Laurel, a very large bouquet for all your efforts. I image this site would not be as well used if your time, talent and patience had not been in it.
We, Canadians are usually very thoughtful before putting pen to paper or speak out but I agree with the comment "if you are not part of the solution you are the problem." If the complainers have no constructive solution may they move on and out of here.

Laurel and Manu do an excellent job running this site. Personally, I don't see how they manage so well and still have day jobs. I'm sure they barely have time for much else, during a day, which may include, posting the morning's profits to a Swiss Bank account, reading gargantuan amounts of submitted stories and preparing themselves for the grinding task of dealing with mass adulation and the lunatic fringe...if there's a difference.
I don't like every story on this site. I don't like every person that posts to this board, actually. But there is a place for all, regardless of my personal preferences.
I do, however, understand some of Whispersecret's (and others) point, but what can Laurel and Manu be expected to do? I like to decide for myself what stories are crap. It's a case of whatever blows one's hair back.

Well, at the risk of being the bastard child at the Royal Ball, I have a couple of thoughts. They're in a lonely place, so be kind.
First: It is my opinion that publishing a story is an earned privilege, not a right. Just because you were able to write up last night's cyber session with your boyfriend/girlfriend or Zeke, doesn't mean it is deathless prose to be shared with the world immediately.
Read the writer's guidelines, make an effort to make the story at least spelled correctly and don't expect Laurel to make it all okay. The more time she takes with story one, the longer it takes for story 65 to be posted.
Second: The majority of bitches, moans and complaints (that I've seen) have been regarding story quality, not site quality. This site is incredible and anyone who doesn't think so can discuss it with me at length. While I think there are a number of good stories here, there are also a number of bad ones. If I see one that starts "I take your hand and lead you to the bedroom" I know it's time to move on. That's my choice.
Third: Human beings have a tendency to let the bad overshadow the good. I think Laurel deserves all the praise in the world for what she and Manu have accomplished here. I know how hard it is to create something from nothing. Madam not only LISTENS, she acts on our ideas. She doesn't normally say "my site, my rules." When she does, we should just accept it and shut the fuck up. Decision's made, game over. If you still have a complaint, take it to e-mail.
Fourth: I'm long-winded and opinionated, but I am not afraid to be proven wrong. You want to tell me that(what I consider to be) a bad story got you off, I'll wish you Happy Orgasm. You try to convince me that (what I consider to be)a bad story is a good one, bring lunch and dinner, because we're gonna be talking for a while. It doesn't matter if it's free or pay, I prefer stories that are more than wanking material.
Before anyone tells me to write my own, let me pass on that I've been published professionally more than 1,000 times in a variety of genres, including erotica/porn. Laurel knows my reasons for not currently writing here and she has no problem with it.

You know, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and sometimes they stick. Still, the point is everyone is entitled to their own opinion! (Even if it happens to be different than yours!) I've been writing since I was a child (and have had several things published locally). Writing is a gift, just like painting, singing, (good) acting, etc. Not everybody shares the same gift. I don't see why several of you attack Whisper just because she doesn't like some of the stories. I too agree that some of the stories take longer to load than they do to read. That doesn't mean I am personally attacking Laurel, 'cause I'm NOT! So, everyone, get over it and let's move on!! Geeze!
Wordmage, well said! I do not profess to have the ability of most authors on this site. Some of the others I may be able to better, but until I've actually tried, I have NO right to criticise.
As for criticising the site itself, the same holds true. How many of us, truthfully, could do a job anywhere near as good as Laurel is doing? Laurel, keep up the excellent work, PLEASE, and know that 99% of us appreciate everything you're doing!

Wow...So nice to see that so many share such a strong opinion on the same topic. I totally agree, we are so fortunate to have this site to not only log on to read some very good stories, but if you dare, try and have your own posted here. I know that I have read a few that were not as great as the writer could have made them, but the fact that they put the effort forth to write something that they hoped would entertain, should be more appreciated.
Having written a few and even being so proud to see one of them posted on the site, I can tell you it is not as easy as one might think to appeal to the masses. I enjoy creating the images that I hope turn you on reading as much as they turn me on writing them.
The best suggestion to those who do not like what they see here. LOG OFF
You can always take a chance and pay for enterance to an Adult site that you have to post a credit card number just to realize to late that the stories are not any better than they are here.
Everyone has a preference to something different. So find what you like and enjoy.

I have some 17 stories here and enjoy writing. There are a hell of a lot of good writers here. As has been said it's FREE too.

Authors, you do your readers a disservice to only put a "teaser" in. It wastes their time and is fruistrating to them. Give them a succulent story that has some "meat" in it! The ones that I feel are a teaser I either give no vote to them or vote "Lousy".
