Young Justice: Outsiders (OOC)

Yeah, but they weren't blending in with the party guests -- they marched in in what seems to be full uniform and gear. They marched right into the capitol of the United States and no one saw them until they arrived at the ball room? The only logical conclusion is that they came through a Zeta-Tube or some portal.

I was surprised Black Manta murdered a public official in the center of a room filled with the greatest superheroes on the planet. But I figured that was a pre-arraigned plot point to coincide with that clue Jeff dropped about the Dent/Luthor ticket.

Actually, it wasn't, lol. All Nubian and I discussed was that Manta would aid in Psimon's attack. Everything else was all him.

Oh wow. The name of the hotel has changed twice already, haha. I originally wrote it as Emerald Gardens Resort, then Nubian changed it to Emerald Gardens Embassy, then Gypsy changed it to Emerald Greens Embassy, LOL.

I think the Greens was an autocorrect. Anyway, it's fixed. I was going to try for Emerald Fetch Resort, but I was told not to try to make Fetch happen, that is was never going to happen.

It's an easy enough goof, and hell my computer has autocorrect. PRetty sure it's linked somehow to Microsoft Word and if I'm in a hurry it will make all sorts of quasi interesting corrections. And I'm not always checking when it comes to posts on Lit. I try but meh I'm not always awesome at it.

Anyway we're entirely boxed in aren't we?

Kudos Nubian! Killing Luthor's political rival and making it look like a paid job. That was a nice touch.

And we're not boxed in. Scar is on the outside, about to punch a hole through the main offense line.

Using the Julia Roberts' Pretty Woman model (the loaner necklace that she wears to the opera), I figure Dazzle got about a million to two million worth of shinies. Assuming her fence gives her 30% of value, she made somewhere between three to six hundred thousand dollars tonight before making a clean escape. Cha-Ching!

Oh Scar=Scarlet. Derp derp.

That would still have us kinda sorta boxed in for the moment. Ben was herding them out of the lobby (where the battle actually started) and through the Ballroom since it presumably had additional exits and then Manta shows and I assume blocked that exist.

Granted Scar might punch a hole but Ben's not going to leave the civillains behind unless there is absolutely no other other option. Like it's not a them or him it's everybody, or everybody minus Ben. Even then there's a good chance he'd go down swinging. Just the sort of do gooder he is.

For the record you guys feel free to use an Echo Echo or two. Ben is always fairly open to suggestion and even more so in this form since they are genetically inclined towards team work. They aren't particularly tough though. Think about it as if you had a bunch of 1st Graders who were capable of Black Canary's Canary Cry and you'd be pretty much spot on for their abilities. They suck terribly in hand to hand, even against a standard human we're pretty much talking about beating them down with sheer numbers. The cry is mid powered, not on the high end like Canary but made up for again with sheer numbers and the coordination that comes from everybody being the same person up to a few seconds ago. And obviously the drawback of if the original misunderstood the scenario they will all have the same misconception.

They are not by the way telepathically linked or anything neat like that. They occasionally seem that way though.

Well, the battle was mostly in the ball room. Nightwing was standing in the doorway looking out towards the lobby, saw Superboy standing there, flung a wingblade, and then Superboy lunged at him and sent him flying into a crowd of people in the ball room -- I never said Nightwing actually walked out to the lobby :p.

Which other than a bit of confusion in my post(s) doesn't change the, lets get civilians to safety, oh crap that's not working is it?

Honestly, it's kind of up in the air at the moment how this scene is going to play out. Nubian and I are discussing things via PM, but it looks like Manta's motives do not match with Psimon's, so we may have a three-way battle on our hands in the ball room, lol.

When I suggested Manta could join in Psimon's attack on the party, I did not expect him to march in with a fucking army and essentially bring the fight to a halt, lol. But it done, its in the IC, so we will roll with it. I'm just not sure how to respond to it as Psimon. That's why I want to work out background details with Nubian first.

It's at a moment like this that the orchestra should be playing "Why can't we be friends?"

We are friends. I don't think anyone is mad at anyone else. Looks like Jeff and Nubian are hammering out a few minor details while Sean and I are playing peanut gallery.

Nubian put up a good post with some interesting innovation. However, he's also attacked the Justice League, their allies, and their sidekicks. I'm sure he plans on getting defeated but making a personal retreat.

I was actually making a joke about Psimon and Manta being at cross purposes. <taps microphone> "is this thing on?"

Anyway, I think I'll spend the rest of the day alphabetizing my Bat Mite memorabilia collection

I didn't know Psimon even had a distinct motive at this point and given how YJ played out it seemed that the most likely goal here was simply to see how the heroes reacted to the scenario or even more likely making sure that the heavy hitters were locked down while something else important happened elsewhere. Of course if we are retreating to a secondary Batcave that would heavily imply the heroes fail so the attack may be just to make sure all the major players are present when they dump in operation "Doomsday" and incapacitate everybody with us getting away primarily because with the aside of Ben (who ultimately is difficult to hold for an extended period but I wouldn't be opposed to him getting captured if it moves things along.) and Nightwing (depending on how publicly known it is that he's actually the former Robin. In some of the comics/shows it's known but it seems that's really more a convenience for anybody in the audience who didn't know. A great example being Batman: Under the Redhood. Which may as well have just paused and given his bio) nobody is going to stop for Star, the Scarlet Scarab, Batgirl (From her post she's clearly new and unknown by and large).

Glad I didn't bring any of my villains to the party at this point though. Though I think when I do Albedo, Kevin and Charmcaster are the obvious must hits parade.

I thought Kevin was reformed and a good guy. Dating Gwen and stuff. I must have missed a lot of stuff.

Nope, I'm simply choosing to ignore that at least for the time being. I always forget that you're familiar with the franchise. That's one of the things I also like about Ben, since most people (at least old enough to be on Lit) aren't familiar with the franchise I can paint with extremely broad strokes.

Technically by this point Charmcaster is mostly reformed as well. Sure she's an amoral bitch but after the end of Alien Force she never really directly confronts Ben again. She doesn't mind if he ends up as collateral, even occasionally going a tad out of the way to make him and Gwen collateral but she's just as likely to team up with them.

Since I know such buildings have several rooms to them, I did not have Gar react to Manta's men due to either still being slightly before they arrive or that they have not yet entered the space he's in.

Hope that's not confusing anyone.

I'm still working on mine. Was kind of giddy seeing them give him his own title (even if it's just a limited series), He's always been a favorite. Sort of like Batman's version of Mister Mxyzptlk, y'know?

Psimon's motive is to basically harm the League's image by causing as many casualties as possible and creating utter chaos headlined by someone wearing Superman's symbol. But Manta does not agree with slaughtering innocents, so I asked Nubian why Manta was even helping Psimon then. Herding the people together and stabilizing the room really isnt part of Psimon's plan, which means Manta basically disregarded him and took over himself. This is going to infuriate Psimon.
