Day 24: A song from the 70's

Staying with the theme of obscure British rock, this one is considered a prime example of “Bootboy Rock”: stripped down rock n roll with a punky edge, a smoke filled pub rock feel and a dash of 70’s glam.

I don’t think this was ever really considered a genre, but it was basic rock that appealed to suede heads, bovver boys, football hooligans, boot boys, soul
Boys and of course glam fans.

As for Giggles, they produced a number of singles in the seventies before morphing into a more New Wave band, The Giants, who signed to RCA. They didn’t really go anywhere tho… 😕

Day 25: A song from the 80s
These guys never took off, but I love this song. And I am leaving today for a few days on the coast, so it seemed appropriate as well.

"Making love almost the moment we met
A soggy Romeo, a soaking wet Juliet"

I am not fond of the "Romeo and Juliet is true love" trope (because I have read the play), but it works her in a song about loss.

"Ghost on the Beach," The Insiders

+1 for "ghost", for 3 total.
