in most cases, more harm is done by cutting off discussion and leaving matters unresolved, than by letting people duke it out.

Of course, there need to be limits, but when a thread gets locked, as we see in this case, is that many people who have not done anything objectionable feel that they have been unfairly stifled.

I never get invited to shit! :(

The moderator should always remain anonymous.
How else can they maintain an air of neutrality?
if we all knew who it was, we would swamp them with shit every time we saw something we don't like...

But , who knows, that might be their kink.

What I've seen more often (my different time zone can reveal much of what goes on) is a selective grooming of posts, they simply disappear. This might be done by the poster themselves, thinking, oops, maybe that was uncalled for; or more likely the AH Mod has parsed some of the content. Whether their action is accompanied by a PM behind the scenes, no idea.

Sometimes though, a thread becomes like a forest fire, and I'm not surprised when the Mod says, fuck this, I've had enough.

Also, Laurel can wander through or be called in, and she can act too.

Most of us aren't.

Only two are, AH_Mod and Ampic_Moderator.

Mom used to have that look when she’d turn around from the front passenger seat:

“I don’t care who started it! It all ends now!”

AH, but who watches the watchmen...?

It is impossible to say who started what...
Who threw the first punch, or the first jibe that led to the punch???
Easier to shut down the whole thing and lay no blame... IMO....

Madame, Guillotine perhaps???
There's a hell of an image for a very silly story.

It's been a bad date. The restaurant's nice and the wine divine, but the company... The guy's practically humping your leg. The waiter -- the kind who wears white gloves and a tailcoat tuxedo, and he's got a little moustache like Errol Flynn; it was probably issued to him when he signed on -- approaches the table with a serving tray. His accent is as thick as hollandaise and as French as béarnaise.

"Madame, guillotine, perhaps?"

He lifts the lid of his serving tray, revealing a tiny guillotine.

Ah, straight out of Allo Allo...
Woulld you like fries with that?

But we still don't know the answer to the pressing question.

I believe it's a boardie incognito

I thought it was TxRad, but obviously not.

Actually it's easy. It's all documented and time stamped in perfect chronological order - provided of course that a staff member doesn't delete anything - and also provided that one is capable of reading without personal bias.

I think it's more about remaining unbiased and neutral.
Who said what first... Was there hidden meaning... Was something misconstrued...
Yeah, like @AlexBailey said earlier.
"I don't care who started it. It ends here."

Saves a lot of back and forth for the Mod... Who's job I would hate...

Just my thoughts.
