Day 24: A song from the 70's
Staying with the theme of obscure British rock, this one is considered a prime example of “Bootboy Rock”: stripped down rock n roll with a punky edge, a smoke filled pub rock feel and a dash of 70’s glam.
I don’t think this was ever really considered a genre, but it was basic rock that appealed to suede heads, bovver boys, football hooligans, boot boys, soul
Boys and of course glam fans.
As for Giggles, they produced a number of singles in the seventies before morphing into a more New Wave band, The Giants, who signed to RCA. They didn’t really go anywhere tho…
