Day 23, a song from the ten’s

As a child one of my favorite books I ever read was to hell and back about the most decorated american soldier of world war II. To learn so many years later that an amazing metal band made a song that captures his story in song, well, my love for it is obvious.

Day 20 - A song from the 80s

Maybe it's because it's spooky season, but I find myself thinking a lot of a friend from HS who I was too dense to see wanted to be 'with me'. My teenage years were awkward as all fuck. But she LOVED Oingo Boingo, especially their mid-80s output.

Day 23: A song from the 20s

Welp, not much choice in Bond scores when it comes to the 20s, so here we go.

This song is.... good. Not great. It starts out so very very promising, husky and smoky and understated, but it never kicks off. It's like waiting for a sneeze that never comes. Billie really tries to add a little crescendo at the end, but it's not her strong suit, and instead it just... peters out.

Kinda like Craig's run as Bond. Hey-oh!

Day 23: A song from the 20s

For my last song and my theme's conclusion... what? You didn't know I had a theme? Oh. Well, yes. Yes I did. Each song has to do with a relationship I've had in the past. Ups and downs. Highs and lows... lol. Just kidding. No theme. I wasn't smart enough to come up with one like @vagrantx and @UnquietDreams 😅

Here is a fun little bop.

Von Dutch - Charli XCX (2024)

Beethoven composed his infamous bagatelle Für Elise WoO 59 on April 27, 1810. The short piece is built around a recurring theme that is unceasingly popular with pianists of all ages.
