🌸 AMA ~ Honey 🌸

I'm here! I'm here!

I've been taking advantage of the Thanksgiving school break to tackle the enormous task of weaning my children off of electronics and onto activities that are a better use of their brain cells. They all express their dislike of the situation several times a day and i end the day wanting to cry or throw up or both. C'est la vie.

But the fact that I feel like my mental health has improved enough to willingly take on this project is huge. Huge! Additionally, it's only been two days and we have seven left to go, so I am hopeful and remain determined.

And the sound of my girls playing a game at a clean dining table on a clean dining room floor while singing Christmas carols is a pretty good payoff already. 💜

I'm off to join them, but I'll be around later today to answer your questions. :)

Do you like to go barefoot or always wear shoes?

I wear shoes. At work that means tennies, at home that means my sparkly faux Birkenstocks in the colder months and flip flops when it's warm. I will go barefoot on a really clean floor (preferably hardwood), but with kids in and out all the time, my house doesn't currently qualify.

My kids, on the other hand, are usually barefoot, and I'm really good with that. I purposely never insisted they wear shoes except for going out in public. I didn't want them to have the same foot problems I'd had growing up with wide feet.

Do you have a song, smell, food etc. that always brings back a memory of a very specific, but utterly mundane moment?

If yes, what's the trigger and what's the moment?

I'm going to ask everybody this question, because among my friends I'm the only weirdo to have lots of mundane connections like that and everybody else only seems have these triggers for meaningful things. I refuse to believe I'm the only one.

I'll have to think about this one. 🤔

I miss you here. Where are you?

Buying cat food, paying the wifi bill, having teacher conferences, making Dr's appointments, dealing with self-harming kids, waxing my lip, looking for a good deal on bunk beds, watching Vikings on Amazon Prime, making roast and veg for supper, playing Clue with the girls, getting a mammogram... :p

When was the last time you used a hula hoop?

August 2019, at the start of the school year.

What are you wearing right now?

Work-around-the-house wear. Workout pants, tank top, tee, zip up sweatshirt, socks, fake Birkies. No makeup, no jewelry, no bra. I'm off to bed so very soon it's going to be nothing, but don't get excited, I had onions with dinner and my breath is pretty bad.

(That was last night. I'm still in bed for the moment, so all I'm wearing are blankets and reading glasses.)

Who is your favourite person of all time?

You can't say it's me. That's too cheesy and I'll judge you.

Alright, you can say it's me. I'll write my acceptance speech in advance.

😂

It's you! Of course it's you! Who else could it be?

Three more of my favorite people are my daughter, my best girlfriend of 20+ years, and my former dance partner.
